Rep. Richardson finalist for parole commission
Term-limited state Rep. Curtis Richardson of Tallahassee is one of three finalists for an opening on the Florida Parole Commission. The Democratic lawmaker must await a decision by Gov. Charlie Crist and the Cabinet, perhaps later this month. The others in the running for the $92,500-a-year post are Fred Dunphy, who's currently a parole commissioner, and Tina Hayes, an administrator in the state Department of Corrections.

Well he has everything going for him.
He is (a) black and (b) a Democrat. Our RINO pandering Governor is weak in the knees with love and "respect" so he is a shoo-in for the job.

well said disgusted Repub- I wasn't going to add his race in the mix but definitely his party affiliation will push him over the edge

Race = pandering.

Good for Charlie. I'm beginning to wonder if pissing off the wingnuts is his strategy. Isolate them into their own party and carry the GOP forward without the hate and irresponsibility. Hmmm....could work.

3:32 - ah yes, what can we call a new party that never puts forth a position on an issue, only makes up their mind after polling shows what the people want (but not necessarily need), one where middle of the road is the best position because defending a position is too hard to actually do...
Any ideas out there?

Hopefully he will be a better parole commisioner than he is a shortstop.

Are there no African American Republicans who will take these state jobs?

Charlie never passed the opportunity to act like a Democrat.

At least HE has the academic credentials UNLIKE Crist's other appointees!!!!
Florida State University, B.S., Psychology, 1978; University of West Florida, M.A., Counseling, Psychology, 1979; Florida State University, M.S., Psychology, 1983

He was caught counseling a prostitute in his office one time.

I would choose “Tina Hayes, an administrator in the state Department of Corrections.” At least she has real world experience. I have found over the 30 plus years that I have been working that people in the field over time that have worked their way up the system generally have common sense. Something that I see that tends be lacking in a lot of college graduates.

Big mistake to put anyone on the parole commission who woudl actually thing of granting parole to any of the thugs left on parole. There is a reason they have been denied all these years and those reasons won't change. Richardson will be itching to cut more than one of these murderous thugs loose on the public to show his "compassion".

Earth to Crist ... appointing someone to the parole commission who will release a murderer on parole is not very "ANTI- MURDER."

Won't it be grand if he gets the appointment, and Nina gets elected county judge?
