Crist talks up VP on national TV
Gov. Charlie Crist went to New York today to tout an economic stimulus package for Florida. But a CNBC anchor first wanted to talk about his trip to John McCain's cabin in Arizona this weekend. (See the video here.)
"Just a little social time with the great U.S. Senator John McCain," Crist said of the trip. The anchor, knowing Crist would probably not bite, did not even inquire if Crist was seeking the VP slot and instead asked what McCain would be looking for in a running mate.
"He needs somebody that he has good chemistry with ... that he believes would be a good president," Crist said.

Make me gag. I have friends in various parts of the country and every single one of them state unequivocally that Charlie Crist is NOT a contender for VP. He's laughable at best. If McCain wants to lose after what the Dems have handed to him with their primary debacle, this would be the way to do it.

Debbie...are all of your friends in prison or living in caves? I've talked to people from California, to New York, to Ohio, to Virginia...you name it...they all like Charlie Crist, they all think he would be a great running mate, and most want him to be selected. The only people who don't like Crist are the same people who supported Gallagher...then Romney...if McCain wants to win..he WILL pick Crist.

"he's looking for someone whom he believes will be a good President"?
the thought of Charlie Crist as President of the United States scares the crap out of me!
if Chuck Crist ever becomes President I'll move to Cuba (just don't forget to send my pension and social security checks).
let's face it, Chuck Crist isn't even capable of being the Governor of Florida as he's shown over the past sixteen months.
Chuck Crist was barely a capable state senator.
does this mean McCain doesn't plan on seeing things through for the duration?

"he's looking for someone whom he believes WILL BE A GOOD PRESIDENT"????
Senator McCain, you've got one foot in the grave and one less VP candidate to consider!!!!
Please tell me that's not a typo, Alex!!!
AAAAAAAHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHAAAAAAA!

I like Charlie Crist. He is what the Republican Party should get back to being.

Yeah, Milhous, he could be peruaded to have a conscience, but on the other hand, it's becoming apparent that he's not very bright.
Is Goldwater around? He was the last GOP with a heart and a few good ideas. Sorry to hear that! You mean he just vanished when Bush "won" in 2000, eh?

We need a Gay Veep..one with a tan white hair and eyebrows that move when he lies about the Great things the GOP has done to Fla

remember anything can happen. remember dan quayle. at least quayle passed the bar exam.
let's hope there are no bad hurricanes either because if there are the fla taxpayers could get hit with a 600 million dollar tax increase on their insurance bills. I am sure McCain won't want any part of that.

You idiots voted for him..............

I think terminator should be the VP choice. He knows everything, afterall.
Posted by: | May 22, 2008 at 11:12 PM
Crist and McCain are a good fit ideologically, but when it gets to the personal factors, there are questions that people outside Florida don't know about.
And if he got picked and they won. Florida has Gov. Kottkamp.
The Democrats are already salivating.

Charlie for VP! Marco for LG!
Posted by: | May 23, 2008 at 08:35 AM
I just think it is so open minded of the republicans to have a gay man on the ticket. Way to go republicans!

I was watching CNBC when Cristi came on. His skin was the color of a Home Depot sign. I thought my TV was broken.
He also lied to the entire audience as he claimed property taxes in FL were reduced "significantly".
Liar with fluorescent skin = self delusion = total ignorance

Marco for LG? Are you kidding me???? That guy just needs to go away!
Posted by: | May 23, 2008 at 10:09 AM
Geeze then we get a trial lawyer for Gov in Fla. Help! Morgan and Morgan moves in to the Gov mansion. Charlie is dating a married woman! Lets see,... a gay man as VP with a pretend friend who is MARRIED, geeze. Is Ballard in the cabin in Arizona with Crist and McCain sitting around a campfire, just picture it. Carole what will you wear? St. Johns?

The Gov needs to help his Republican peers save their seats and get to work in his great State! He should be on a bus travelling the State saving the seats that are in jeopardy. Charlie, get back down here and save the Republican planet!

Chuck's numbers are dropping like a rock, we’re only three months away from the reality of his scam (A-1) hitting the fan… and the dink is One-N-Done! Go right ahead McSame, pick him.
Chuck may be able to fool a bunch of Florida blue hairs (temporarily)… but on a national stage, the empty suit is toast.
McSame/McFraud ’08! PLEASE!

Most Republicans prefer the baboon who is the present occupant over Crist, who is at least human. I'd be surprised if McCain, whose brain has apparently turned to jelly over the last few years, had the good sense to nominate Charlie.
If the votes are counted, it will be a landslide nationally for whoever the Democrat is, but Florida would be close if Crist is on the ticket.
That is, if you can trust the vote counters, which you can't.

Landslide for the Democrats?
LMAO!!!!
Posted by: | May 23, 2008 at 11:00 AM
Landslide for Democrats?????
Given the problems the two top Dems face, any Dem planning a victory party might want to hold off for a bit.
There are a lot of voters still in the closet, who won't admit that they won't vote for Hillary or Obama, because they know their reasons are not socially acceptable---but those are their reasons, regardless.

I think it's hilarious: Just picture it, Republican Gov. Kottkamp in the mansion, and Morgan & Morgan, with their chairs pulled right up to the solar heaters.
Talk about the peoples' house!!!!

Boy 11:43, you sure sound jealous. Go back to school, if you are smart enough, you too can be a lawyer. Or, are you already one and Morgan wouldn't give you a job so you are mad? Either way, you sound like a very angry, jealous person.
