Obama wants to revamp primary system
You know that little controversy that erupted over Florida's Jan. 29 Democratic presidential primary? Looks like national Democrats and the Barack Obama campaign are as determined as ever to discourage early primaries, and they're looking at regaining control of the primary calendar, reducing the importance of super delegates and tinkering with the caucus process. Story here.
"The goal of the commission will be to ensure that no primary or caucus is held prior to the first Tuesday in March of 2012, with the exception of the approved pre-window states, whose contests would be held during February 2012," Obama's campaign and the DNC said in a joint statement.

President Obama is going to do many and great things for America.
It is, however, going to take some time to undo the last 8 years where the Republicans have broken everything....including the economy.

Too little to late Obama!
You wanted to disenfranchise Michigan & Florida voters. Now you come crawling back asking for our votes.
Payback is coming in November!!
You reap what you sow.

Barack Obama is the biggest joke candidate I have ever seen.
He constantly flip-flops all over the place just to pander for votes.
I am totally disgusted that he is going to be the Democratic nomimee.

GET RID OF SUPER-DELEGATES & CAUCUSES!!
LET THE VOTERS DECIDE.
Posted by: | August 20, 2008 at 08:42 PM
I want to revamp the primary system also. They should all be held nationwide on the same day. That way all the states would be treated equally and early states wouldn't get to affect the final outcome. If all the primaries had been held on the same day this time we would without a doubt have better candidates than the two we got stuck with. The Dem's aren't happy and neither are the Rep's. And the real loser's in this screwed up primary system are the American public.
Posted by: | August 20, 2008 at 08:57 PM
I am in charge of the revamp. Whatever I say goes. Obama reports to ME. You will respect my authority!

Hillary is the legitimate candidate.
Obama is creation of the media that won't stand a chance in Nov.
Super Delegates can still put a "winner" on the ballot in Denver.

Wrong! Obama actually belongs to Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. He will do whatever they say and will just be the pretty, black face at photo ops and give nice speechs. Kind of a Jimmy Carter Ah Shucks arrangement. God help America!!!

Obama is not bipartisan at all
Posted by: | August 20, 2008 at 10:12 PM
Obama is a theif. Period. He stole 2 million votes. Why does he take votes from Michigan if they jumped the schedule, and HE took his name off?
I saw the video of the theft of a caucus. Obama was put up by our fascist media, so we would lose.
And the kiddies think they had something to do with it.
Posted by: | August 20, 2008 at 10:18 PM
Saturday Night Live's script played it best ....
sitting around, decide not to campaign, one throws their name in the bowl when no one is looking, and then draws it out.... I win!
It was funny then and 10:18 ... thank you for reminding me of the show. thanks for the guffaw.

MSNBC, CNN, NBC, NY TIMES, TIMES MAGAZ.

John McCain was at a townhall today, and a questioner said:
"If we don’t reenact the draft, I don’t think we’ll have anyone to chase Bin Laden to the gates of hell."
To which McCain responded:
"Ma’am, let me say that I don’t disagree with anything you said."

The funny thing is that Americans know these media organizations are in the tank for Obama. People don't care what they see or read from them any more. They have become a joke like Obama.

Yep, revamp it like the 2008 dem primary. You know the one that Hillary would've won.

A Blind Draft is the only equitable method. I'm certainly not proposing the type of draft we had back in the 60's. But we should include drafting older folks for positions that don't necessarily require physical skills of the young.
Posted by: Blind Draft needed and wider age spectrum | August 20, 2008 at 10:50 PM
I would expect attempts to get non-combat positions for all sorts of connected folks, but with some serious oversight (that we never had in the unpopular 'wars'), these could be minimized.
Imagine a cadre of "internal affairs" types investigating the past and present capabilities of combat deferrals. Investigators explicitly staffed for the mission of verifying the validity of deferrals related to the top 1% of wage earners and politicians. Citizen oversight of the investigators.
Difficult, but hardly impossible and certainly light-years better than what we're doing today or have done in the past.

News Alert: Big news
Barack Obama either lied to America about his blocking the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, the bill, would have protected babies who survive an abortion or he is incompetant.
Even democrats like Hillary & Pelosi supported the federal version of this bill.
YOU COULD SAY OBAMA WANTED TO ALLOW BABY KILLING.

I'm curious. If The Buzz is read by opinion-makers around the state, what is it they read? The "blurb" from the hard copy edition, or the comments? Neither seems especially enlightening to me.

i think its time we got rid of states too. just 5 or 6 big regions....fewer state governments...

BREAKING NEWS!!!
Hillary names Obama as VP. In a stunning turn of events, Obama's broken campaign has conceded the nomination to Hillary Clinton. In a forgiving move, she has reached out to Obama and asked him to be her running mate.
In related events, Howard Dean was seen running through the streets of Denver wearing nothing but high heels screaming gibberish at the top of his lungs. Bystanders indicated that they would not have noticed anything out of the ordinary except for his selection in footwear.
Biden, Bayh and Caine were all unavailable for comment having locked themselves into their rooms.
Stay tuned as more news unfolds from the mile-high city as the DNC draws nearer.

I swear I really believe that John McCain is brain damaged. How the heck does this guy make it home by himself at night, much less feed and bathe himself?
Does he just wonder up and down the halls at night unshaven, in a hospital robe, with his Johnson hanging out babbling incoherent thoughts until it"s time to drug him, dress him up, put him in front of a camera and spoon feed him the dribble that passes for Policy?
Seriously, he needs to be on a poster for some charity catering to the mentally vacant.

State legislatures are the only institutions with any legal power to set primary dates--as well it should be since they cost millions, involve thousands of paid volunteers and are run under extensive laws.
This cycle the parties decided they HAD to be in control and started disenfranchising voters by the million. In the process the Democrats lost my lifelong (until now) vote.
These arrogant party hack fools should just back out of the whole matter. It is isn't up to them to decide that Iowa and New Hampshire will matter more than Florida.
Our legislature struck a blow at their arrogance by setting the primary date when WE wanted it not when THEY--the party hacks demanded it be. The legislature should immediately set the next presidential primary date to be the week before Iowa or New Hampshire whichever is first in 2012.
We as Americans should reject the arrogance of party hacks telling us when to vote and enforcing their preference by disenfranchising by the million.
All primary votes should be counted on a one-person one-vote basis and not just because FDR's dumba$$ grandson grants leave they they be so counted, but because THE LAW HAS TAKEN AHOLD OF THIS PROBLEM AND FIXED IT SO THAT VOTES ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE PRIMARY PROCESS.

Obama is not qualified to change the way the Dog Catcher is elected let alone how the primaries are run.
Why does he let his family live on $1 per month while he is buried in cash? This is the guy who wants to "help the middle class....blah, blah, blah..." while his own brother is eating dirt to survive.
Posted by: Dave | August 21, 2008 at 08:30 AM
It is well documented that Obama has lied about every aspect of his life. The main stream media judges people by what they say they stand for, rather than what they are and what they have done. It is only a matter of time before the voters catch on to this fabricated con artist.

OBAMA ANTHEM LYRICS
All hail the messiah
Obama, Obama
The path to the new socialist motherland
Our savior, our savior
Obama, Obama
The leader more famous than Lindsay Lohan
Bow down and praise the one
Give him your money and your guns
Give us a country
That makes your wife proud
Lord Barry heal the bitter ones
White and Clinging to faith and to guns
Hope for the change of the hope of the change!

republicans and democrats are exactly the same -- they are all suckers.
its amazing that when we finally have a guy who is not beholden to corporate interests, is lightyears ahead of any politician we've had in my lifetime in terms of cognitive ability, and was opposed to a war I knew was utterly stupid.....and despite all of this...we still have retards on this blog saying they will vote for McCain.
Don't believe the polls -- this will be a landslide victory for Obama and it has nothing to do with Dem Vs Rep and everything to do with Smart Vs Retarded.

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said in an interview Wednesday that he was uncertain how many houses he and his wife, Cindy, own.
"I think - I'll have my staff get to you," McCain told us in Las Cruces, N.M. "It's condominiums where - I'll have them get to you."
According to his staff, the correct answer is "at least four, located in Arizona, California and Virginia."
However, Newsweek estimated just this summer that the McCains owns at least SEVEN properties.
Really now....how many people do you know offhand that are unaware of how many homes they own?!?!

hey 9:03, I know you are very intelligent and all (you seem to think so anyway); please explain to all us retards how voting for those that would enact more leftist, socialist and communist government policies is the SMART decision. I didn't learn that at the school of hard knocks.
Posted by: Dave | August 21, 2008 at 09:15 AM
i taught at the school of hard knocks and the reason you didn't learn anything was because you were either getting beat up by the girls in the class or didn't show up at all.
you are a retard for several reasons.
your reference to Obama's policies as being 'communist' is a great place to start.
please look up the word 'communism' and 'socialism' and understand that they are very different. you will also quickly realize that although we aren't called a 'socialist' state we have many socialist programs already in place. Bush expanded many of them through his 'faith based' program.

9:29 your ignorance is obvious. Your savior proposes nationalized healthcare. How do you classify a government takeover of 7% of our GDP which is currently run by private business?
How do you classify the government confiscating more and more money from productive and profitable businesses and individuals and then spraying it around to "the less fortunate?"
As usual, you avoid answering the question asked, personally attack the questioner and then swerve into the DNC talking points.
A person afflicted with retardation is innocent and not accountable for their actions or words. What is your excuse?

Barak Obama was out jogging one morning along the parkway when he tripped, fell over the bridge railing and landed in the creek below. Before the Secret Service guys could get to him, 3 kids who were fishing pulled him out of the water. He was so grateful he offered the kids whatever they wanted.
The first kid said, 'I want to go to Disneyland '
Barak said, 'No problem, I'll take you there on my special Senator's airplane.'
The second kid said, 'I want a new pair of Nike Air Jordan's shoes.'
Barak said, 'I'll get them for you and even have Michael Jordan sign them!'
The third kid said, ' I want a motorized wheelchair with a built in TV and stereo headset!'
Barak was a little perplexed by this and said, 'But you don't look like you're disabled.
The kid said, 'I will be after my dad finds out I saved your a.. from drowning!'
