Max Linn's first donor? Rep. Young's ex-wife
Marian Young, the first wife of Rep. C.W. Bill Young, was the first donor to the Max Linn campaign to defeat her ex-husband for Pinellas County's District 10 seat.
Reached Friday at her home, Marian Young, 76 of Madeira Beach, said her support for Linn isn't about his political positions.
"I’m with him because we’re friends," she said, declining to comment further. Linn said he used to be her financial planner.
Marian and Bill Young were married more than 30 years but divorced in 1985. Young then married Beverly Angello, his current wife. They have three sons.
According to the Federal Election Commission, Marian Young donated $2,300 on March 5, about a week before Linn formally announced his candidacy at the Greater Pinellas Democratic Club.

that's hysterical! Using her alimony check for a campaign. Isn't she about 90?
Does she mean she is "with him". Quite a step down from his barbie squeeze.

NOthing worse than a woman scorned!!!! For God Sake Marian ,get over him. Its been 25 years. a quarter of a century.
Posted by: | May 16, 2008 at 05:18 PM
That woman doesn't know the difference between a republican or a democrat, a donkey or an elephant. That's why she says it isn't about his political positions because she doesn't know his political positions. "No Marian, that doesn't refer to sexual".
Posted by: | May 16, 2008 at 05:19 PM
IF Max wins, that means Young gets to stop paying alimony. Pretty good trade if you ask me.
Posted by: | May 16, 2008 at 05:25 PM
This is good. Young pays alimony, she in turn uses his alimony to make a contribution to his opponent which, in turn, could cause her to receive a decrease in alimony. Somebody needs to turn her lightbulb on.

What is the line about women -- think like a man but take away reason and accoutability...
Posted by: | May 16, 2008 at 05:50 PM
Holy s*it....shouldn't this be on E News and not the SPT?
Posted by: | May 16, 2008 at 05:59 PM
Go Bill!
"that's hysterical! Using her alimony check for a campaign. Isn't she about 90?"...it says her age idiot
Posted by: | May 16, 2008 at 06:18 PM
The first Mrs. Young is a very nice woman and not a candidate for anything.
Jeez, cut her some slack.
Posted by: Devon Raze | May 16, 2008 at 07:32 PM
Why did she keep the last name? Is she trying to live off of the Young brand here in Pinellas? And please don't say "it was for her children's sake".....
Posted by: | May 16, 2008 at 10:33 PM
More often than not ex-wives are that for a reason and Marian has proved this once again.
Posted by: | May 17, 2008 at 12:41 AM
1241am ? wow.
um. what was the current mrs young's job when she met mr young ?

Dumas:
She worked in washington on a subcommittee. good try, cheap shot.
Posted by: | May 17, 2008 at 10:19 AM
Let me see. a divorce 23 years ago, long time ago, a resident of Pinellas makes a campaign contribution and the Times thinks this is newsworthy? I guess the times is running Linn for Congress. Not surprising.
Posted by: | May 17, 2008 at 10:21 AM
Dumas:
Maybe he just didn't like his ex-wife. ever thought of that. You make it sound like Young is the only person to ever get a divorce. and 23 years ago at that. Everyone has a right to love who they want, and he obviously didn't love the ex. His right. Not yours.

Devon:
Cut her some slack? She knew what she was doing when she commented to the Times. She is now fair game. Now she has to live with it. Hope it was worth it after 23 years. She isn't a friend of the Playboys. He put her up to this and didn't blink an eye at what might be in store for this elderly lady. As long as he benefits he would sell his mother. Probably did.

Stephanie Garry:
A 23 year old divorce is really old news.
Posted by: | May 17, 2008 at 10:31 AM
Be careful you guys; it's sSturday and the Young boys don't work on the weekend at the jobs we taxpayers bought them... so they just might hit the blogs to protect daddy and the boodoggles.
Posted by: | May 17, 2008 at 11:22 AM
Leave Marian alone. She is elderly and alone and was used for political play by Max Linn. Everyone knows his social circle and she is definitely not in it. The embarrassment of being left 23 years ago and still being single is a mean thing to blast, even on a rag blog. Shame on you, Max Linn to do this to the elderly!!!! You lose my vote.
Posted by: | May 17, 2008 at 11:37 AM
11:22:
How do you know the Young boys don't work on weekends. Are you a stalker? Actually, both do work on weekends.
Posted by: | May 17, 2008 at 11:39 AM
Good to have 11:39 around to set the record straight on the Young boys work schedules even it appears that they are a stalker since that is apparently the only way to know what someone does with their time.

Hey 1:45, have you ever heard of a run-on sentence? Try some punctuation. Perhaps if you had paid more attention in school you could have your own job, instead of always being angry at others for theirs.
Posted by: | May 17, 2008 at 03:09 PM
Hey 3:09, have you ever heard of a blog? Try some different Kool Aid. Perhaps if you had a daddy in Congress, you too could have a job paid for by the taxpayers, instead of always shilling for those that already do...

Max Linn's first donor? Rep. Young's ex-wife.
That's my best laugh thus far today!!!
Posted by: | May 17, 2008 at 03:24 PM
It's not much of a "blog" comment if you can't understand the comment....simp....
Posted by: | May 17, 2008 at 04:26 PM
Good job Max. Drag an elderly ex into your pathetic smear campaigns because you don't have any political ground. You owe that poor woman an apology. You WERE her financial adviser? She fire you too? You will use anyone Max. Try for the "landing the plane on a highway" trick again. That pi**ed off a lot of people. You are really an "icky" person.
Posted by: | May 17, 2008 at 05:52 PM
1:45: Are you a pedophile? You are very focused on the Young boys on every blog. Or are you just jealous that Young has no use for you? HIT the nail on the head, didn't it? Ouch.
Posted by: | May 17, 2008 at 05:55 PM
Why is this such a big deal? Is it becuase it is practically his only donor?
5:55 is correct, Max is more "scorned" than Young's first wife!
Probably the reason he is running?
Posted by: | May 17, 2008 at 06:03 PM
How coincidental that Marian was Linns first donor. First donor, hummmmm. was she standing in line at his campaign office the first day the door opened? Or Maybe dear old Max solicited her to be the first donor. The only way the first check would have been acknowledged. Marian, how stupid are you to fall for this idiot and his childish games. Do you believe anyone believes it was coincidence that YOU were the first donor. You've just been had and made a big fool of. AGAIN. Be careful who you trust. He could care less that people are laughing at you.
Posted by: | May 17, 2008 at 07:38 PM
The ex of 23 years runs to Maxs office, bangs on his campaign door, screaming, let me in, let me in, i want to be the first campaign contributer into your account so you can unseat my ex-husband of 23 years. Don't take any one elses contributions first, I just have to be the first. Yeah, now that sounds about right, and God Bless you Max for opening that campaign door to receive your first campaign contribution from none other than Marian Young. What a coincidence. Did you frame your first campaign contribution from your very first contributor. How exciting. Did you do a photo op too and maybe wine and dine her? Did you let your boyfriend come along too! Sounds like a good segment for the funniest home videos.
What was that stupid woman thinking when she agreed to do this?
Posted by: | May 17, 2008 at 10:05 PM
Max is scorned, humiliated by his Ken Doll and lonely and no one wants to play with him. Even his other democratic primary opponents are laughing their heads off at his childish antics. Just makes it easier for them to beat him.
Posted by: | May 17, 2008 at 10:07 PM
I think Max is hot!
Posted by: | May 18, 2008 at 12:45 PM
Max Linn likes to date his mother all Max Linn's clients are older women. Did you ever think why he is always with older women that had money. Max linn has spent about $ 200,000.00 on his run for congress and no one knows who he is? Ed Helms recruited Max along with Liz McCallum the two losers. They made a movie about Max Linn years ago Richard Gear plaid Max in the American Gigalo. Hay Max watch your bank account Liz likes to float checks with no money in the account.

Max Looks like Howdy Doody or better yet a cross between Gomer Pyle and Barney Fife. Perfect for the ex-Mrs. Young. She looks like Aunt Bea.
Posted by: | May 18, 2008 at 02:36 PM
She's gonna have to contribute another $2300.
Posted by: | May 18, 2008 at 07:24 PM
Since the creep set her up through the St.Pete Trash he ought to have the decency to give the elderly lady her money back. But he is not known for his decency, is he?
Posted by: | May 18, 2008 at 07:25 PM
I remember Aunt Bea. Does Marian sew and cook Gooseberry pies, Andy?
Posted by: | May 18, 2008 at 07:26 PM
Marian used her alimony from Young to contribute to the pukes campaign, therefore, Young contributed to Linns campaign. Oh, well, Young loves a good campaign and probably finds it humorous to know it's his money. Someone ought to tell him since he won't read this rag. He has been quite the gentleman to the ex. uh oh.
Posted by: | May 18, 2008 at 07:31 PM
3:13: Perhaps if you had a daddy at all that loved you. Did he beat you? did he tell you that you were a mistake or did he leave your poor mom before you were born. I am sorry for you but maybe someday you could have a son of your own, then you would understand the love and bond between a father and son.
Posted by: | May 18, 2008 at 08:52 PM
OK you Young boys... it's time to get to bed... you have to work in the morning. Our taxes bought you the jobs, the least you could do is get to work on time.
Posted by: | May 18, 2008 at 09:53 PM
ok reporter, time to go to bed and dream happy thoughts about all the lives you try to destroy for sport. how do you sleep?
Posted by: | May 19, 2008 at 11:40 AM
has anyone told Marian Young that is illegal to accept funds from a candidate and then turn around and contribute them back? Honey, you could go to jail IF that were the case, and you wouldn't look too good in prison blues. Maybe the Federal elections should look into this one. too convenient. Smells fishy. Sounds like some campaign laws might have been violated by Marian Young and Max Linn. Hope she has an attorney as good as her financial advisor.

FEC was already looking into long before you came up with the bright idea. good idea though. She wants to play ball with the big boys, well, Batters Up!!!!!
