McCain to return donations from Fla bundler

From AP: John McCain's campaign said Thursday it is returning $50,000 in contributions solicited by a foreign citizen. The move follows the disclosure that the money was being raised by a Jordanian man who is a business partner of prominent Florida Republican Harry Sargeant III, who has collected hundreds of thousands of dollars for McCain.

The New York Times reported Thursday that Sargeant allowed a longtime business partner, Mustafa Abu Naba'a, to bring in some $50,000 in donations in March from members of a single extended family in California, the Abdullahs, along with several of their friends.

The Abdullahs and other Arab-Americans in California also contributed tens of thousands of dollars to Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton and Republicans Rudolph Giuliani and Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, a longtime friend of Sargeant.

According to the Times, Abu Naba'a is a dual citizen of Jordan and the Dominican Republic.

It is illegal for foreigners to contribute their own money to U.S. political campaigns, and McCain's campaign said Abu Naba'a did not do so.

But McCain spokesman Brian Rogers said some of the people solicited by Abu Naba'a had no intention of supporting McCain for president.

Rogers said "that just didn't sound right to us" so the money is being returned. He estimated the total at less than $50,000, saying "we think we have a pretty good estimate of how much Abu Naba'a solicited."

Too bad Bush never returned all those perfectly legal donations from the Saudi Royal family. Does it count as a campaign contribution if Bush asks the Saudis to lower oil prices just long enough to help get McSame elected?

Didn't this guy Sergeant give a lot of money to the Diaz-Balart brothers down in South Florida? If so, I hope someone is investigating those donations also.

Give it up Repubs ...

…even your National Republican Women's Network thinks of Obama as one of "our candidates". See their offshoot website:

Edwards for Obama's VP!

Why would Obama put a known adulterer on the bottom of the ticket when the GOP has a known adulterer on the top of the ticket?

Use your head "I did not..."

John McCain did the right thing. Although there is no proof of wrongdoings, the look of impropriety make giving the money back better.

bravo john mccain!

John McCain III took money from another elitist with a III on his name? I'm shocked I say.

The privileged do tend to stick with the other elitist pigs. SOMEONE needs to payoff for those military ripoff contracts that Crash McCain will generate by making more needless, stupid wars.

John McCain did the same old thing. Only when confronted by undeniable wrongdoing, did he give the money back to his terrorist supporters to maintain the look of propriety.

MCCAIN NEGATIVE AD AIRS DURING OLYMPIC PARADE OF NATIONS.

THE AMERICAN TEAM IS SET TO WALK OUT ANY MINUTE AND MCCAIN POLLUTES OUR AIRWAVES WITH THIS SH!T...

McCain is an Absolute disgrace. All Veterans should be ashamed of this toad.

Like Hillary Said "John McCain Brings a Life Time Of Experience, Senator Obama Brings A Speech"

Barack Obama is a dirty racist. He doesn't even need ads for people in America to see right through him.
