Putting the bite on GOP donors
The fourth annual Charlie Crist Fishing Trip will be held in the Keys at the end of the month, with event chairman Rodney Barreto (Fish and Wildlife Commission member) prominently featured in the invitation flyers. It was at this GOP fund-raising event last year, you will recall, that Crist got a life-threatening bite from a brown recluse spider that aggravated him on his first overseas trip to Israel.

So what size carbon footprint is this event?

Driving on US Highway 19 is life-threatening. Getting bit by a spider is an annoyance.

Another Charlie party, does that man ever work. Lots of people get bit by spiders but don't make the newspapers. Unless they are sissies of course.

Barreto's a total sleazebag who's been corrupting Miami-Dade County government for years.
If he's involved you know it's a shakedown on behalf of all the monied interests.
Maybe we'll all get lucky and the boat will spring a big leak a few miles out past the gulfstream.

Does Chuck even know how to spell work?
RECALL “THE PEOPLE’S MISTAKE!”

I've fished and dove in the Keys since 1975. They should tar and feather every GOP that sets foot past Card Sound. Once one of the great wonders of the United States, the place has been ruined by development and pollution, and the pro-growth Republicans are responsible.

What do you idiots think, that a Republican Governor shouldn't raise money for his party in an election year?
Maybe you Democrats on here think Crist should follow the lead of Chiles, Graham and Nelson and not raise money for party operations, or simply pay lipservice. That worked pretty well for you since you lost all pretense of leadership in the nineties, and have been buried
on your backbenches since. Not having Sink raise money?
Nothing from Kendrick or DWS?
Bullsh*t jealousy. Your idea of party unity is in picketing your own headquarters and banding together to sue Howard Dean.
Raise a ton of money, a boatload of it, Charlie, and spend it all kicking their tails.

I can't believe the Governor would associate with Baretto. Charlie has class and ethics.

It will cost 20000 dollars to fish with the Governor. Amazing consider how bad the budget is for the needy. That would buy awful lot of services for children and the eldery.

better keep raising the $ Greer keeps spending like a drunken sailor

Well then, 1140, Senator Obama is raising 55 million a month in contributions, more than any candidate ever has anywhere. Clinton loaned her campaign 6.5 million. Why don't you get them to buy the services for the children and elderly?
Amazing.

Money is important in politics, but more important than money are issues. The RPOF is going to lose on the issues in 2008. They will lose at least one net congressional seat in Florida. I expect them to lose at least six Florida House seats. I see only a minor change in the Florida Senate (one additional Democratic seat), but it could be a major member that loses. They might actually start representing the average Floridian again when they continue to lose seats.
