Rep. Kriseman loses home in fire

Fire480_3 A fire early this morning destroyed the St. Petersburg home of Democratic state Rep. Rick Kriseman.

Neighbors say the Krisemans weren't home at the time of the fire, but firefighters had to treat the two family Labradors for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but it engulfed the 3,567-square-foot home that Kriseman and his wife bought in 1994. Story here.

I'm glad no one was hurt.

7:22....

(With tongue firmly planted in cheek..)
Why would we expect the media to know such things?

After all it isn't like they actually pay attention to anything people tell them. God forbid the facts should get in the way of telling a good story or missing a deadline...

For you who read the paper and take it as gospel, think about this the next time you read anything in print (or on air)...

If the reporter regularly spends time at the Capitol and doesn't know the name of one of their home town legislators, what makes you think any of the other facts they're "reporting" are accurate.

Very, very little real reporting goes on here in Tallahassee. It's far more a "follow the pack" mentality. And, it's amazing how easily they're thrown off the scent.

They chase each other around and interview people they know/like or "have a relationship" with, or someone their peers told them is "a good quote."

They all want to be the next Woodward & Bernstein when in reality they're more like Mutt & Jeff at a "Chinese Fire Drill."

We're all thinking about you and your family, Representative Kriseman.

Ditto, 8:03... and I’m guessing the Kriseman’s dog-sitter smokes.

so much for being a common man. A 3,500 square foot home, thats what people where I live would call a mansion.

Still i feel bad for him. Glad he and his family were out of the house at the time and that the dogs are fine.

I think the original photo was better… talk about a Stonewall fantasy! Whoooooo, that was hot.

5,000 square foot homes are mansion now. I believe the average square foot homes being built in the last few years is around 2,500 square foot

so... it's two-times better than average?

i know some of you bloggers can't help but be cruel and inhuman. i just hope that you never have to experience such a loss as this. or if you do, i hope people are much kinder to you during your sad time. my heart goes out to the krisemans. they are a solid family, and i know that they will quicly start to put the pieces of their life back together. the community is behind you! god bless.

The avg. square footage in st. pete is around 1800...and what new homes have been going up in St. Pete the past few years? There is no space left to build? Wake up 12:43.

Regardless I pray that they are able to put this tragedy behind them.

He shouldn't have let Kevin do the wiring.

... that's funny, 3:49... I'm sad for Rick and his family... but that's funny right there, I don't care who you are.
