Accused murderer served Capitol lattes

Ever hit the Starbucks kiosk at the Doubletree in downtown Tallahassee? Remember this woman?

Kimberlycannon_3 Kimberly Cannon, 40, served Starbucks lattes and coffee to hundreds of Tallahassee's lawyers, lobbyists and lawmakers at the Doubletree Starbuck's kiosk. She started work there around the time of the PIP special session and worked through the budget-cutting and organizational sessions and all throughout this Spring's regular session.

But she's gone now. Leon County Sheriff's Office arrested her last Thursday, less than a week after session ended, on murder charges stemming from some sort of 13-year-old investigation in Santa Rosa County. Read the release here. Cannon has been transferred to Santa Rosa County jail.

The bad news for Cannon was that she was arrested just three days after she had gotten free of prison oversight. While working at Starbucks, she was finishing up a five-year sentence and served coffee as a part of a work release program she started in October, confirmed Department of Corrections spokeswoman Gretl Plessinger. Cannon had been serving time for a host of charges, like grand theft and defrauding financial businesses.

Buzz ordered far too many soy lattes from Cannon and found her very cheerful, helpful and professional.

Gosh, she should have made "friends" with one or two of them, after all what's a little felony charge to the members? It happens to the best of them eventually.

Scary! Even worse yet from the press release:

Leon and Santa Rosa County deputies staked out Cannon's residence in the 1100 Block of Idlewild Drive. Shortly before 1:00 AM this morning, Cannon arrived at the residence.

Shortly thereafter she was taken into custody.

During transport to the Sheriff's Office, Cannon unknowing to the deputy, slipped off her handcuffs.

When the deputy opened the cruiser door, Cannon fought with him and attempted to flee. A struggle ensued and during the conflict, Cannon reportedly attempted to take the deputy's gun. Cannon was taken into custody after a Taser was deployed.

Sheriff Larry Campbell said "this is a classic example of basic law enforcement. Deputies working together using tried and true tactics took a very dangerous person off the streets and out of our community".

too bad she didn't clip some lawyers when she had the chance.

hope you wore a parachute!

6:34 - me too

a parachute???? more like a blindfold....

6:34 - you "did" so many - how on earth would you remember? You were never sober or not high more than 10 min. at a time!!!!!

She related to Dean Cannon?

Jennifer...

Must be a slow news day?

CI

Didn't she raise the 'I should have ordered de-caf' defense?

She was near lawyers and lobbyists? Oh, the horror! W T F?

Give the devil her due. She made killer Vente Cappucino.

She should hire famed defense lawyer Jackie Chiles. I hear he has some experience in trials involving cafe latte's...

Despite her personal problems, she still served a "killer" latte.

It's all in the eyes... this split-tail is a freaking nut!

That is very funny! Maybe Kramer can get a finder's fee for referring her.

Sorry- I meant 9:10
