Clinton finished?
Hillary Rodham Clinton wanted a "game changer," but Tuesday may prove to be a game ender. Even though Clinton eked out a victory early today, her momentum was halted. Her last grasp at the nomination now may hinge on counting Florida's officially meaningless primary.
"The last month has been an exercise in denial, and the only thing that's been accomplished is her attempt to hurt Barack Obama,'' said Fort Lauderdale lawyer Mitchell Berger, veteran Democratic fundraiser and Obama supporter. "Tonight should show the superdelegates that there's no question that Sen. Obama has withstood the body blows and has shown not just by what has happened but by the way he has dealt with it that he is able to appeal to us in a better way than just division," Berger said.

but can he win the big states? No

He is going to be crushed in the general. Political pundits should not attempt to sway the electorate and the super delegates. They are worse at predicting political outcomes as weathermen were at predicting the weather before the dopplar radar...and those fancy plasma touch computer screens are NOT their form of the dopplar radar.
24 hour news has killed our nation's intelligence. I can get more useful information out of People magazine these days.

Obama is going to win the nomination and the general.
Turn off Fox News and read a bit.
McCain is an honorable guy but when it comes to healthcare, Iraq and the economy, to name a few, he is out of sync with the American people. Plain and simple.
On all those counts, he wants to continue the Bush Administration's policies. 80% of Americans feel that the country is going in the wrong direction and McCain has not offered a single idea to change that trajectory.
Every political pundit and elected official, particularly Republicans, foresee a slaughter for Republicans in November.
Finally!

Vote for Barack.
No more excuses. No more talk of unearned privileges.
President Obama will officially make race irrelevant.

Don't underestimate Obama in Florida. He has a great leader Kirk Wagar and staff headed by Teddy Johnston.florida is the leader in fundraising. Registration of new voters is going great. Some of the best political and fundraising people with experience are involved including Frank Sanchez,Beger, Bucky Clarkson, D'Alembert, Katz, Uhfelder, Wexler, Aaronberg, Ritter, etc.. The black turnout will be huge. Financing will not be a problem.
Of course if Crist is on the ticket it will be a much bigger challenge.
People are very tired of the war and all the resources being spent. The economy in Florida is terrible. President Obama would do wonders to change are image abroad and strengthen the dollar.
The good thing about the race is that McCain is a decent man and the race should be mostly on the issues.

McSame was a decent man until he willingly assumed the mantle of King George II. In a blatant act of pandering to conservatives, he has now identified himself as the wannabe heir of THE WORST PRESIDENT EVER. He deserves all the criticism that goes with that decision. Furthermore, in the unlikely event of his election, he's going to flip flop endlessly in a hopeless effort to satisfy all the conflicted and contradictory policies of the GOP wingnut coalition of the ignorant. Good luck making that work out, McSame.

Obama will win the nomination, and he will take it in November as well. If the Dems put “The Dream Ticket” together… not only will it win in November, it will be a freaking landslide.
Hillary would make a phenomenal VP or Cabinet Member. Throw in Biden a Secretary of State… and our Nation just might regain the power and respect that made us the greatest Nation on this planet.
I have immense respect for McCain and his service to this great nation, but it just isn’t going to happen. He should have followed through with his thoughts of switching parties in ’04. We’d still welcome you today, John.

Mc Cain and Obama will be the best race since Kennedy and Nixon. Except the age difference is huge between McCain and Obama. McCain better pick a great VP.
Posted by: | May 07, 2008 at 10:32 AM
What will hurt more Wright or McCain's war.not even close. How much has Wright cost the taxpayers.
Posted by: | May 07, 2008 at 10:34 AM
Crist can't save mcCain outside of Florida.
Posted by: | May 07, 2008 at 10:44 AM
McCain doesn't have to worry about being "saved", within or outside of Florida. Osama Obama will undergo one of the most brutal beatings a Dem has had in recent political history. As soon as he turns away from the far left to attract votes in the general, he's going to start losing support. He can't win with just black voters and that's a fact. I come from a blue collar Democrat family and I hate to say it but no one im my family will vote for Obama.

Count Florida's 1.75 MILLION votes.
Or myself and 1/2 of the other FL Dem's will sit this one out!

I can't believe it either. I am the only one in my entire family (all Democrats) that will vote for Obama if he is the nominee. I am really ashamed that my siblings (eight of us in total) feel this way. I have pleaded with them, but to no avail. If they can't vote for Hillary they will either not vote or vote for McCain.

Obama will help improve our image abroad. That is essential
Posted by: | May 07, 2008 at 11:12 AM
11:07, Where were you, Hillary, and "1/2 of the other FL Dems" when the pinheads in Tally Town pulled this stunt?
... anuyone... anyone... Bueller... Bueller... Bueller...
Shut your apathetic pie-hole and get on board if you truly want a better future.
Posted by: | May 07, 2008 at 11:13 AM
11:12 - yes, image is everything right?? Is that why Germany, Italy and France all picked CONSERVATIVE leaders??
We do not need a socialist running our country.
Posted by: | May 07, 2008 at 11:14 AM
11:11 Nice try. Well not really a nice try, actually, its pretty lame.
Posted by: | May 07, 2008 at 11:15 AM
Neither Clinton nor Obama can win without the superdelegates. And although she needs more superdelegates than he does, either could still get enough.
Obama has not shown he is electable. He is winning primaries on the 90%+ vote of AAs. That won't be enough to win in the general.
I won't vote for either of them if my primary vote doesn't count. Berger ought to know that talking about our primary being "meaningless" just reminds those of us who voted how little the Dem party seems to value us.

“You can have your Tiger Woods (R-code for n_ger), we’ve got Senator McCain (R-code for old, senile, white, rich, and McSame as Dubya)”
Posted by: | May 07, 2008 at 11:21 AM
11:16 Doesn't your conscience ever bother you just a little bit? Your political posturing and game playing are typical of what's wrong with the GOP, especailly the fascist Rovians and Norquistas. The GOP needs to dump people like you and make an serious effort to improve their image, or 2008 will be just the beginning of the end.
Posted by: | May 07, 2008 at 11:26 AM
Let's see, Hillary will win all of the remaining 6 primary's. She is polling ahead of Obama in W.VA by 29%, in KY by 34%, and in Purto Rico by 51%, She is also leading by a smaller amount in OR, SD and Montana.
Not to mention that the DNC rules clearly state that "NO STATE CAN BE STRIPED OF MORE THAN 50% OF THEIR DELEGATES". So when the rules committee meets on May 31st. They will then, have to include 1/2 of the Delegate count in both MI and FL per the results of each states primary.

Thank you for your input, 1:11.. errr... Hillary Hack. Now please get back to begging for donations for a crashing campaign.

As a Democratic campaign stategist for the past 20+ yrs. I can tell you to NEVER depend on the under 30 year olds or the African American Community on getting out the vote. We have depended on them in the last 6 election cycles and they did not turn out in the numbers that they were suppose to. In other words the polling is junk if they sit their butts at home. We would have been happy to get 40% turn out of those two demographics. We got less than 20% some years and never over 30%.

As a Democratic campaign stategist for the past 20+ yrs. I can tell you to NEVER depend on a Democratic campaign stategist... See Dubya... TWICE!

As a Republican campaign strategist (aka Swiftboat ad man) for the last two elections, I'd like to continue to gloat about the divisive DEM primaries, but unfortunately it seems to be bringing out record numbers of DEM voters we have tradionally counted on to stay home, such as the under 30s and African Americans. The truth is, I find it hard to gloat when I think the GOP is toast in 2008.

What are the Obama supporters going to do when their candidate loses next Tues. in West Va. by 30% and the follwing Tues. by 40%?
I guess they will try to not count those two states, either.
Posted by: | May 07, 2008 at 04:58 PM
What are the Hillary Hacks going to do now that it's clear their candidate is done.
I guess they will continue to pretend she didn't sign the pledge.

Hillary needs to go back to what was working. Attack Obama on Rev Wright, "bittergate", & his tie to that terrorist in Chicago.
She needs to be aggressive if she wants to win. Who cares if Obama is severely damaged by her attacks.
If Obama wins the nomination & loses the general election to McCain, Hillary can re-run in 2012 with no strong opposition
Posted by: | May 07, 2008 at 08:51 PM
Barack Obama & Jeremiah Wright are big racists that will get slaughtered in November when the 527's swiftboat him.
He can't win in a general election. He has low support from white blue-collar voters.

All the losers ( Kerry, Gore, Carter etc) are telling her to quit. Why would anyone listen to them. They already showed how smart they were and how sucessful also.
