Vasilinda plays hardball

From the Democrat: "A candidate for the Florida House filed suit today to knock her opponent out of the Aug. 26 Democratic primary, saying his retroactive resignation from the Leon County School Board doesn't comply with the "resign to run" law.

"School Board member Fred Varn said he will contest the legal action taken by fellow Democrat Michelle Rehwinkel Vasilinda. Varn said he announced his candidacy for the Leon-Jefferson County House seat in September and filed signatures to qualify for the ballot on June 3 -- so his failure to formally resign was a harmless technical oversight."

Wasn't Amendment One "a harmless technical oversight."

hmmmmm... YEP, he's a politician!

I guess he didnt follow the law but doesn't want to be held accountable. What a moron!!!

The fact of the matter is that he never "qualified" as a matter of law in that he failed to meet a mandatory prerequisite of the statute. He should know better from prior experience, not to mention a memo sent to all candidates by the Division of Elections that spelled out what was needed to qualify. No hard ball here-- simply enforcing a law that Fred was too stupid to follow. He loses hands-down.

You can tell that Vasilinda's husband had his staff stay late to post on the blogs. Three posts in 25 minutes and then none for hours?

There is a reason that the Democratic establishment refused to back her, she has even worse ethics than her husband.

Anyone remember: http://blogs.tampabay.com/buzz/2007/05/mike_vasilinda_.html

The Vasilindas are all like that.

So Michelle's first official act of the campaign is to file a "Restraining Order" against a fellow Democrat trying to keep him off the ballot. If she wins like this she just lost one vote for sure in November...mine.

Good thing Michelle uses both her first and second husband's names, otherwise I'd never know who she is!

isn't scott maddox varn's campaign manager. you would think a person who ran for attorney general(and was democratic party chair) would know the election laws.

Michelle knows how to pick them--first, a telecom lobbyist husband and now a media hack. She's a decent enough person but one has to question her taste in husbands.

Who cares what her husbands do for a living? She's going to get beat anyway.

She is so transparently phony. Look at the stunt she pulled in today's democrat. http://www.tallahassee.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2008806250370

Does she thing she is running for student council?

And the results of this are Leon County will elect a backbencher with no talent or pull and then moan about how state employees are treated. She will add to a long list of ineffective representation. When wil this district ever elect someone who can be on the A-Team?

Sorry, if you can't follow the law, how are you expected to implement the law in the Legislature?

This is one of those "weed out the retard" moments.

Buh bye Fred.

Go Leopards! The lady took her gloves off first Fred, now you can maul her.

michelle musta read obama's playbook - this is the same play he ran his first campaign for state senator
