McCain HQ coming soon to Tallahassee
Anybody else struck by how John McCain has taken a looong time building a Florida campaign organization? He won the primary with barely any infrastructure in the must-win Sunshine state, and that hasn't changed.
In a few weeks, however, Buzz Jacobs will set up shop in Tallahassee, conveniently located close to Charlie Crist and his political team. Jacobs is McCain's former South Carolina state director and now is his regional director for the Southeastearn states.

McBushMcBushMcBushMcBush!!

McSame takes Florida for granted. He knows the GOP will conjure up some new trick to deliver the state despite the will of the majority of voters.

Your blog comment is getting very, very old. And on top of that McCain is going to zonk the evil socialist/communist Osama Obama!
So have your fun now, it's going to be all over come November

Oh goody, McSame will fit right in with the Tallahassee folk.

11:52 What's old about his post? He includes new info every time I see it. Apparently, there is an almost limitless number of reason why we shouldn't elect McSame. And now that he's flip-flopped into George III McBush, there's even more.
Check out some of the blogs in other states. Obama's rockin and rollin.

McCain set up his FL HQ in proximity to the Guv's mansion so he can warn Charlie on the dangers of skin cancer. That's all! See what a nice guy McCain is? He's a true humanitarian. It's nothing political to be sure!

Same old stuff!! The socialist/communist Osama Obama will fall in November. Of course, that's assuming he gets the nomination--which is a matter for debate.
Posted by: | April 25, 2008 at 12:35 PM
I have checked the blogs in other states--they say Obama is a worthless piece of Democrat s...!

Tells even more about the importance of Florida in the equation. Buzz could have set up anywhere in the region, and certainly at a post where air service was better, but setting up the regional HQ in Tallahassee is a good move on McCain's part.
And really, posters above, do you think anyone other than your already decided brothers and sisters on the extreme left are going to be swayed by your clever posts?
Barack will be a formidable opponent, he has a populist singsong that mayny find pleasing, but if this election is about the economy, stupids, go to Wall Street and Main Street and tell the folks how doubling capital gains taxes will stimulate the economy. Tell them how that will check the rise in food prices. Tell them how raising taxes across the board will help America. Tell them how bringing the troops home before the War is won and surrendering to the terrorists will keep America safer.
Or better, yet, continue posting your inane chatter. Good luck with all of that.
Posted by: V | April 25, 2008 at 12:45 PM
It's a horrible move. Should have been Tampa.
Posted by: | April 25, 2008 at 12:52 PM
Doesn't Buzz realize Charlie's "Political Team" didn't do squat in 2006 ? John McCain ISN'T Charlie Crist on the trail and will need much more talented people than Arlene, Mr. France, and Vivian. If they rely on the Governor's team, McCain is in big trouble in Florida.
Posted by: Overated No Doubt | April 25, 2008 at 12:56 PM
So basically Buzz is going to be Arlene's assistant ?
Posted by: | April 25, 2008 at 01:04 PM
12:45 Your depiction of Obama is only scary to your wingnut base. If anything, the steps you mention, though in the right direction, will not be enough. I personally don't believe that what's good for the rich is good for everyone else, and I hope he knocks you and your corporatist buddies back into the pre-Reagan days. Get a clue; thanks to you, we're all going to suffer in the near future. Since the GOP and their heartless and clueless conservative masters caused the problem, I sure intend to see that you don't walk away without giving up a huge whacking chunk of your gains to help fix it.

everytime i am ready to concede and pull the lever for McCain, he goes and pokes his finger in the eyes of Republicans - this NC GOP ad flap he caused is probably the third or fourth time he has gone out of his way since "winning" the nomination to stick it to Republicans while at the same time coddling his ideological pals in the media and in the democrat party

V?
(or anyone else who is either drunk or seriously delusional)
please tell me how we will "know" the "war" is "WON"?
pleeze.................
that is the biggest piece of rubbish ever uttered.
how do we win a war, half a world away, in a foreign culture that we dont understand and dont respect, whose people despise, if not hate us, with farfar fewer troops than we need and a chiefly worn out and badly broken "military machine" and virtually no significant allies?
how, V, how?
WHATS IT GONNA LOOK LIKE????
we await your wise insight, V......

McAmnesty is setting up shop in Florida because he wants to be able to surround his people with the illegal aliens he so adores.
See in Georgia they are kicking the illegal aliens out as a result of their State Legislature taking firm action to restore the rule of law and serve the citizen taxpayer. The South Carolina Legisltaure is woking on legislation similar to Georgia's, Mississippi passed legislation last month, Alabama never was suckered in and things are getting hot in North Carolina over the issue since they are getting flooded with both the illegal aliens and the social services expense officials are going to have to suck out of the taxpayers in an election year!!! Just wait until 5000 or 6000 English as a 2nd language kids show up to Mecklenburg County schools unexpectedly on opening day!!!
So, if you are the King of Amnesty where else could you send your staff in the Southeast except Florida?
Too bad the Democrats have to run a bunch of ACLU inspired, baby killing, tax hiking socialists this cycle or I would give them a shot for the first time. Instead I will just be part of the undervote statistic on the Presidential vote.

Obama is an elite, who isn't in touch. And on top of that has a trannie for a wife! Even his minister says he's nothing but a typical black politician. WOW!
Go Hillary beat his butt.

1:13. Pre reagan was Jimmy Carter. You know who he is? He's a terrorist loving, self-serving, zero cred buffoon, under whose policies led to one of the toughest economic times this country has seen. Remember 18% interest on home loans? Vote Democrat so you can relive those times. I hate it when teen-agers post.
Posted by: Donald Lance | April 25, 2008 at 05:20 PM
Mr. Lance is correct. The "Misery Index" was one of the worst of any President under the Carter administration. Unemployment and inflation were at record levels--worse than today by about double.
When Carter came into office all was good, when he left all was a disaster. His economic policies are those that Obama plans to implement. Obamacarter economic is not what we need. Frankly, I'd rather have Bush again than foolish policy like that of Carter.
Why is Carter and his family so supportive of Obama? Because they see in Obama what they had in Jimmy Carter.
McCain WILL NOT be another George Bush. However, Obama WILL BE another Jimmy Carter. I know who I'm voting for. My wallet can't take another experience like the one I had under Carter.
Posted by: Typical White Working Guy | April 25, 2008 at 06:21 PM
Mine neither. No more Carter types needed. Obama looks very similar--just a different color.
Posted by: | April 25, 2008 at 07:08 PM
Doesn't really matter whether Hillary or Barack wins. The survivor is going to help elect McCain. African Americans go to McCain if Hillary wins, working class whites to McCain if Obama's on top. The Dems have created a real mess for themselves!
Posted by: | April 25, 2008 at 07:27 PM
AMEN!!!
Posted by: | April 25, 2008 at 08:51 PM
Liberals make me laugh with their B.S
They would rather vote for a socialist that will take money from those that work for a living and have become successful. So that they can redistribute it and give it to them. They really think Obama or Hillary will actually pull the troops out of Iraq. The Dems have been in control of Congress for two years and have done nothing. The didn't bring the troops home, gas prices have doubled and global warming and using ethanol for fuel have increased food prices. Along with that Hamas and other terrorist organizations want OBama or Hillary in office. Geez wake liberals are you that challenged or just under the influence of something????
Posted by: | April 26, 2008 at 04:52 AM
Has anyone told the McCain people... that Tallahassee (Leon Co.) is a Democratic Stronghold and has less than 30% registered Republican voters?
Why the hell would they waste their time and money opening an office in a city that he is going to get creamed in?
And I am not talking Blue Dog Dems either... Tally is Yellow Dog territory.
Posted by: | April 26, 2008 at 08:11 AM
You may get surprised with the "history" of Democratic vote in Tally. History may not repeat itself when voters look at the quality of the Dem they have to vote for. Obama is not Yellow or Blue, as you know.

Maybe not yet--but beats the hell out of the approach of the cowardly Democrats who want to pack it in and weaken our security against all the U.S. haters. Maybe even including the great Rev. Wrong.
Posted by: | April 26, 2008 at 06:26 PM
Obama just another Carter? You bet he is!
Especially on international affairs. Electing Obama could very well lead us down the path of a major incursion on our national security.

V was occupied with work and travel, do pardon the delay, I had not checked the blog since Friday's post. Do not confuse silence with acquiescence.
The question is how will we know if the War is won. To the point, this War will be won when radical Islamic jihadists are not attempting to create terror cells in America and kill Americans.
And while that may not happen soon, perhaps in our lifetimes and beyond, it will certainly never happen if we surrender in Iraq and embolden the purveyors of jihad.
V honors the service every soldier gives us, the sacrifice their families make, and sadly, often the ultimate sacrifice.
What V also honors is your right to post your inane ramblings, though I am neither a liar nor an anus. I would suggest that those on who read this blog would wager on your sobriety while posting, versus my own.
Posted by: V | April 27, 2008 at 01:19 PM
V, you're talking about the jihadis that the war in Iraq has created, right? When George Bush KNOWINGLY lied about the WMD, and we laid waste to their country in the name of self defense, and no WMD were ever found, right? I believe that is when the Iraqis became enraged enough to start spawning terrorists. That was when Al-Qaida, formerly persona non-grata in Iraq, suddenly found themselves welcome there.
Now only one candidate had the sense to vote NOT to go to war in Iraq. You could easily say that he had the foresight to see this mess happening long before others did. But you're saying that rather than follow him, let's put our money on "more of the same" McCain?
I don't know where you get your twisted logic from, but regardless of where the war is going now, if I had my choice between the guy who was right, and the guy who was wrong, I'd go with the former.
Do you have any grasp of how much this war has cost our country, ANY AT ALL? There are many economists who have placed the cost of fixing ALL of our nation's economic problems at LESS THAN THIS WAR HAS COST US.
V, you are ignorant at best, but I suspect that you are actually a traitor, just a shill for the FEW rich people who have actually profited from GOP rule, and the war, and you're just hoping against hope that your apologist rhetoric can fool enough people to help you continue your exploitation. For 100, 1000, even 10,000 more years, right?
Posted by: | April 27, 2008 at 01:50 PM
We will never know the results of the what-if campaigns, as in "what-if" we had not invaded and removed Saddam from power. I do believe, as many including Senator McCain do, that the management and strategy of the war post-Saddam was incorrect and certainly did not achieve the results desired.
I cannot convince you or others bent on immediate withdrawal to recognize the error of that action. You are blinded by your convictions, no logic or reasoning will change your mind.
I do leave you with this: No attacks have been made on American soil since 9/11/01. Do we suppose that would have been the case without the prosection of the War on Terror, not only the phase confined to Iraq, but wherever those jihadists exist?
I believe immediate withdrawal is the worst possible strategy, and if that makes me a traitor in your mind, then it is in your mind that a disconnect is occurring. I do not think that your advocacy for that strategy makes you a traitor or unpatriotic. We just disagree.
But, your juvenile discourse, aside, do continue to press your case. Only history is the judge of who is right and who is wrong.
Posted by: V | April 27, 2008 at 04:40 PM
Obama is a traitor to America. How could anyone vote for him or his plan to immediately withdraw troops from Iraq. My guess, it is part of Obama's agreed masterplan with the Muslims to have them take over the U.S.
