Crist now mum on VP process

If the John McCain campaign is vetting Gov. Charlie Crist as a possible running mate, Crist isn't talking. The governor was uncharacteristically mum on the subject Tuesday, sounding like he may have received some instructions from McCain's people.

"I can't comment on that process," Crist said. Asked if the McCain people have asked for public records, he repeated: "I cannot comment on that process."

THIS JUST IN:

alaska's long-time u.s. senator, ted stevens, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on multiple counts of doing what comes naturally to repiglicans....LYING!!

he will have to vacate his ranking seat in his senate committees and prepare for a long time in FEDERAL ORANGE, sharing a cell with mark foley, karli rove, larry craig and whatever other loathsome faux-men are destined to follow him into enforced, but nonetheless ENJOYED, homersexuality, of the federal prision-type!!

god bless 'merikuh!!!!

what a tw@t

Great, he's marrying a millionaire, travels the world, never misses a ballgame or photo opp and now he'll be VP. Way to take care of the people of Florida who voted you in to office!! What a fruit loop/tool! Oh yea, and he's never paid property taxes, homeowner's insurance and has mostly worked for the govrnmnt. He's in touch with us?? Get lost Chuckles - we'll be better without you.

the goppers couldnt sink so low as to nominated CC, could they?

hasnt the DRUNK been the the ABSOLUTE LOW WATER MARK????

if ANYONE deserves to live out the rest of his years in jail

its TED STEVENS

what a dick!!!!!!

2:05 You mean Ted Kennedy?

Crist has done a crummy job with Florida, so far. We sure DON'T want or need him in Washington! If you think of it; Dick Cheney VP, a possible Charlie Crist for VP...a world of difference. lol

Lets put two and two together. Charlie is actually not on the short list but in order to keep his name in the papers, he says he can't comment. It's classic Charlie.

2:11 is right on target.

Republican Sen. Ted Stevens of Alaska was indicted Tuesday on charges he lied about receiving gifts worth more than $250,000 from an Alaska-based energy company on whose behalf he intervened in Washington.

Republicans motto: Lie, Cheat and Steal.

Good riddance!

Asked if he understands about that whole birds and bees / man & woman process, he repeated: "I cannot comment on that process."

If he doesn't comment on the VP stakes, is there anything left for him to actually talk about?

John McCain is already an old man. He doesn\'t need any Dan Quale problems during this campaign.

As a Republican, I am truly trying to find a reason to vote for McCain this year.

If he brings on Crist he will not only lose my vote, he'll most certainly lose the election.

Then again maybe they're already conceding that Obama can't be beaten and don't want to hurt the career of a viable Republican with a future in the party.

Someone PLEASE find us a Governor!

Get the republicians out of office! It'a obvious they know how to put a country in finicial ruin.

What a joke Crist as VP that alone should make a person vote for Obama. RUN!

If so, I will not vote for McBush! Especially knowing how ineffectual Crist is, when the 150 year old McBush dies in office that's what will be leading our country....No Thanks!

McCain wanting to continue in the Bush tradition on Iraq, the economy, health care and gas prices is enough to make people vote for Obama.

Time to take a chance on a change! I know alot of people I spoke to were not sure about Obama... afraid of the unknown I guess you could say. But seriously look at our options. Do we really want 4 more yrs of the same ol' crap? This country is in a recession that will only get worse if a Republician gets into office. I think I'll take my chances and vote Obama in..

Obama is not for me. Maybe in a few years but he is a kid wet behind the ears. Sorry, but this is American not a boy scout troop! We need someone with experience.

Vote for us instead. It has to be better than a McCain/Crist ticket

Does that mean his engagement is over?

Let's see. Obama'a wife had NEVER been proud of her country until people started supporting her husband's presidential campaign.

Obama's pastor of 20-something years, and close friend hates America. He actually said in a sermon that instead of singing "God Bless America", we should be singing God D@mn America!

And what does Obama say himself? Nothing but generalizations about change. He's promising the stars and the American people are falling for it.

2:11 is the only post on here that is relevant. Crist - the so-called governor of Florida - cannot comment on the process because they finally told him to shut the f@*% up about it. He ISN'T on any short list except for the SPT and a few of these idiots in Florida who think the sun rises and sets on his bogus tan and shock white hair.

did empty chair Chuck actually work today?
that was his first work day in what (three weeks).
I can't wait till Chuck doesn't get the VP nod. Poor twit, he doesn't have a clue what to do as Governor and the economy just keeps getting worse!
He's dropping in the polls (down to 50% from a high in the upper 70's at one time).
Poor empty headed Chuck Crist!

Jim Greer is a piece of garbage. Some day his actions will shame him... maybe

McSame is not for me. Maybe in a few years, if he can still remember how to flip flop, but as a neo-con, he is a kid wet behind the ears. Sorry, but this is America, a country in need of change, not a country club for the rich! We need someone with experience in helping others, rather than helping themselves. You can't teach an old dog like John McCain new tricks.

As of today I plan to vote for Senator McCain who is the most experienced. The only thing that would change my mind is if he picks Crist for his VP. I am sorry I voted for Crist for Governor who has done nothing for the State of Florida.

Let's assume McCain picks Charlie as his running mate.

Fast forward to the VP Debate on October 2.

Remember how surprisingly poorly Charlie did in the two Debates against Jim Davis?

Imagine how Charlie will do against Obama's running mate.

McCain needs to ask Hillary Clinton to be his VP and then we would surely win the election here in Florida. Crist would not make a good President, he cannot even take care of Florida.
