Vets hit street for McCain
The McCain campaign is organizing a series of "Veterans for McCain" rallies across Florida tomorrow. Events are scheduled for Jacksonville, Tampa and Pensacola. The Tampa event begins at 11:45 a.m. at the Republican "Victory Office," 142 West Platt St.

I'm a vet. I'm leaning toward Obama.

I hope all you Obama supporters are as happy as the people of Denmark, because your taxes are going to go up to Danish levels when Obambi is president. Damned fools!

What'd Denmark ever do to you 2:45? Did you choke on a lego when you were a kid?
I love Denmark. No drinking age, free education, sexy lose women, free health care, minimum wage is above $18 bucks an hour, 2 years maternity (and paternity) leave, Some of the worlds finest beer: Carlsberg and Tuborg.

With a personal history like his, I am shocked by Sen. John McCain’s continued neglect of our returning veterans. While campaigning, he avoided voting on the vital G.I. Bill, which was part of the Senate’s supplemental spending bill.
This bipartisan legislation provides educational benefits for veterans to meet the growing costs of higher education, and, of particular importance in Iowa, includes activated National Guard and reservists. Like President Bush, McCain has criticized the bill.
In this time of economic crisis, veterans need this 21st Century G.I. Bill to modernize outdated benefits. It is a cost of war that has proven high returns; for every dollar invested on the original G.I. Bill, higher educated and more productive veterans pumped $7 back into the economy.
While McCain cites fiscal concerns, he repeatedly authorizes funding for the Iraq war. One week of war funding would pay for a whole year of this program. Iowa voters expected leadership from Senator McCain on this issue. Thankfully, other senators found time in their schedule to support veterans.

Surfdog just described the teachings of the unreverend Jeremiah Wright. Seems like Obama and his supporters are looking in the mirror, hating what they see and trying to reflect these ridiculous self loathing attributes onto Senator McCain.
We’re sorry you have kissed the ring of Jeremian and the likes of Farakan. Repent now and you can still be saved.
I'm a vet and I'm voting for the more positive candidate-John McCain.

I will be a vet in one month!
I will then be campaigning full time (for free) until November letting everyone know we need John McCain as our president! We do not need a racist, hater of the U.S., a liar and opportunist who also hates the military.

I guess that big group of volunteers that Obama shipped into Florida was given their first marching orders....BLOG, BLOG, BLOG. If McCain is so bad as som of the comments try to claim above, why is McCain winning Florida against the Messiah? Things that make you go hmmm. I mean really, McCain is running a horrible campaign and Obama is still losing Florida.
I say good job to the Obama supporters on here today, he is getting his money out of you. Noting like hired hands but what do you expect from someone from Chicago politics.

Dave, et al:
While I'm leaning toward Obama, I do think McCain is an honorable fellow and would also make a good president. I suggest you build on that and not resort to negative campaigning. Makes you all look foolish.
Iraq and Afghanistan are just like Vietnam. Rich man's war, poor man's fight.

Dear Obama supporters:
Keep trying. Keep spending your time and money in Florida. In the end, there are simply too many patriotic veterans, too many people guided by faith and family, and too many people who believe deeply in all that is good with this country to ever vote for Obama. There are also a large number of common sense voters that understand the danger of placing the security of our nation in the hands of such a novice, especially when that novice has demonstrated a general disgust for the America so many of us love.

That editorial from McCain that the NYTimes refused to publish is getting better circulation and discussion now than it would have in the NYT. Liberals are soo....dumb! Rejecting his article is working for McCain and now against the NYT and its candidate Obama. Ain't life great!!!

Hill would've gotten crushed worse...her likability is less than 50%...at least there are millions of average voters who will vote for Obama because he looks pretty

Where are my GI benefits, Senator John McCain? While you are living secure on your wife's income, my family and I need some help. I'd like to go back to school and get a decent job, not work in a Wal-Mart. Barack Obama supports me, why don't you, Senator McCain?

10:10-
Why do you need Barack Obama to get you a job?
Didn't you acquire any marketable skills while you were in the military?
Isn't it time you stopped asking the government to do everything for you?
Posted by: | July 22, 2008 at 10:16 AM
Amen, 10:10.
GI's put up with years of crap while parasites on the outside get a free ride.

It must be remembered that McCain is of the upper class, both civilian and military. Unable to make Admiral, he was passed over and sent into retirement like many of his supporters you will see wearing American Legion caps. Were you to ask them, you would find out that they are old retired officers who can't get out of their pasts.
McCain is of the Eisenhower school of ex-military officer politicians whose support for the military is tepid at best.
I go back a long way with the military.
Senior noncom retired 1979 who remembers that under the Eisenhower administration we received not one pay increase. It is not surprising that McCain's new organization of swift boaters will rant and rave about veterans who demand what was promised to them, and which may have been the incentive for them to remain through thick and thin for twenty or more years.
Some of you clowns should stop drinking that budweiser cool ade.

Oh, and by the way, McCain was not the only unfortunate to do time in the Hanoi Hilton and other great North Vietnamese resorts.
Only difference is that many of these ex prisoners suffer their experiences in silence, and homelessness, and not fronting it as some sort of qualifying criterion for running for president.
"I can win wars" now there is something to look forward to. Of course the old reprobates in support of a McCain presidency will not have to go.
Great stuff, and a reason I do not attend Legion meetings. Yuk
