Florida Democrats for McCain? Not publicly!
UPDATE: McCain campaign points out they also have signed up former Tampa Mayor Dick Greco as another prominent Dem McCain supporter.
Over the weekend, Sen. John McCain's presidential campaign released a list of "prominent Democrats and Independents" supporting McCain.
The two from Florida include: Blogger on HillaryClinton.com Renee Slater and Former Sheriff of Highlands County Howard Godwin (Florida).
Buzz has spent the better half of two days trying to figure out who Blogger Renee Slater is, we'll keep you updated if we hear from her. But Buzz contacted Howard Godwin who was none-to-pleased to find out his name had been splattered all over the Internet, thanks to a McCain press release.
"Who I vote for is no one's business, it's a personal decision. I'm not in public office anymore," said Godwin, who reluctantly agreed to confirm he is a Democrat and is supporting McCain.

Blogger Renee Slater = professional blog sniper hired to spread the mud against the opponent. Her best for Hillary: Obama is a Muslim.
Howard Godwin = good ol’ boy, who wouldn’t vote for one of them neegrass nohow! I can see why he likes McCain; they have a lot in common… like, “GET OFF MY DAMN LAWN… and SRING ‘EM UP BOYS!”

Prominent? What a joke. I didn't recognize even one of the "prominent" people on the list. Hell, I'm a blogger. Can I get put on the list like "Renee Slater."

Someone who's unemployed and and a student (Renee Slater) gets listed as a nationally prominent Democrat for McCain. Uh, that's a little bit of a stretch isn't it?

Got you fellow Dems worried? You better, cause we are converting to McCain in larger numbers than imagined. Before you know it, we'll have your kids dying in Iraq for corporate profit and daddy's revenge too... That'll show 'em!

I say, good riddance... but hey, if it works, make sure you snap some new pticture of your kids or grandkids!

Today, at the home of Presumptive Republican Presidential Nominee, Senator McCain agreed to expand on his recent strategy to place distance between he and President Bush, and address Global Warming…
When this reporter asked the Candidate how he planned to separate himself from the current administration, the Republican nominee replied, “Bush!… never heard of him. Oh, you mean those funny looking green things out in my yard?… I’m having them pulled tomorrow because they keep sticking their tongue out at me.”
I asked the Candidate how his Foreign Policy differed from George Bush’s?, “That’s easy; watch!”… said McCain excitedly, and at that, the Senator began to light firecrackers and throw them at a board game of Risk he had set up in his den yelling, “Die you little bastards; die! That’ll teach you to mess with Lil’ Johnny!”
I also asked the Candidate his plans to address the growing problem of Global Warming. The Senator replied, “Easy! just install more ceiling fans and get some more ice cream… ooops, I p’d myself again.”
Our interview was suddenly interrupted when the Candidate abruptly ran to his widow, accused his garden hose of stealing his rubber duck, and threatened to fire his mailbox for flipping him the finger. The Senator then turned to our crew and yelled, “You cut in line and I’m telling the teacher!”
Confused, I turned to the Senators wife with a puzzled look. She graciously thanked us for coming a suggested we leave quickly. Of course we complied, and as we closed the door behind us, we hard the Candidate yell, “Mommy; bring me my damn pudding and some more firecrackers… here puppy… here puppypuppypuppy… who stole my toaster!”
This reporter was very concerned… film at eleven!

The McCain camp will continue to drive a wedge between democrats especially the Clintonites and the Obamaics because it is a smart ploy, and it may be working.
If McCain succeeds in dividing and conquering the democrats then he will deserve to be president. It is up to democrats to “smell a rat”, come to their senses and make a sound judgment on what they really want.
The republicans are already using their tried and trusted strategy of “fear and smear”, and probably have confidence it will work again this year.
Democrats should already have a strategy to deal with this, if not then between “divide and conquer” and “fear and smear” the republicans will be well on their way to holding onto power.

Is that Blogger Renee Slater Bayliss?

The crossover votes will be numerous for McCain but virtually zero Democrats will admit voting for a Republican and against an African-American Democrat.

Correct. This is why the polls are worthless in measuring this race. I know many people who will not reveal their real voting decision. Overwhelming overestimate of Obama's strength in the polling. Gonna be some embarrassed pollsters come November!!
