The audacity of gridlock
Barack Obama officials set up for Wednesday's rally at the St. Pete Times Forum. [Chris Zuppa, Times]
TAMPA -- If you're planning on going to the Barack Obama rally on Wednesday, go early, expect to search for parking and don't expect that having a ticket will guarantee you a seat.
Rally organizers say once the St. Pete Times Forum, which holds about 20,000 people, is full, ticket-holders will be turned away. And as of this afternoon, tickets to see the Democratic presidential candidate were going at lightning speed. More here.

This is music to the ears of all freedom loving Americans. Out with the totalitarians. Go Barack!

It would seem that the Tampa Bay area has gotten with the program... what say you Hillary? Come on now, stop hurting yourself and start helping the Party elect the next POTUS!
We'd be equally honored and blessed to have you in the Administration that will fix what Dubya and Dickey have nearly destroyed.

Why did they bood it at such a small place? Wanted a sell out and were afraid it wouldn't because he gave Florida the shaft?

Well 4:59 & 5:01... thanks to your boys Dubya and Dickey... they have, and young American men and women are dying in Iraq because of it... but I suspect you've made a profit over it.
... you anti-American scum! People like you are a disgrace to this great Nation, please leave ASAP.

If Obama ends up winning the Dem Nomination. Which is far from decided. He will lose FL, by double digits in Nov. Florida will not give him a win, Period. He won't win any of the Red States. He will lose all of the Southern States(which include NC, SC, GA, VA, LA, MS, TN etc. He will not win Ohio or MI. PA is not a likely winner for him either. So, Obama supporters, where is your candidate going to pick up enough Electoral Delegates to win the WH?
Posted by: | May 20, 2008 at 05:21 PM
Hey 5:03. If that were the case, why haven't we heard a peep out of John Murtha, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, et al, since the Dems came into power in 06'? You know why, because they were handed a slice of the war pie once they took over. According to me, this is a battle about the haves and have nots. Now that both sides are getting a slice, the war is not such a hot topic. Why is that?
Posted by: Donald Lance | May 20, 2008 at 05:30 PM
But for those who are able to get inside the Forum and attend the rally, Obama will feed everybody with loaves and fishes.
Posted by: Zhombre | May 20, 2008 at 06:28 PM
Why would anyone want to see this racist?
Obama, you & Rev Wright's bigotted minions need to get out of our state.
Posted by: | May 20, 2008 at 06:43 PM
Zhombre- I love it. Personally, I was wondering if the concession stands will be selling Kool Aid!
Posted by: | May 20, 2008 at 06:43 PM
I don't know about Kool Aid but concessions sales might include these items:

"Barack Obama will require you to work. He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism. That you put down your divisions. That you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zones. That you push yourselves to be better. And that you engage. Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual, uninvolved, uninformed." -- Michelle Obama

Hillary has just been declared the winner of Kentucky by huge margins. Exit polls show white blue collar worker not supporting Obama much. Only around 30% of democrats there say they will vote for Obama if he gets the nomination. HE IS UNELECTABLE.
Obama will lose big in November unless Hillary wins the nomination.
Posted by: | May 20, 2008 at 07:13 PM
MICHELLE OBAMA IS ALSO UNAMERICAN.
Did you know, this is the first time she has been proud to be an American? She said it herself. You can hear it for yourself on YouTube. No wonder, middle America do not like the Obamas
Posted by: | May 20, 2008 at 07:15 PM
Let's give Barack Obama & Rev Wright a warm southern welcome the next time they come to Florida.
Hillary supporters if Obama gets the nomination, WE VOTE FOR JOHN MCAIN!
If Obama loses in Nov., she can re-run in 2012 and SHE could win big.
(After June 6th, no matter how much Hillary says he supports Obama, WE STILL VOTE FOR MCCAIN! She has no choice but to say she support Obama)

Republicans never turn out at these daytime events in these great numbers.
WAIT I KNOW WHY-WE HAVE JOBS!
GOP-See ya'll at the polls when we do show up.

Maybe there IS a good solution to the issue about seating Florida delegates.
YES seat the Florida delegation with one notable exception: do NOT seat the SUPERDELEGATES -- they should not participate because it was THEM that created this entire nonsense about rescheduling the primary at the cost of having Florida voters IGNORED so maybe it is THEM that at the convention should be ignored and the VOTERS heard.

Don't worry, Obama is no dummy. He realizes he MUST pick Hillary as his VP or he will lose against McCain. That will allow Hill and Bill to actually run the country right over Obama. Obama will be nothing but a meek mannered little figure head and the good boy doing what Hillary asks. We all know where the power will be and Obama can't do a damn thing about it if Hill wants to be VP.

Will there be free KOOLAID?
Posted by: Lou | May 20, 2008 at 08:29 PM
Yes, Obama will be serving the Kool Aid and Iced Tea also. Go Hillary the first VP to actually run our country. She will keep the BOY in his place and get things done while he stands around and looks darkly pretty.
Posted by: Hill Will Prevail | May 20, 2008 at 08:41 PM
Barack Obama will not choose Hillary.
John McCain may pick Condoleeza Rice & then it would be game over for Obama.
Posted by: | May 20, 2008 at 08:46 PM
I can't wait for McBush to go down and have Clinton and her hubby use their power to get change in D.C. It will be a great day for our Nation. Even as the VP, I agree, she will be the epicenter of power in D.C. Obama can just go on vacation for 4 years with Michelle and the two girls. Clinton will be a great President-designate.
Posted by: | May 20, 2008 at 08:46 PM
That is exactly why Obama will not pick Hillary.
Hillary supporters will be pissed when she is not on the ticket & lots of them will not support Obama.
Heck, most may not support Obama even with Hillary as V.P.
They know she can re-run in 2012 if he loses.
Posted by: | May 20, 2008 at 08:50 PM
Obama will not pick Hill for VP for the simple reason the Clintons would be more trouble than they are worth.

You notice that every one of the hateful posts are not signed. Obviously there is only one Republican KKK member on this discussion board and like any good little troll, we can just ignore him. Thank full I will be there tomorrow to listen to hope and forget all the hate that the Republican party wants us to have in our hearts.

Any real DEMs posting tonight? Anyone not laughing at the old Rovette (7:15 etc, etc.) pretending to be a DEM? Sorry Charlene, you've got a KoolAid smile and a visible blue streak a mile wide.

Or we could ignore a patronizing jerk like you, Marc. Have fun at the rally. Remember you are the person you have been waiting for, so you don't need a date. And remember to bring your hope and your audacity too. Don't forget and leave them in the sock drawer with your rolling papers.

It's about time you evil right-wing republican blow-hards are finally denuded and exposed.
Here is another example of how your right-wing talking points no longer work:

Marc,
Lots of democrats here do not like Obama. If you do not believe me, just look at the exit polling from Kentucky, West Virginia, Ohio & Pennsylvania.
Lots of Clinton supporters will rather have McCain than Obama in the White House.
Posted by: | May 20, 2008 at 10:01 PM
Interesting 10:01, those states are all KKK strongholds. Could that be why he polls poorly there?
Posted by: Marc | May 20, 2008 at 10:05 PM
10:05pm
Say what you want, if B. Obama loses just 3 out of the 4 states of Florida, Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania, you can turn out the lights. Have you seen a electoral map lately?
Posted by: | May 20, 2008 at 10:10 PM
Yes, that's right, Marc. Ohio and Pennsylvania were among the first states to secede from the Union and join the Confederacy. I think I read that in Howard Zinn's Peoples History. I really got to love your thick-headedness. If people don't vote for Obama, they must be racists; there can be no other reason. I'm sorry but that kind of concrete block reasoning is what drove me away from contemporary liberalism.
Posted by: Zhombre | May 20, 2008 at 10:11 PM
Zhombre, I have only been in Ohio a few times so I am not sure about their disposition, but certainly Pennsylvania is hugely negro-phobic. I have spent many months there in both eastern and western parts of the state and it is not pretty. It is probably more a lack of African Americans in the western part that drives fear of dark colored people than actual hatred or history.
Posted by: Marc | May 20, 2008 at 10:15 PM
I have no problem with an African-American as president.
I have lots of problem with Barack Obama though.
Posted by: | May 20, 2008 at 10:16 PM
Obama supporters, don't blame race as the reason we do not like your candidate. Blame his elitism & his attitude toward us the middle class workers.
I will vote for either Clinton or McCain. Obama is not an option and I don't care if he has a (D) next o his name. Trust me, I know a lot of democrats with the same feelings here in Florida.
Posted by: | May 20, 2008 at 10:21 PM
I hope he comes back to Florida again some time at night (many who would want to go have to work). I am an independent who is energized by Obama. He will make a great President. I wish all of the obnoxious Hillary Clinton supporters would stop fear peddling. She is really looking like a sore loser (and I used to love Bill). What a sad legacy for a name that had given us so much. The hate from her supporters are a huge turn off.
Posted by: | May 20, 2008 at 10:29 PM
At the end of the nomination process, more people would have voted for Hillary Clinton than Barack Obama.
If they "steal" the nomination from Hillary, we will be voting for John McCain. HILLARY CAN RERUN IN 2012.
Posted by: | May 20, 2008 at 10:39 PM
Agree with a comment above. Osama Obama can't compete without Hillary Clinton as his VP. That will get him closer to beating McCain, but it will still come down to more people disliking Osama and not voting for him than those who hate Clinton. Clinton will only ease the pain of defeat for Osama.
Posted by: | May 20, 2008 at 11:24 PM
NEWSFLASH!!!!!!
This just in: Barack Obama is a POLITICIAN!

I wish all of the obnoxious Obama supporters would stop race baiting. He is really looking like a sore loser (and I used to love Michelle). What a sad ending for a young black politician and his wife. The hate from Obama's supporters is a huge turn off.

How much will a Glass of Barack Obama Kool-Aid go for at the forum tomorrow? If Barack gets elected we can all quit our jobs and let our socialist government take care of all of our needs and wants. Correct????
Posted by: | May 21, 2008 at 04:16 AM
I can't wait to get in line for my benefits. I will "retire" and let Obama and the socialists take care of all my needs. Who needs mortagage insurance, health insurance, car insurance, long-term care coverage, etc.---Obama and the Dems will give it to us. What a great (third-world) country we can become! Let's go for it!!!

Posted by: | May 21, 2008 at 08:27 AM
Democrats, who profess that they will vote for McSame is Obama is the nominee, are not Democrats… they are racists. You can spin it and frame it to your hearts content, but there is simply no way of getting around it.
If you believe that McSame will be anything but a third-term McBush, and continue the path of destruction the current administration has put us on… then you are nothing shy of an Ill-informed Delusional Indignant Opposition Tool… otherwise known as, an IDIOT!

Our country really needs a change from the lies and swiftboating of the GOP. It should be obvious to all voters that Republicans have completely lost sight of what's good for our future when they pay people like 8:54 etc to spew outright lies in their "win at all cost" campaign.
Vote DEM and restore integrity to our political system, and we'll get decent leadership for a change, instead of the products of lies and spin.

oh isn't that just grand - 8:54, 8:36, and 8:23 are already showing the limits of the liberal brain - anyone who disagrees with them is labeled a RACIST AHHHHH!
Posted by: | May 21, 2008 at 10:49 AM
I'm going to vote for Obama. I don't see anything wrong with socialism or communism. I think all people who make over $100,000 a year should be paying at least 50% in income tax and anyone under $50,000 should be at 15%. Those between $50,000 and $100,000 at 25%. We have way too many rich people living better than they should compared to the lower income folks. I see nothing wrong with correcting this as other socialist and communist countries have done. Many of them are in just as good a shape as the U.S. If Obama wants to have policies that are more socialist, I see no problem for anyone other than the rich.
Posted by: | May 21, 2008 at 08:42 PM
Yes, anyone not voting for the black candidate is a racist.
lol, it couldn't be that Obama looks down on certain Americans and is an elitist. No it could be because he was in the pews of Rev Wright listening to his radical teaching for the last 20 years. No it couldn't be because Obama is unAmerican that thinks America has 57 states.
