Gelber endorses Obama

Dan Gelber, one of Florida's wannabe super-delegates, blogs his endorsement of Obama: "...Doesn’t he have a Jewish problem? Yes, but only because the Internet doesn’t have a truth key. Don’t believe everything you read in a viral chain email. As an American Jew, a strong and secure Israel is a paramount concern of mine. Not a single fiber in my body worries that Sen. Obama will not cherish Israel with the same fervor I would expect of any American President. Anyone who says otherwise is simply trying to exploit passions for Israel for partisan gain – and that is truly endangering to Israel....

"...The list could go on, but here is the rub. I believe the ingredients most lacking in government these days are political courage and honesty, which I define as telling the public what they need to hear rather than merely what they want to hear. Too few public officials demonstrate these qualities. Most run away from political honesty because they believe the public will punish leaders that feed them anything other than a diet of vacuous platitudes and rank populism. The closer I watch Obama, the more I listen to him, the more I become utterly convinced that he is one of those rare people in politics that is not afraid to speak honestly and, if necessary, act courageously. And that is the tonic our nation sorely needs."

What a brave move. Wait until it's over, then make an endorsement.

Ya know... if you think about it, Obama and Gelber make a great couple...

One loser endorsing a potential loser...fitting.

yeah democrats LOVE israel - that's why they celebrate when nancy pelosi and jimmy carter go and make nice with syria (state-sposnor of terrorism) and hamas (terrorist group funded by iran) which are dedicated to the destruction of israel - yup, sounds like they love israel to me

Save it... schmuck!

Great move, Rep. Gelber -- keep up the good work!

4:40...now watch your language

4:37,

Bill Clinton did more for the Middle East peace process than any president to date.

Although you may disagree with his strategy, President Carter has also made serious efforts to achieve peace in the region.

Bush, on the other hand, has done absolutely nothing to bring the parties to the table and stop the killing of innocent people by both sides.

Yep both Carter and Clinton have done more for muslim terrorists than any other President.

Shame, shame Gelber - Perhaps you should spend a bit more time at the Kotel and less time trying to appease those who adore those who despise Jews.

I salute Sen Gelber for his endorsemet ..We have all had enough of the Clintons and we need to Zero in on Mc Cains plans for Florida..By the time the election comes around the state should be about flat broke..Insurance taxes and gas continue skyrockeing ..Florida needs more of the same ..Kudos to Rep Gelber..If this economy keeps up the McCain Bush economy will deliver the state and the Legislature to the dems..Nobody cares about abortion and creationism when they are liivn in their car..Hey everybody..Their are advertising your unpaid taxes for sale the amount just hit a 60 year high..Enjoy !!

Mazel tov!!!! I am also a Jewish Floridian for Obama:-)

Wow, a lot of venom for this item.

Session's over, guys. Take a nice vacation.

9:44 Sorry, not a chance.

End the occupation.
Dan, you represent Miami Beach, not Tel Aviv.

7:18 your comment "..Florida needs more of the same good GOP policies to keep them poo folks in their place"

Tell me how Nobama's plan to send $50 Billion out of this country to fight poverty in Africa is going to help the citizens of this country. Call me ignorant, but I just don't see the logic behind this plan. If he wants to fight poverty in Africa, let him run for UN Secretary-General. As President, his job is to improve the wealth of this country and not rob it.

Idiot at 4:54,

Most experts agree that George W. Bush has done more for Muslim terrorists than any president in U.S. history.

Nobama
