Mike Hansen headed to top of House staff?
The Buzz is Mike Hansen will become chief of staff to incoming Speaker Ray Sansom.
Hansen was formerly budget director for Gov. Jeb Bush and was brought into the House by Marco Rubio in 2006 along with a slew of other Bush loyalists. Before that, Hansen was staff director for the House Appropriations Committee.
Sansom, R-Destin, has kept a low profile so far and made few staffing decisions. It's unclear what current COS Bob Ward will do. Sansom is in Europe with Gov. Charlie Crist (see photo, courtesy Crist's office) and could not be reached.

No longevity in the Parliamentarian's office. Make Ward the Clerk!

Bahl runs the Whip's office

Termie - it won't be Zapata. But you're getting close.
They need to get rid of the Parlimentarian position and roll it back into the Clerk position - Bob Ward would be great at it.
The parlimentarian position is just another example of Rubio padding the salaries of his buddies. Rubio had to actually take away senior management benefits from long-time employees because he was up against the stautory cap. He wanted them for all the new high paid positions he created around him for his friends and Jeb's friends. So much for fiscal conservative.

Will we ever be able to un-Jeb the House?

Bob, you are something else.

10:54 lets give a non partisan non-political extremely technical position to a long time Republican hack who just received his college degree. I think Ray is smarter than that.

Bahl thinks he is a member. He worked for Traviesa's campaign and then used that to get a job in the house. The guy is arrogant. He doesn't get that he is a staffer he tries to get in the way of what happens. Please someone ship him back to Tampa.

Those of us who work in the House can't say "AMEN" loud enough in response to this post.

Bob will be the parliamentarian? I hope not. He's a glorified secretary that will get turned around faster than Charlie at a gay bar when the action on the floor gets going.

Ward will be the Clerk. Sansom is breaking up the job back to its original form. Leary why don't you ask Hansen.

6:06 - or perhpas I know BOTH of them and my opinion is realistic!

Bob Ward= Professional, level headed, do the right thing rolled up into one neat package. If he is gone the House will be loosing one very level headed individual. Bob kept alot from imploding this year that many never even know about.
I would be proud to work with Bob Ward!

Bob may be professional and level headed, but if they are consolidating those positions it needs to be with somebody who is sharp and can think on their feet (like Phelps) and Bob doesn't fit that bill.

Bob cut a deal long ago with the incoming administration. Bob's only loyalty is to himself.

Bob is not smart enough to be clerk. That position is way out of his league.

Matt bahl is a leftover student government infant. i knew him at FSU and it sounds like not much has changed. he was an absolute clown then and still is. Nothing like a little state politics to give someone a bloated sense of self importance. get some perspective matt, there's a bigger world out there than the FL legislature. what a douche.

the funny part is that bahl thinks he's a player. people laugh at him constantly and is the butt of many a joke. someone needs to tell "emperor bahl" he has no clothes.

using the words "bahl" and "no clothes" in the same sentence is a disguting thought
