Trashing Crist's tan
A New Republic writer is particularly snitty about the Charlie Crist tan she saw at the White House Correspondents' dinner: "...with all due respect to the guv's Mediterranean genes, that tan ain't the product of any half-hour in the sun. Crist's skin is baked. Dangerously baked. Damaged-beyond-its-years baked. Makes-Minority-Leader-Boehner-look-like-Conan-O'Brien baked. So I'm wondering: How will Crist's megatan play on the national stage?..."

Cristi's fake tan is the least of his worries on the national stage. Unless McCain is senile and a moron, he won't pick Cristi as his VEEP.

My favorite post on the link above...
"I am a Democrat and have never voted for Crist, but I will be the first to say he has been a pleasant surprise, both as attorney general and as governor. Unlike Jeb Bush, Crist is a Florida native and has a keener understanding of the complex issues facing Florida. "

this shows the level of STUPIDITY that exist in parts of the media. What does the degree of "melanin" in someone skin have to do with their capabilities, whether it be natural or temporary sun intiated (which is a natural human skin response to sunlight exposure to protect the human being and which response is different for different people). The New Republic must be the outlet meadia for the SS-Skinhead-Racist faction. What a "unamerican" hateful stupid article.

the 2nd 4:42: are you a buffoon? how is criticising someone's fake tan racist or skinhead?

Wow! In 2008, we are dealing with the Governor's complexion?
whether it be from tan-in-a-can, a tanning bed or whatever, who cares?
The Chinese will tan our hides people.
The Indians will tan our hides people.
Get with the program and address the slide of the dollar.
Check out why we are the laughing stock of the world.
And for those of you with smart alecky comments save them for your constituents that are fed by Fox. Remember, the owner of Fox owns SKY in Europe and when I am on business/pleasure trips to Europe they play us like fiddles.
Also, you same guys and gals that act so conservative and idiotic here in the states don't dare act so boorish you go overseas do you.
In fact, you behave yourselves and act properly. Shame on you for getting yourselves involved with shameful trivialities while our wonderful republic is burning.

4:50 only a skin head racist type wouldn't get it...maybe you have issues you have yet to admit to yourself.

Like I said numerous times, no chance John McCain will pick him as V.P.
Look for Romney or the nuclear option of Condi Rice if the democrats pair Obama/Clinton.
Posted by: | April 28, 2008 at 05:39 PM
5:39 do you refer to Condi as the nuclear option because so many who would otherwise vote Republican would not if she were on the ticket because we are sick of her serving as a Bushbot, neo-con lapdog?
I can barely imagine voting for McCain and his war mongering approach but there is no way I can take Condi as part of the equation.

Tan schman, y'all.
As long as there's integrity UNDER what's integumentary, it don't matter what color it is.
Dang. Now I need me a beer.

From the Herald...
Meghan McCain: "I wish I was as tan as Charlie Crist"
John McCain's daughter, Meghan, blogs her trip to Florida on her popular McCainBloggette.com, musing over the wonders of Cuban food, which she says is now "running a close second to Mexican, my #1 favorite food)."
There's lots of pictures from a fundraiser at the Biltmore, featuring Willy Chirino. Crist and Florida Republican Sen. Mel Martinez are among those pictured and sharp-eyed viewers will also pick out Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen making the rounds.

If the New Republic writer made the same comments about Obama's skin tone, the press would have made this a media sensation. But make a racist comment about a Republican -- ho hum.
