Ron Paul supporters bullied -- again!

An ongoing spat between supporters of Republican presidential candidates John McCain and Ron Paul flared again Thursday, when pro-Paul dissidents were kicked out of a Pasco County GOP Executive Committee meeting.

Sofie Lefebvre, a Paul supporter, said a sheriff’s deputy escorted her and her husband out of the Land O’Lakes Senior Center, where the meeting was held.

“It’s this little nasty game going on,” Lefebvre said. “This isn’t America where you don’t let your own people into meetings. This is absolute fascism.”

Bill Bunting, the committee’s chairman, said it was a “special” meeting open only to precinct committee members, and he did not want any disruption of a busy organizational session.
“We had a limited number of seats,” he said. “Sheriff’s deputies will be hired from time to time. We’re not going to have interference from people who are not members yet.”
Bunting couldn’t recall the last time the committee hired deputies for such purposes, and acknowledged such meetings used to be open to all registered Republicans, even those who aren’t precinct members.

I am a member of the REC and was at last nights meeting. A rec meeting is a party meeting and is not open to the press or public if the chairman deems it.
One Ron Paul supporter was dimissed because he was anti-Republican(his car was full of anti-Bush and anti-GOP slogans-bumber stickers). He posted on his website that he didn,t care about party oaths or rules. They do it to themselves by posting their agenda and wonder why we don't want them on our REC- Go figure!!
I think my chairman is right on to defend the GOP against this attack from within.
Go Bill Bunting!!!! WE ARE BEHIND YOU,
JOHN McCAIN IN 08!

I was there too, and these Ron Paul people should get a life and look at reality, Paul lost and McCain is our nominee, feels like dealing with the Dem's 2000 loss all over again.

Bill is a great Chairman!

Ron Paul? Really, who cares?

I was at the REC meeting last night and yes the Pasco County Sheriff escorted Sofie Lefebvre and her husband out of the meeting. This meeting was not a closed executive session. It was indeed open to the public. There were people there that did not have their precinct badges on, so I am saying they were not REC members. There were many area candidates there, also. John McCain is a candidate, not the nominee of the Republican Party as yet.

I be live that State Chairman Greer has been clear too , he will not tolerate any disruption to the local Parties, so Mr Bunting was right , so It looks like the Ron Paul people our out of luck, if Chairman Greer who has a great deal of power supports this they are out of luck with no chance !

Yea McCain may be the nominee someday but facts are facts. McCain can't win without the constitutionalist, christian conservatives and liberty lovers. So keep throwing them out the door and soon you will find you don't have a party. There is a large segment of society that is ready for a third party.

Wake up Pasco, Bill Bunting and his REC, do not represent all Republicans.
He is, as always, an adult bully with a badge and a clan of his own.

ha. GOP is nominating fascist-liberal McCain. wow

I love the comment by 20yearsofbuntingis enough. He must also be one of the insiders. It is time to elect a new chairman as it seems to me that Bunting has no wisdom or diplomatic skills to know how to deal with people whose opinions differ from his own.
At the previous REC meeting, Mike Bilirakis was the only one who demonstrated the ability to unify the
REC and handle differences in a skillful, graceful, and effective manner. Bunting seems to be utterly lacking in this skill which is such a necessary ability for a leader. We are far overdue for a new chairman who can act in a professional manner and bring the Republican Executive Committee together. Bunting seems to act like a godfather of a group of thugs who has absolute rule over an organization.
It is time that we in the REC work on recovering our respectable image in the minds of the people.

I am a REC member from another county. The GOP needs to think of the future. Throwing out potential members is counterproductive. Ron Paul supporters are very conservative Republicans and can be very useful in future campaigns. They will only support Republicans. John McCain stands zero "0" chance of winning the election unless there are hundreds of thousands of hanging chads. The presence of Ron Paul supporters are in no way hampering the election of John McCain. Bomb, Bomb Iran McCain is his worst enemy in a country fed up with VietIraqNam. Republicans across the country will support John McCain the same as the 7th Cavalry supported Lieutenant Colonel George A. Custer. The results will be the same. Think to the future.

I attended last months GOP REC meeting as an independent. I am registered as a Libertarian but I am unhappy with that party as well. I heard about the meeting from a RP Meetup and was excited about going as to meet with other conservative and to try and work with others to get our beloved Republic back on track.

I witnessed the GOP harass and humiliate people who were there to work without so much as even letting them defend themselves.

Unfortunately, I was unable to attend last night's meeting. I was curious as to how the situation was going to be resolved. Now I know and I'm glad that I didn't attend.

I will never again vote for ANY GOP candidate and will do whatever I can to thwart the activities of any GOP supporters.

It is now blatantly obvious that the GOP and the Democrat Party are one and the same when it comes to honor and principle.

Hot diggity dog! You mean to tell me that standing up for the constitution is not conservative? Being anti-amnesty isn't conservative? And pro-life, anti-taxation isn't conservative? Sound money isn't conservative?

How about we start running this country the same way we would want to run our own households?

It's FASCINATING to me that the GOP Bushies would throw Thomas Jefferson out on the seat of his pants if he'd walked in and tried to talk some sense into the old cronies.

Don't rock the boat? What was this country founded on? What was the Boston Tea Party all about?

Make no mistake. We are here to take our country back. And if that means we take a few committee seats to get it done, we will. This will be a free country one day and by God I hope I live to see it. John McCain, in NO WAY represents me as a constitionalist conservative Republican.

Go Google Ron Paul. And be prepared for your whole world to change. The truth is powerful stuff.

Republican supporters were kicked out of a republican meeting? That alone speaks volumes. A post above said they had anti-GOP prpoganda in their car. How did they know this when the people were escorted out? Just another reason to vote Libertarian. The GOP doesn't care about their own people! What does that say? It says they like to disenfranchise their own, so their own should give up on the party and see what the Libertarians have to offer.

Look McCain wasn't my first choice either but he is the GOP nominee. The Paul supporters need to act like Republicans that are interested in supporting the GOP nominee and if they can't they shouldn't stand in the way of folks that are. Your guy didn't win the primary, get over it.

I was denied entry and was escorted by the sherriff to my car.

This morning, I called Bill Bunting at home and we had a civil conversation. Here is the key point of our conversation and an analysis of why I believe there exists an unecessary wedge between us and the Republican establishment.

Mr. Bunting and the other Committee members, are suspicious of our intent due in large part to our determination to see Ron Paul as the next president. This zealousness is exemplified by our plan to become delegates and insure Dr. Paul's nomination.

The intention of the Ron Paul supporters is to "restore the Constitutional Republic." This "restoration" is necessary because the three hundred million Americans that make up this nation are asleep at the wheel. The distractions have taken over as the preminent focus for Mr. and Mrs. America! While they are mesmerized with sports, soap operas, and whatever is the latest means for numbing their brain, this once great nation is crumbling into obscurity and we are all going down with it! This is neither hyperbole, nor is it "whacko conspiracy" talk. Arbitrarily labeling this assertion as such, portends that Americans are the "dumbed down" kool aid drinking sheep that will follow the media's direction and accept the tazing as justifiable and the war as great! Yes, America is crumbling in many ways.

The dollar is dead and an economic collapse worse than the Great Depression is forecast by experts. The "reformed" socialists from the Democratic Party, the "neo conservatives" who have hijacked the Republican Party, have seen to this.

The border is open to all illegal entry. The Security and Prosperity Partnership's agenda to "harmonize" North America into a union is unimpeded by our elected representatives.

The war against the invisible terrorists rages on and has now been reorganized to target Americans. Even the useful idiots will not be spared when Homeland Security institutes martial law. Check out HR1955 now S. 1959, the "Homegrown Terrorism Act."

Have you got your National I.D. card yet? You will next month.

Is John McCain going to be different? If one looks at his record as a Senator, it is impossible to label him as a Republican, let alone a conservative.

We believe Ron Paul is the only true conservative Republican running for president.

I challenge Mr. Bunting to reach out to us and engage us in true discourse regarding the state of the Republican party. We America-loving voters who have been mobilized by Ron Paul cling to the message not the candidate or the party. The tie that binds the millions of Ron Paul supporters to each other and hopefully to the Republican party are these truths:

Man is born free and is endowed with God-given rights. These rights are not privelages that are granted by the state and thus, can not be taken away by the state. Furthermore, these inalienable rights as such must be protected by by the state. This being the state's main purpose of existence.

The government is a creation of and is subject to the people. Not the other way around.

I do not want my children to be forced to face the challenges that seem inevitable in the coming brave new world. I want them to be free and sovereign as God intended and as our founding fathers understood when they drafted the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.

What do you say Mr. Bunting?

The two persons escorted from the REC meeting by the Pasco County Sheriff were not permitted to remain in the meeting room. This while allegations and false statements were made concerning their alleged actions in the past.No proof was offered to support these allegations. This is a travesty and not worthy of the Republican Party which extols the principles of freedom, democracy and justice for its members, and the public, from which it seeks their support in a crucial election. It's time to remove the present Chairman Bill Bunting and the Chief Prosecutor Ann Bunting for the good of the Republican Party.

There were more than two escorted. I was also escorted off the property.

All you Ron paul supporters need to consider voting for Bob Barr in Nov. He's the Libertarian candidate so he is true to your concerns. Ron Paul really isn't a Republican anyway, so you might as well vote to where his allegiance lies. Ron Paul wont be on the ballot, but Bob Barr will. Let the Dems & Repub understand that we've had enough & need to go old school - not change!

Why do we still need troops in Germany and Japan???? I thought WWII ended a long time ago???????

We should help countries, but we should practice a policy of nonintervention and not be in every country on the face of the Earth.

ALL republicans should be allowed in whether they support McCain, Paul, Romney (although not running), or even a longshot like Alan Keyes. This is unfair treatment to allow certain people in and not others!

RON PAUL 2008!

Long Time Rec member, who posted at the beginning of comments, is either a bald faced liar or has been duped by the Buntings. The Ron Paul supporter 'dismissed" has ONE bumper sticker on their car, "Ron Paul for President." As Ron Paul is a Republican, that's hardly "anti-Republican," nor does one bumper sticker stating support for for RP constitute "a car full of anti-Bush and anti-GOP slogans-bumber stickers."

Truth has taken a back seat at the REC meetings, where Repubs have become nothing more that Stepford Republicans, having their strings pulled by the Buntings. Sheeple, nothing but sheeple.

Shame on Buntings for their lack of integrity and common sense. It's a sad day when the Repubs here stoop to such unfairness and wallow in paranoia. When the repubs, nationally and locally, get their heads handed to them in the next election, and a full Demo sweep occurs, will they acknowledge their stupidity in deliberately alienating RP supporters. Probably not.

Even though I agree with him about economic and constitutional issues I cannot support Ron Paul because he could never explain how he would protect this nation from islamic facists and illegal aliens.

With regards to McAmnesty, he hasn't explained how he will restrain himself from war mongering and giving amnesty to illegal aliens.

These guys are enough to make me leave the Republican Party. I am sick of party hacks. I am going to support an America First candidate and I don't care what party they may be in or if they are in none at all. Stick that in your BB gun and shot yourself in the foot with it Mr. Bunting.

Paul Fans=Dean Fans

2008:
What about Pauley?

Ah Pauley! Won't see him no more!

Many County Chairman around the state have had enough-leave the Pauley and take the canolies, we are over these jerks!

The Man

I'm not a Republican, and I wouldn't be caught anywhere near one of your beer hall rallies, but for what it's worth, the Paul supporters are right on this one - you are a bunch of fascists. And please do as Donald Lance suggests and vote for his no-name Libertarian has been candidate and take some votes away from McSame. Our country needs your help now more than ever!

Bill Bunting spent 5 months in the State Pen in New York, yeah, he's an ex CON, a thief and guilty of indecent exposure!!
And he leads the republican party and teaches kids how to shoot guns.
This guy is a loser, throw the bums out!!

Ron Paul people Your guy filed to remain in congress, it's over don't you get it.
McCain has the pledged delagates that he needs, this is America and when an election is decided we unite. Bill bunting was a Thompson supporter, Thompson was atr his Reagan day dinner last year. Rommney was in hills. and Rudy was in Pinellas, but now all three county leaders are working for McCain.
If the Ron Paul people want to have a voice they will have to earn it by donating time on other campaigns and maybe giving the party or other Republicans some money.
Until then Good riddens to them because you won't vote for GOP people anyway.
GOP REC MEMBER IN GOOD STANDING!!!

Keep up the great work Bill, if there complaining then your doing something right!!!!!!!!

9:42
I was at the meeting in Pasco, and I have been to several events in Pinellas and Tampa, including their REC meetings.
Your right, Bill, Tony, and David work together and are very popular in their counties, and I love how they are all doing so badly, according to who??
Good bye Paulites, go back into the Lib. party and at least be honest with your selves.

REC MEMBER-ALSO IN GOOD STANDING FOR 15+ YEARS!

Shame on Chairman Bill Bunting and the "sheriff" who worked outside of American ideals and a respectable GOP.

Principled people like longtime GOPer Dr. Alan Keyes have left the party and will probably seek the only national constitutional party: www.ConstitutionParty.org

At very least, conservatives should not want McCain to think he has a mandate in the party. People should continue to support Dr. Ron Paul as he is picking up delegates and voters for the GOP.

McCain will hurt the GOP and that is simply a fact, while people may pick him since he has the most delegates; we should not be proud of it and we need to think of future elections. "Principle above Politics".

9:42 you are a dolt don't you get it? How can any RP supporter work for local, state, or federal GOP candidates when their not allowed to attend meetings or partake in volunteer activities? How can they show their loyalty when they're not given a chance? There was a gentleman removed from the REC at the last meeting who was a RP supporter who had been an REC member for months and had done nothing disruptive. His only crime? Voicing his support on a blog for Ron Paul, an activity that is protected by the first amendment. If Mein Furher Bunting does not like you you are not allowed to volunteer, you are not allowed to partake in the meetings where local campaigns come looking for help, and if you volunteer individually with the campaign he'll work behind your back and have you removed from there too by threatening the candidate. It's time the elected officials and candidates to stand up and be counted, they're all intimidated by Mein Fuhrer Bunting and if they all stood together in Tallahassee this joke of a chairman would already be gone! And they could in all probability increase their list of volunteers and their chances of winning in November. The way it currently stands all RP supporters will locally sit out the vote in November and we will end up with a full slate of democrats elected, maybe then Tallahassee will wake up and realize the problem with the leadership of the GOP in Pasco, but by then, alas, it will be too late.

It was not a "special" meeting unless you mean by "special" that people who are not members were allowed to vote another member out. That's pretty "special" isn't it? A ballot was asked for by the State Committeeman John Renke so that people wouldn't be intimidated to vote with the Chairman and that request was denied. Of course if you give out a ballot than only members can vote and that might not have produced the foregone conclusion of the stacked room that included non-members voting and the outcome that was preordained by the Chairman before the meeting ever began. From what I saw at the meeting that night the only individual from the party leadership present who should be able to look at themselves in the mirror without feelings of revulsion is John Renke! John Renke for Chairman, Bill Bunting for Dog Catcher in 08!

What do you do when the Republican party has been hijacked by a media created Republican in name only Democrat socialist war loving anti-constitution globalist? If you are a yellow dog Republican, you do nothing but what you are told, because you have no principles to guide you. If you are a Ron Paul supporter, you work to kick the scoundrel out, and bring the Republican Party back to its conservative revolutionary biblical constitutional roots of our beloved country's Founding Fathers and Mothers! We will not take the National ID card, and we will not let this country quietly disappear into the globalist North American Union.

Good post Randy. Glad to see someone gets it. Vote for Bob Barr or write in Dr. Paul. If we keep voting Globalist Republican or Socialist Democrat we will keep getting the same thing. Time to change and get America First straight out of the Constitution!!!

Chairman Bunting speaks about the need to unify and support all candidates of the Republican Party but Bunting instead is divisive and his support is given only to those candidates which he favors. No matter the candidates are Republican, even in uncontested primaries. Our incumbent 9th District Congressional Representative Gus Bilirakis is not receiving the support by Chairman Bunting which he should be getting from the committee and its leadership. A handout was distributed by a Bilirakis staff member at the recent REC meeting announcing a Family Day picnic sponsored by Representative Bilirakis on May 18, 2008, yet no mention was made of this event by Chairman Bunting.

this sound like a shameful event that all republicans should question Ron Paul is a candidate, and his supporters deserve respect. For me, I belive that my local republican party offices are more intested in my money than my voice.

The gentleman who was voted off the REC has been a registered Republican since he was 18 yrs old (almost 40 yrs ago), campaigned door to door as a kid for Barry Goldwater and passed out literature on the street corners, and headed the Young Republicans group he started at his high school, and was a Committeeman in Washington State prior to coming here. He was instrumental in protecting that state's concealed carry law when it came under siege by anti-gunners there. Over the years, he has donated over $250K to various good Repubs' campaigns (I know this because he has been my personal friend for many years). To all that, add that he is a decorated, retired US Navy officer. Does he deserve to be so abused by the Buntings and his buddies on the REC? I would like to see any of them put their service to this country up next to his for comparison.

In my opinion, this Repub who was kicked out (who has been a Repub for many more years than the Buntings) is far more deserving of carrying the Repub banner, than is Bunting. It looks to me like Bunting and his Stepford buddies on the REC may have knocked off one of the best, most supportive Repubs this county is blessed to have, and all because he had the temerity to support Ron Paul for the Primary Election. While I don't know this as a fact, my guess is that this Repub won't be providing financial support to any other Repubs in the future.

Did the kicked out gentlemen have a chance to defend himself or provide his version of events? Why was the REC not interested in hearing from him before they acted? The gentleman requested an excused absence for this particular meeting, the only one he has missed, because he was involved out of state in helping to raise money for a major preservation group, and he requested that the kick out motion be delayed until the next meeting when he could defend himself. You just have to wonder why it was necessary to deny fundamental due process to this man who has so loyally served?

Is the REC just a "Simon says" kind of outfit? Bunting says, REC does? This man should have been heard from before any action was even considered. Bunting did not provide him a chance to speak because he knows this eloquent and thoughtful gentleman would have made him look like the fool and bullying coward he is. Sad for the Pasco Republican Party.

Every elected Repub in this county or any seeking office should demand that he be reinstated and then have the opportunity to defend himself, if the REC wishes to again consider his removal. ANY REPUB WHO WON'T STAND UP FOR THIS DECENT AND LOYAL MAN DESERVES NO VOTE FROM ANYONE IN THIS COUNTY and you can rest assured they won't have my vote.

Ron Paul is no conservative and the lemmings that support him just don't think for themselves. Ron Paul asked and received over 400 million dollars in Pork for his district. John McCain asked and got none. Paul is a 9/11 conspiracy supporter who is mentally challenged in my opinion. Bill Bunting is what many claim he is but Ron Paul supporters are only interested in creating problems not promoting the Republican Party just like their anti-Republican Candidate.

Ron Paul is not my candidate but his supporters certainly deserve to be put on as REC members. I only wish that the McCain supporters had as much fervor and excitement for their candidate as the Ron Paul supporters do. These are OUR voters what are we doing here? Ann Bunting stated to the crowd at the last REC meeting that the Paul supporters would be voting Democrat on all of our local elections and she stated that Sofie LeFebvre had switched over from being a democrat. How could she possibly know this and how can one possibly believe that someone who is a die hard democrat would be such a fervent supporter of Ron Paul? It is an oxymoron to say the least. Ann Bunting was caught in one lie that night when she said that no one was escorted off of the property. Bill Bunting was also caught in the same lie when he said that the RP supporter in question didn't bother to show up, yet in the paper the next day he confirmed that they most certainly were escorted off of the property by the police. If they will lie to your face in spite of your very eyes seeing the people getting escorted away what makes you believe anything that comes out of their mouths? The Buntings are calling for the willing suspension of disbelief on the parts of all of the members of the REC. So did Sofie switch from the Democratic party or more likely the Libertarian, Independent, or Constitution party? Are they all supporting Democratic candidates for our local and state races as stated by Ann Bunting? I guess we'll have to wait until the next meeting and the next gazing into the crystal ball by our parliamentarian and part-time soothsayer...

All who witnessed this should hang their head in shame and reflect on what has been done to our once shining Republic. Is this the way those with different ideas are handled, removed by those who are to protect and serve at the hands of the "majority"? I'm sure Adolf Hitler would be very happy with the unification you have acheived. Marching forward in unison crushing all who oppose...sounds familiar right? It should, it has been done thousands of times before in history and at the expense of millions of lives. What many don't understand is that it is their duty to speak out and question the "majority", it is required of you. The protection of our founding documents is paramount to all things for many will try to subvert those documents in small ways until the end of time. With the growth of technology these attacks will become more frequent and more powerful and we will advance toward the Orwellian society that seems to be our destiny. It is my belief that many McCain supporters would be much happier under a socialist or communist flag. You live in daily fear of "something" happening and in exchange you will sell your souls to be told that you are safe and in the end will trip over a garden hose, or slip on the stairs and meet your maker. Hopefully he will not be disappointed with the cowering, quivering shell of a person who stands before him who would give up the freedom their children have yet to experience in exchange for some rehearsed and reassuring words that guarantee you nothing. McCain is quite possibly one of the worst Republican choices around and will surely bring more financial, social, and international dilemmas to our doorstep. I assure that when you go out looking for trouble, trouble finds you. Don't worry though, when Obama or Hitlery claim their assured victory you will still get the same things McCain would have brought you....more wars, more expenses, more social programs, more intrusive government and more soothing speeches that mean nothing. Once this Jerry Springer show of an election is over, I will be renouncing my Republican party membership and seeking a third party who more closely resemble any kind of traditional American conservative values, I have no other choice.

As to the State Chairman Jim Greer, he was suppose to be at this meeting on April 17,08 and at the close of the meeting Bill Bunting stated Mr Greer could not make it. Another lie, Jim Greer was not going to attend in the first place. Just a ploy to get members there. And my question to Ann Bunting how do you know that Sofie Lefebvre was Democrat? I do believe Ann Bunting & Bill Bunting you two were Democrat's up in New York so how dare you use that against Sofie Lefebvre? How dare Ann Bunting & Bill Bunting condemn Kim Beckner, Donna Beckner & Sofie Lefebvre, these three Republicans were called to take their oath from Jeff Lucas. They all accepted. Bill Bunting then reminded Sofie Lefebvre of monies owed from the St. Pete Rally. Is that legal Bill Bunting to exposed someone debt out in the public? Ann Bunting read from a printout from a website where Sofie Lefebvre is listed as saying she would not support McCain. Ann Bunting read where Kim Beckner is listed saying that he is only there because Ron Paul asks his supporters to join the REC's. Even though these three people just took the oath and stated they would support the Republican Party and John McCain for President. There was a motion to postpone the election of these three people until next month to give Bill Bunting an opportunity to talk to the State Party. And the motion was passed. Will some of them showed up and was escorted out of the meeting in April, and off of the property by the Pasco County Sheriff Dept. Wow what is this REC coming too when we have too have the sheriff office there to take Republicans out of meetings Mein Furher BUNTING. If anyone should of been taken out of this meeting it should of been Bill Bunting & Ann Bunting, then just maybe the unity would come together when these two people no longer existed.

Wow, I can't believe the arrogant ignorance of some of these posters. The true party diehards. You know, there are so many like me ( actually im independent usually vote rep) who consider Paul a last chance that was derailed by the media et al. We are so outraged at how he was, actively and artistically, misrepresented and marginalized by the media. God forbid we have a candidate who believes in the Constitution!!!! To hear these about these pathetic actions and statements by party hardliners...well... perhaps until there is an actual third party, there is no point in voting...let alone contributing to EITHER party

Do any Ron Paul supporters really believe the B.S that comes from their mouths. Paul supporters don't support Republican candidates or the Party and they are anachrists who believe the government carried out 9/11. I suggest that they start their own party called the LEMMINGS WHO BELIEVE 9/11 WAS AND INSIDE JOB RON PAUL SUPPORTERS PARTY !!

Wow, I guess I was right, the Republican Party does suck! Even more than the Dems!

We need an alternative to the two-party system. Too exclusive!

The Republican Party theme for this election cycle is United on the Path to Victory? While many of us had initially chosen a different candidate for president, the Pasco Republican Executive Committee stands firmly united for John McCain for President. Oh when did the REC endorsed John McCain for President Bill Bunting? We were recently called upon to affirm our position and we sent strong clear message that we stand together. Oh and again Bill Bunting who all stands together? Not all of the members of the REC stand together with you? Who ask you to affirm your position? And what kind of message did you send and to whom?

An ongoing spat between supporters of Republican presidential candidates John McCain and Ron Paul flared again Thursday, April 17, 2008 when pro-Paul dissidents were kicked out of a Pasco County GOP Executive Committee meeting. Sofie Lefebvre, a Paul supporter, said a sheriff's deputy escorted her and her husband out of the Land O'Lakes Senior Center, where the meeting was held… The feud isn't new. In late March, during an executive committee meeting, Bunting publicly questioned the party loyalty of three Paul supporters and wouldn't give them precinct appointments they had applied for. But he did have Jeff Lucas (very will known attorney)give these three people the Oath of the RPOF. Which was will you support the Republican Party and support John McCain for President. And all three of them said Yes. But then it was put to a vote to be held at the next meeting so, Bunting could check this out with the State Party? Does the State Party have anything against the Ron Paul people who are Republicans? Ron Paul himself is Republican. He later told the Pasco Times that he wanted unity behind McCain. The REC has not endorsed John McCain for President and cannot do so until they have the National Convention in Minnesota. The state GOP signaled Friday it was behind Bunting. "I've heard the chairman say that the time has come for unity in the party, and we're all now united behind McCain," said spokeswoman Katie Gordon.

I would like to know who is Katie Gordon, to be speaking for Chairman Jim Greer? Can’t Jim Greer speak for himself?

I am looking forward to our Republican Party picnic set for Saturday, May 3. The event is free, but you’ll need tickets. Call me at 727 862-1063 for further information or email pascogop@yahoo.com. . This will be a great opportunity for Republicans to meet their candidates and other Republicans.

This picnic will he at Fairhaven Farms- Hallelujah Land-SR52-just west of the Suncoast Parkway. Wow do I understand this is FREE? Is this for all Republicans? What a good way to meet all of the candidates who are running for office?
