McCain's top FL money bags
George W. Bush had his Rangers and Pioneers, and John McCain has his "Innovators" (who have raised at least $250,000) and "trailblazers" (at least $100,000). Among the Arizona senator's top bundlers, here are the Floridians:
At least $250,000: Brian Ballard, Tallahassee; Manuel Kadre, Miami; John Moran, Palm Beach; Scott Rothstein, Fort Lauderdale. At least $100,000: Charles Cobb, Jr., Miami; John Dasburg, Miami; John Donahue, Naples; Marty Fiorentino, Ponte Vedra Beach; Alfred Hoffman, Jr., Fort Myers; Harry Sargeant, III, Gulf Stream; Glenn Steil, Sr., Bonita Springs

Just wanted to get the goose egg off the board.

Wow! I am impressed. These guys have raised all this money and still families like mine who voted Republican in 2000/2004 will not be in 2008.
We are sick of the corporate wing of the party and their support of illegal immigration and opposition to tax reform.
Since the corporations want to control the politics of the nation they should pay all the taxes too. Time to eliminate the personal income tax and property taxes in favor of more corporate tax. Then all the waste, fraud and abuse they favor will be on their dime not mine!

Yawn.

Yup, 11:00, I'm sure that is exactly what President Obama and the Democrats will do.

11:00, Here is how it works: Corporations make things. People like you buy things (for example, in my estimation, you buy sponge-bob t-shirts and ball-in-a-cup toys to "challenge" your brain). Now, this is where it gets tricky. When corporations have to pay higher taxes, they raise their prices of your ball-in-a-cup toy. They do this because they are trying to make a profit, which is the idea behind "having a business." Thus, (this will blow your mind)raising taxes on corporations is REALLY a tax on your ball-in-a-cup toy. Yaunderstand?

Democrats don't understand things like that. This is the reason most of them are looking for constant hand outs.

...as opposed to Republicans looking for constant corporate handouts.

Do intelligent Democrats (oxymoron?) read posts like 12:00 and 11:00 and think, "yeah, thats who's side I am on," or has it not occurred to them that the most vocal of their supporters are dullards and crazy people?

8:34 here's how it REALLY works:
Corporations hire lobbyists. Lobbyists direct corporations where to put "their" campaign money. Money buys politicians. The Politicians then vote to give corporations taxdollars to build their railroad tracks or re-locate here in Florida. All the "profit" goes to the corporation. The Corporations bring in a few of their "own" folks to run the corporation, they hire illegals to do the grunt work and a few Floridians in nonmanagement positions and pay them sufficient to keep them in the "working poor" class.
The Legislature then cuts necessary services and education while proclaiming themselves as "fiscally responsible." The award "contracts" and jobs to their best friends for life. The schools become so bad that they send their kids to private schools and to out-of-state universities. They "invest" in Florida by building more prisons, cutting educatation, and eliminating vocational programs and drug and alcohol treatment programs. Then they slap themselves on the back and say "what a good boy am I" as they carry their buckets full of campaign cash to the bank - knowing that they have provided for the people of Florida (as long as those people are their own families or their best friends for life).
And that my friend is how it REALLY works.

Great news, hopefully we'll make sure racist Obama & his pastor Rev Wright never see the inside of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave

The United States has the second-highest corporate tax rate in the industrial world. Quit whining about corporate welfare and enjoy your iPods and Starbucks.
Americans have to be the most ungrateful, spolied, whiny nation this earth has ever seen.

As long as the individual is not paying income and property tax there will be plenty of additional disposal income to offset the increased corporate tax passed on in the cost of goods and services. However, consumers will be more empowered to not fund the waste, fraud and abuse when they cannot be but in jail, heavily fined or have their homes foreclosed on because they did not buy a ball-in-a-cup toy from Lobbyist A's favorite client!!! Also, as you know pricing power is not what it use to be when it comes to passing on cost for things the consumer can't touch, feel, eat or otherwise directly benefit from.
Who knows the free market might prevail again with this approach.
Looks like consumers would come out ahead in this deal. I will lobby for that!!!

8:41 is right. If the govt would charge corps, say 1% vs. 40%, businesses would be flocking to this country like crap thru a goose! But that's a simple solution and the govt will never do anything simple.

Remember, the govt wants everything from a little instead of a little from everything. All the jobs are gone overseas and all we can make are hot dogs for supper. Vote Libertarian!
