Another state lawmaker supports drilling
Sen. Jim King, R-Jacksonville, told the Buzz that he has become a more strident supporter of offshore drilling, done safely of course, given the price of gas and the tanking economy.
The St. Petersburg Times reported earlier this week that state Republican leadership is deeply divided over the subject.
King says his response to those who say drilling won't help gas prices anytime soon is: "If we had done what I'm suggesting 15 years ago, we wouldn't be where we are now. We need a starting point somewhere."

He needs some more gas to haul around that there huge pair of...

Joining the crowd is easier than pushing for affordable solar housing, and doesn't take near as much effort.

HEY!!
didja happen to see and/or hear THE DRUNK the other day when he was asked about drilling?
he said that even tho it would take about SEVEN years to get any results, it was stil a viable opton!!
PLEASE REALIZE THE DUMMDRUNK WAS PRESIDENT SEVEN YEARS AGO!!
why didnt the inarticulate anus DO SOMETING then, instead of spending all his time ignoring warnings about al quida and plotting a way to unsuccessfully invade vietraq?
THAT'S WHAT REAL LEADERS DO...ANTICIPATE PROBLEMS AND BEGIN WORKING TO SOLVE THEM BEFORE THEY ARE PROBLEMS!!
ARE YOU R'S STUPID IDIOTS, OR WHAT???!!??

Depending on if King's truck nut.z are made of plastic, then they require petroleum to be made... no wonder he supports drilling - save the truck nut.z!

Can any of the environmental masterminds on here tell me:
When the last major Oil Spill effected the continental United States?
When was a major spill the result of a drilling rig or platform?
How many platforms are currently in the Gulf of Mexico?
How far out to sea would a platform have to be so it could not be seen by someone on the beach?

4:21 Answers:
1. Texas City
2. Baytown
3. Santa Barbara
4. Prince William Sound
(I think you've got the wrong questions.)

I guess you cannot read. I asked: "WHEN"
I know Santa Barbara was in 1969.
How about the others?
Were they caused by rigs (drilling platforms) or by tankers or pipelines?
Should we ban Oil Tankers?
Posted by: moderate | July 18, 2008 at 04:49 PM
Baytown was a refinery spill on land and into a river.
Prince William sound is not the continental United Staes and it was caused by a tanker, not a drilling platform.
You're not a mastermind.

Who cares what this insignificant legislator thinks? He has no standing anymore. He no longer controls anything. He let morons take over the Senate. His thoughts mean nothing. He should get out already. He won't fight to keep the Senate from the hands of right wing losers like Haridopolis and Fasano.Soon he will be taking orders from these absloute morons. How can he even think that his comments mean anything anymore?

If King would have eaten half as much as he did 15 years ago he would not need as big an suv to get around.

They drill near New Orleans. They have refineries near New Orleans. Is there a bigger tourist destination?

Can any of the environmental masterminds on here tell me:
1.)Why do Bush and his lemmings want to drill so damn bad when it would have no effect on oil prices for years and years?
2.)Why do Bush and his lemmings want to drill so bad when the miniscule amount of oil in the US would hardly lower oil prices anyways?
3.)Why do Bush and his lemmings keep blathering about the safety of oil platforms whe we have a greater need for new refineries?
4.)Why do Bush and his lemmings keep blathering about oil drilling when we're in a recession caused by bad lending practices and an absurd foreign war?
Posted by: moderate radical | July 18, 2008 at 10:51 PM
10:51 Oh, oh, please, pick me pick me! You're right, I'm not really an environmental mastermind, but you don't have to be to answer those easy questions:
1.) One last payoff to Big Oil before he's out on his butt in November.
2.)Exploiting the oil crisis to make one last attempt to destroy ANWAR. (How dare anyone stand in his way!)
3.)Refineries are obvious sources of pollution and new wells bring new refineries, but let's not mention that in our sales pitch.
4.)If enough people drink the Kool-Aid, we might be able to convince them that the recession is due to anti-drilling Democrats in Congress, and not on the multitude of stupid decisions made by their own Adminstration, which are the real cause.

The Democrats have planned this oil shortage for years. It is the only way they might have a chance at getting back the White House. Now the dumb a.... are blowing the opportunity. No one ever said a Democrat had brains!!!
