Dems targeting Cuban-American seats

HIALEAH — In a packed social center in the heart of South Florida's most Republican city, elderly Cuban-American voters warmly greet a congressional candidate.

The city's longtime former mayor, Raul Martinez, is a familiar face. But he's no Republican.Instead, he is leading a Democratic challenge that hopes to break the Republican stranglehold on Miami's large Cuban-American vote in congressional elections this fall. More here.

Comments

It's clear. Raul Martinez provides much more than Lincoln Diaz-Balart's empty rhetoric. He'd be a force in Congress.

FL GOP needs to stop being hypocritical on Cuba policy.

I joined the GOP because they support free trade and personal liberty - or used to.

How dare the government tell me where I can and cannot go, and how I may spend the money I have earned. That is oppressive and totalitarian.

Yawn....it'll be interesting to see which of the three D candidates the DCCC actually puts their money behind. While they can probably take out one of the three Cubans, they simply don't have the money to take out all three of them AND Tom Feeney....Yawn...wake me up when/if the D's ever make a decision as to which one they're going to really help....

As a Republican I hope the Cubans get taken out. I am sick of their Cubancentric politics and support for illegal immigration. They need to suffer another dose of sociaism and determine if they want to really get on the AMERICA train or stay mired in their Miami as the capitol of Latin America mentality.

After that it is time to take out Senator Martinez. He is nothing more than an ungrateful traitor.

"President Bush on Wednesday criticized Democrats in Congress for their approach to dealing with the nation's housing crisis and soaring energy prices and called anew for an extension of expiring tax cuts and government wiretapping authority."

drunken douchebag desperately desiring to be relevant or even coherent.

you piggies got a long, tough road to hoe, before you get the taste of this dipwad out of the nation's and the world's mouth!!

exactly how much do you estimate the lying gasbag is drinking daily now?

Those Cuban-American seats are hot!

Carlos Curbelo would never say that! RAUL'S A CROOK!

Carlos Curbelo would never say that! RAUL'S A CROOK!

U.S. Reps. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and brothers Mario and Lincoln Diaz-Balart's seats are very safe like Congressman Young's seat here.

This is stirring up the water down here in South Florida and it makes for good fun.

The whole thing is a Cuban Fiesta with the other Democrats sitting on the sidelines while we are all held hostage by this crew.

NICE MEEKS
NICE WASSERMan Shultz

NICE

Do not believe this crap! Cubans are Republican! Remember the Bay of Pigs when that Democrat President went back on his word. We are proud people and will never fall for the newspaper garbage that is printed here!!
