Obama out to snuff his own delegates?
If you're one of 67 delegates and alternate delegates for Barack Obama in Florida, beware. You may have a target on your back, as the Obama campaign is looking to strip you of your delegate status and replace you with someone of their choosing. We've alerted Buzz readers of this potential mini controversy before, but Jon Ausman raises it again in a mass-email:
"Allan Katz, the representative for the Barack Obama campaign, has said the Obama campaign will be removing delegates and alternates so they can be replaced by others the campaign prefers....I have strongly urged Commissioner Katz NOT to remove any delegates or alternates because I believe the news stories in the hometown papers of those removed would be detrimental to the unifying and healing process our Party needs as we make plans to promote Senator Obama’s campaign.
"I have also stated that since Senator Obama will control the floor passes and credentials of the Convention. Thus it would easy for the campaign to get those it feels need to be taken care of onto the floor of the Convention. ...
"...These words have fallen on deaf ears. Whatever the reason, Commissioner Katz is going to use the power granted by the DNC RBC to remove persons already elected as delegates. All Obama delegates and alternates should contact the Obama campaign representatives and ask to be spared the pending purge.
"There are ways around this problem but I suspect this purge is personal rather than political. I have asked the DNC Delegate Staff Director, Phil McNamara, for directions on whether the delegation is replacing purged delegates (which means the full delegation votes on the replacement) or whether we are re-selecting delegates (which means the FDP SEC would select – with at least three candidates per position – replacements for the at-large and PLEO delegates while new Congressional District caucuses would need to be held for those selected at that level.
"The likelihood of Credentials Challenges being filed before the Credentials Committee of the Convention is sky high once the purge is announced."

Typical Ausman:
Don't do it because the press would be bad. Pay no attention to the me while I tell the press all about it.

WHAT!… another hit piece on Obama by Adam (Hillary) Smith?
Why, I never heard of such a thing.

Don't ever forget that Alan Katz is first and foremost a lobbyist. Has been and always will be. He and his associate, Bill Rubin were named Sleeze and Slime the the Tallahassee insiders. Katz will dole out favors based upon who will feed his lobbying activities.

Isn't this move by the Dems akin to "You're either with us or against us"?

Ausman is the only guy in florida who gets away with being for us and against us at the same time.
Posted by: | June 06, 2008 at 09:59 AM
Donny, now we've tried and tried to let you express yourself in hopes that some semblance of intelligence would soon appear...and that just hasn’t happen. Now, I warned you about doing that to yourself… remember, I told you that you’d go blind and stupid.
Now, take your coke bottle glasses off and get back in the basement.

How does Jon Ausman get away with holding press conferences and conducting political activities at his state office? He's been running campaigns from his office at the Department of Transportation for years. The Republicans have never had the cajones to put a stop to it, maybe the Democrats will. All it would take is a few public records requests.

Now that the Obama people have screwed Hillary out of the normination, they now begin the process of screwing each other.
Posted by: | June 06, 2008 at 10:21 AM
10:21 Because of namby pamby Guv is the people's (read Democrat) Governor. Charlie loves to suck up to Democrats and poke Republicans in the eye.

Oh well, Bush and McCain began screwing each other in 2000. Footage coming soon. Tap Dance to follow.
Posted by: | June 06, 2008 at 10:26 AM
Oh well, Bush and McSame began screwing all Americans a long time ago. Many needless deaths have occured under these two nutjobs... and corporations have made billion because of it.
Posted by: | June 06, 2008 at 10:36 AM
How do idiots like 10:36 get off with the childish name calling (McSame) and the overt agism, when at the same time they call you a bigot for referring to Obama's color or even uttering his Muslim middle name Hussein?
Posted by: | June 06, 2008 at 10:49 AM
Agism. A new entry in the 2008 political lexicon!
Glad to see GOP HQ's mail server still working, to crank out the talking points, and their newfound concern about inflammatory rhetoric.
Tell you what, let's make a deal: Dems will avoid agism, and GOPers will avoid other "isms" -- racism, nativism, sexism, anti-Semitism, etc.
Deal anyone?

10:26. How true, "footage coming soon", but it will be more of Barry's slash and burn politics - not Bush/McCain porn!
Posted by: Donald Lance | June 06, 2008 at 11:04 AM
11:01 - well first the democraps must purge their own party of racism (those who voted for hillary) and sexism (those who voted for obama)
one thing is for sure, when a woman or monority is a successful republican it's because they worked for it - not like the democraps who prop up one person over another to fill arbitrary quotas - that is true racism/sexism

11:06... UMMMM... IDIOT?
Posted by: | June 06, 2008 at 11:55 AM
"Bush/McCain porn!"
I told you guys that Donny was a freaking sick pup. Dude is all about teens and boy-on-boy freak shows.
Posted by: | June 06, 2008 at 11:56 AM
The "Sleaze and Slime" rap was laid on by jealous Wannabes who didn't like the fact that the guys were hot at that time. Both Katz and Rubin can be jerks at times but those of us who've been around for a while respected them then and now as straight shooters.
This is the same thing that happens to whoever's hot in a given biennium-- Haben, Culpepper, Dunbar and French were the "House of Ego" (probably true...). Ballard catches it now as do a couple of others. Book and Spearman always caught it. However, most of us know these folks as formidable competitors who tell the truth and stay inside the white lines.
Welcome to Tallahassee-- you know you're on top when folks are tearing you down! Not for kids, old folks, or the weak of heart....

"snuff"
Interesting choice of words, Adam... did Hillary advise you on that? What's next, a 1968 reference?
Posted by: | June 06, 2008 at 02:10 PM
They all deserve to be left home after they supported a man who wanted to disenfranchise the neighbors of the would-be delegates.
If they care about self-promotion more than they care about having their votes count, then they should watch the convention from home on their TVs. If they, like us, bother.

Katz, Obama's Florida's guy is a lobbyist. Was Obama lying again when he said that he wouldn't have lobbyists in his campaign? He sure was.
Posted by: | June 06, 2008 at 06:17 PM
This is another reason Barack Obama will lose big in Florida & Michigan.
Posted by: | June 06, 2008 at 08:12 PM
The Obama campaign will have a much better chance of winning Florida if they distance themselves from lobbyist and political opportunist/operative Allan Katz. Katz will not pass muster if any due diligence is done on him. This delegate switch trial balloon looks like another stupid Katz idea and should be summarily rejected.
Posted by: | June 06, 2008 at 10:21 PM
Now he is trying to game the convention. I thought he is the annointed one. Obama lies all the time. Remember Obama stood on the National stage and said the Democratic Party is now mine.
It was never about the people.....or America it was about the arrogant liar!
By the way I did support Hillary never the DNC or Democratic Party. But I know Obama doesn't like veterans so I am throwing my support to John McCain. As of today I am a member of his Veterans Coalition. I have agreed to speak with the media in KS if I am needed. Good thing I have friends in the media!
I have also agreed

Actually Hillary worked for it. She had many Republican farmers traveling to other staes in support of her. She really is quite amenable and has worked with Senator Sam Brownback (KS-R). He is one of the most conservative senators in Congress.
Obama has never even done any heavy lifting. He didn't even vote on the 2007 Vets Benefits Bill...then he throws the flag pin on again I am not buying it he is unpatriotic and unAmerican. (As a constitutional law lecturer he should have known that outting your hand over your heart is a permanent law.
He is a fraud!

Obama is nothing more than a creation of the media that has no substance or experience.
Hillary I could vote for, Obama I cannot. Country before party.
I'm supporting John McCain if Hillary does not get nomination.
Posted by: | June 07, 2008 at 10:29 PM
First, I cannot believe that approx. one half of American voters would vote for a candidate with 0 executive or managerial experience to be the president of the largest business enterprise in the world.
Also, while I was in US Navy at the pentagon in Navy Intelligence I was thoroughly investigated by the FBI to get top secret clearance. Wonder where FBI stands on background check on Obama. His
best friends and cohorts surely bear some investigations.

McCain has been dirty all his life. He writes about it and chuckles about it. McCain always votes against troops and vets.
Ask the MIA families how he sunk them in Congress.
Go back and make Cindy show those papers of her and daddy dealing with Keating -- instead of using prenup to cover up for John.
Telco lobbyist pay him --- he's fine with trying to keep their crimes secret with amnesty for their spying for Bushco BEFORE 9/11.
Why is McCain still refusing to release the bulk of Abramoff documents. Whose dirty secrets is he still hiding?
Check out McCain connections to rep. Renzi indicted crimes. Selling off OUR lands for HIS profit.
