Firefighters union to fight Amendment 2

The Florida Professional Firefighters will be campaigning to defeat Amendment 2, the Florida Marriage Protection Amendment, announced Florida Red and Blue on Thursday.

That union represents 22,500 firefighters and emergency medical services employees across the state. Amendment 2 is the one that would Florida from recognizing any kind of same-sex civil unions.

Why?

Wasnt this the theme of an Adam Sandler movie?

Firefighters oppose Amendment 2 because it will cost them - and any public employee - benefits like health care.

Those hosers!

Firefighters are lazy.

Now I suppose they'll be an shaking a boot in my face at stoplights, asking for donations.

ok 11:41 - i'll bite - by what thread of logic does passage of amendment 2 (and i am against it's passage BTW) threaten public employees and their benefits?

MAYBE IT DOESNT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH MONEY...

maybe firefighters are simply interested in JUSTICE FOR ALL (that phrase sound familiar?) and are not impressed by the same bigoted, half-witted folks aggitating against ammendment 2 who were aggitating against mixed-race marriages and before that aggitating against equal rights for all races, and before that, aggitating for anythng else that diminished the rights, freedoms and liberties of ANY CITIZEN, wrapping all their aggitation up in a bag and calling it "religion" instead of having the courage to say, "WE HATE ANYTHING AND ANYONE WHO IS DIFFERENT!!"

a bunch of faux-religions frauds and closeted losers are supporting ammendment 2!!

COUNT ON IT!!!!

ever thak of that?

68%

According to SayNo2.com:

Kentucky's marriage protection amendment is the focus of a battle brought by its supporters to take away benefits from public employees at the University of Kentucky and the University of Frankfort.

In Michigan, that state's amendment has already dissolved domestic partnership registries used to provide health care benefits and pensions to public employees.

In Florida, Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade Counties and the cities of Gainesville, Tampa and Miami Beach, among others, offer Domestic Partnership Registries. Many Florida universities and more than half of the Fortune 500 companies offer Domestic Partnership benefits. These benefits would be placed at risk, if not outright abolished, if this amendment passes.

Every unmarried Floridian will be impacted by this amendment - especially divorced or widowed seniors and public employees who, under existing programs, can share some benefits such as hospital visitation privileges and health care coverage without being married.

Yes, something like 68% of Florida will oppose Amendment 2.

didja ever notice the same folks who support #2 are the same folks who seem to find support for just about everything they hate in "their bible"?

neegras?....they can find it!
wimmens?....they can find it!
je-ews?.....they can find it!
kathliks?...they can find it?

you name it, they can find it!!

what if the next "thing" they decide to hate is YOU??

just how "different" from them are you??

BE CAREFUL!!!!

Another Obama racist!!!

The reason the "FIREFIGHTERS UNION" is opposing Amendment 2 is because the "FIREFIGHTERS UNION" is joined at the hip with all the other "UNIONS" who are joined at the hip with the "SOCIALIST PARTY" who is joined up the _ _ _ with the homosexual lobby.

So, when they want raises etc. they need that "UNION AND PARTY MUSCLE" yea, that is it. Nothing means more to them than getting raises and benefit increases, not that they don't often deserve them but is it worth selling your soul over and encouraging others to begin painting you in the same light as many now paint public school teachers and their "UNION"?

Evidently the rank and file firefighters have slipped a rung down the ladder lately. Sad.

2.14:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

absolutely pathetic!

2:14, it’ll mean a lot to you and your spoon boy when a firefighter breaks down your bedroom door and pulls you and your tub-plug from your burning home, thereby saving your militant and miserable lives, so that you can carry on your futile cause.

So if me (male state employee) and my girlfriend want to share health insurance I can if we register?!? Since when? I want in!

68%

Sounds like 3:20 found a shoe or two that fit:)

68%

2:14 sounds like your typical gay basher: a repressed homosexual.

There is no way Amendment 2 gets 68% but it will pass with something more like 62% or 63%.

ALWAYS VOTE THE OPPOSITE OF UNIONS!!

Yes on 5!

Let's defeat hate by defeating this amendment proposal.
