Obama camp scoffs at Hillary on FL
re: Clinton's St. Pete Times interview:
"Senator Clinton has proven that she will say or do anything to win and, in this case, is saying something that is flatly not true. If Clinton truly cared about the Michigan and Florida delegations being represented at the convention, she'd support efforts to resolve this matter today with an even split of the delegates. While she continues to play politics, we'll continue to work to achieve a fair resolution," said Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton.

Splitting the delegates evenly would disenfranchise the will of Florida's voters.
Either count the official certified tally or don't at all. Don't make up some ramdom number and call it a day.

Racist Barack Obama wants to disenfranchise Floridians.
Get out of our state.

Dave - there is nothing "typical" about you as you will find out on November 4th.
Posted by: Gene Smith | April 15, 2008 at 10:26 PM
so what hillary votes are they not going to count to split even with obama?
Posted by: | April 15, 2008 at 10:38 PM
Obama is the candidate of CHANGE.
And WE ARE THE CHANGE WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR.
HRC - come to the table and negotiate a fair resolution and let's start moving towards beating McCain in Florida, please.
Stop the redherring topic and get busy.

Obama is the candidate of RACISM.
And he has half of America fooled. Good thing the true colors are starting to show, no thanks to the media drooling for this fool.

Don't criticize Obama for wanting to engage in a time-honored Democrat tradition --- stealing votes!
Posted by: | April 16, 2008 at 01:46 AM
Obama is the candidate of CHANGE!
As in I'm going to take all of those Florida votes that were cast for Hillary and I'm going to ch- ch- ch- change half of them into MINE!
Posted by: | April 16, 2008 at 02:46 AM
Ironic, isn't it, that the first viable African-American candidate for president makes exactly the same arguments to justify disenfranchising Florida primary voters in 2008 that the segregationists used to justify disenfranchising African-Americans in 1950.
Goes to show, we are all the same, no matter what color we are.
All that makes us different is what is in our hearts.
If personal self-promotion justifies not counting other citizens' votes--black, white or both, we aren't worthy of public power whether we are black, white or both.
I agree with 10:05, "counting" our votes but deciding how we voted is worse than just not counting them at all.
Politicians shouldn't be deciding who the voters are or how they voted. Voters are supposed to decide in a democracy.
The party of my parents, my party for most of my adult life, is not democratic in spite of its name.
Posted by: | April 16, 2008 at 07:08 AM
If Obama is stealing votes, what was Hillary doing when she signed on not to count Florida and Michigan. On the day Florida votes, Clinton and Obama were agreed that the results didn't count. She now wants to change the rules, which I guess people are getting used to. Split the delegates evenly, seat the Florida delegation and move on.
Now why wouldn't Hillary want that?
This. Race. Is.
Over.

Count Florida’s votes as votes, split Florida’s Delegates 50/50, discount Michigan’s inequitable primary completely, split Michigan’s Delegates 50/50, fire Howeird Dunce, kick R-plant Thurmadrunk to the curb, and vote every incumbent out of office.
Problem Solved!

Can somebody translate this for me? I am the change I've been waiting for? It's like apologizing to myself for slavery.

What Candidate the really wants to win takes their name off of the ballot.
Obviously Obama didn't care about Michigan and he is trying to run home to mommy about getting beat in Fl.
Posted by: | April 16, 2008 at 11:13 AM
Why aren't we blaming Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire, and South Carolina for this.
THey are the ones that put out the ban on campaigning. Iowa moved their primary according to DNC by laws, but they were not punished.
Call those state parties and ask why the want the republicans to win the elections.
Iowa Democratic Party: 515-244-7292
South Carolina Democratic Party: 800-841-1817
803-799-7798
New Hampshire Democratic Party: 603-225-6899
Nevada Democratic Party: 702-737-8683

What Candidate that really wants to win signs the pledge... THEAN... pretends like they care about us NOW?
Obviously Hillary didn't care about Michigan and Florida voters before, and she is trying to change the rules... under heavy sniper fire no less.

In his latest in a series of gaffes, Bill Clinton suggested that older voters are "too savvy" to "fall" for Obama.
I'm a relatively young Obama supporter and I would respectfully put my knowledge of politics and policy up against any older voter, any day.
The Clintons' condescending and patronizing rhetoric is sad. They have truly become a parody of themselves.
It's sad to say but, as a staunch former Clinton fan, I'm beginning to understand why Republicans hate them so much.

11:35. Watch what you wish for. Experience is the best teacher there is. If you knew about Obama's policy to siphon some $13 TRILLION out of this economy to end poverty in Africa, you would not make the statement you made. If you knew about policy and politics, you'd be voting Libertarian.

Donald,
With due respect, please save conspiracy theories for another day.
If you can point me to one credible (credibile being the operative word) source to substantiate your claim, I might not immediately skip your posts from now on.

12:23. If passed, this bill will further commit the United States to the key Millennium Development Goal outlined in the U.N. Millennium Summit and require the President to implement a strategy to meet those goals. This bill will likely be used as authorization/justification for the U.S. to commit .7% of our GDP toward reducing poverty -- the commitment outlined for developed nations in the MIllennium Development Goals which amounts to a Global Poverty Tax. When the arithmetic is finished, the United States could be spending an additional $845 billion on foreign aid. The Global Poverty Act will lead to a significantly increased commitment by the United States of American taxpayer money to the United Nations.
Barack states his support for this on his web-site. But if you know your candidate, I'm certain you already saw his support for this on his web-site.
I think that money would be better spent here.

The latest evidence of the gap between political rhetoric and economic reality is the Democratic-controlled House’s decision to set aside, possibly indefinitely, the free trade agreement negotiated with Colombia by the Bush administration. On economic grounds, there’s no reason to reject the agreement. Colombia’s exports already enter the U.S. market duty free under the 1991 Andean Trade Preference Act. Meanwhile, many U.S. exports to Colombia face stiff tariffs — up to 35 percent on autos, 15 percent on tractors and 10 percent on computers — most of which would ultimately go to zero under the agreement.
The tariffs dampen demand for U.S. exports by raising their price and putting them at a competitive disadvantage. Whirlpool exports about $50 million annually of refrigerators, washer-dryers and dishwashers to Colombia from plants in Ohio, Arkansas and Iowa. On a $1,000 refrigerator, a 20 percent tariff raises the retail price $200 in a fiercely competitive market with appliances also supplied by local firms and imports from Korea and elsewhere. (Why does Colombia want the agreement? Answer: Congress has to renew Colombia’s present duty-free status periodically. The agreement would make it permanent.)
Yet, it’s politically convenient to oppose the trade agreement because the popular imagery is that trade destroys U.S. jobs. The loss of almost 4 million U.S. manufacturing jobs since 1998 seems easy to explain by cheap imports or the flight of plants to Mexico, China and other poorer countries. The truth is murkier: although this has occurred, job losses also stem from greater efficiency (fewer workers producing more goods) and slumping domestic demand (for communications equipment and computers after the dot.com bust and for housing materials and vehicles now). Nor has falling factory employment crippled overall U.S. job creation

Posted by: | April 16, 2008 at 03:25 PM
3:20. I agree with you, but I'd like to see a free trade deal done with Korea first because we do so much more business with that country. In this country's current state, what jobs would be lost on Columbia? Helicopters? Night-vision goggles? plastic straws for all the coke?
My question is why was Nanci Pelosi on the floor when she should have been with Jimmy Carter pandering to Hamas in Eastern Isreal( they don't deserve to have their future country's name mentioned)?

All you had to do was click on the link inside that, but you leftists don't want the truth. You were probably watching the Roger Clemmons depo on television while this was quietly going on. So tell me, what is BHO going to do for me? Better yet! What won't he do to me? I WANT POLICY FROM YOU SINCE THAT"S WHAT YOU SAID YOU KNOW ABOUT! Now go do some policy research so we can have an intelligent discussion.

BHO is inexperienced and has NO plan in place for CHANGE (Other than calling those of us who do not "look" like him racists and unintelligent). HRC has NO plan for CHANGE. Another 4 to 8 years of a Clinton in the WH not protecting our Homeland. Without Homeland Security, we need not worry about the economy, gas prices, the dems socialist policies, etc. We'd be another third world country..we'd self implode. McCain's my man. And yes, I would rather have his finger on the button when the time comes. I'll sit back now while some of ya'll start throwing your leftist theories around.
