Obama wins Duval?

Not a chance that a Muslim like Barry Hussein wins in Jacksonville.
Posted by: | August 07, 2008 at 08:00 PM
Obama will not only win Duval but he going to win the entire state of Florida.
Count on it!
By the way, as it gets closer to November the Republican brand will be cemented in mud.

What are you going to post next, Mr. Smith?
How about first graders in the Poconos to see how Florida may vote?
McCain's won every AOL straw poll at roughly 60/40 in EVERY state. But, that's not newsworthy is it, Mr. Smith?

This is a huge deal -- Obama winning a Chamber of Commerce vote in a county where Republicans have won the last two presidential elections by double digits.

Is 48% of the nation tiring of Obama, double digits?
Yeah, it looks like it.
48% of Americans are tiring of Obama and it's not even September yet.

UNF poll: McCain, Obama tied in Duval CountyJacksonville Business Journal
Duval County residents are evenly divided in their support for presidential candidates John McCain and Barack Obama, according to a poll conducted by the University of North Florida.
The survey of 510 Duval County adults also found that the dominant campaign issue for local residents is the economy, which was cited as the main issue nearly twice as often as the No. 2 issue, the war in Iraq. Health care, which was cited by 6 percent of respondents, was the only other issue to get as much as 5 percent.
The polling concerning the presidential race could hardly have been closer -- Obama was the choice of 210 of those surveyed, while it was McCain for 209. Six percent of respondents chose "Neither" and 10 percent were unsure.
The preferences broke down along predictable lines. Obama holds a 52 percent to 34 percent edge among voters age 18 to 44. Among voters 45 and older, McCain holds a 51 percent to 32 percent edge.
McCain gets 60 percent of the white vote in the poll, while Obama gets 90 percent of the black vote.
In other questions, more than 30 percent of respondents expect gas to cost more than $5 a gallon by Election Day, and more than 60 percent say rising food prices are a problem.

To the first poster, I like the Muslim attack. That way, non-bigots and people who think are compelled to say, "Whoever this jerk is, all I know is that I have to be against him/her" Please keep it up. Obama can certainly win Duval and Florida. McCain's so afraid that he has signed on with Rove's people, the same who tried to destroy him in S.C. by alleging he had black babies. In one sense, McCain has lost all sense of decency. In another, he recognizes that this lack of decency is his best chance at becoming president, an din the words of Paris Hilton, that's hot.

Siplin's Democratic challenger did vote for Republicans!
Contrary to his earlier comments, voting records in both Lake and Orange counties show Democratic state Senate candidate Maurice "Doc" Woodard did in fact vote in the Republican primaries in the last three election cycles.
When asked about the fact that he was a registered Republican until last year, Woodard initially told the Sentinel Thursday that he had made a mistake when he registered, and had never actually voted for a Republican.
"I've been a Democrat all my life," he said.
But Lake County election records show he voted in Republican primaries there in 2002 and 2004. He registered to vote as a Republican in Orange County on March 8, 2006 and cast a ballot in the Sept. 5 GOP primary that year, too.
Asked to reconcile his story with the voting record, Woodard suggested Thursday afternoon that he did in fact vote for Republican candidates in those primaries.
But he said he did it to "counter influence" elections by casting his ballot for Republicans he thought would be weaker in the general election.
"Really, I was voting Democratic in that sense," he said. "Do I deny the voting record? No."
He went on to say: "All of this is my doing, and I understand that. It is what it is. I have to face reality, and that's life."
The issue was sparked by mailers and TV commercials paid for by Florida trial lawyers that call Woodard a "lifelong Democrat."

There has always been a large African American population is Jax.Their votes have been consistantly surpressed by the GOP and local pols.In 2000 thousands were prohibited from voting with the convicted felon scam and the long line scam.Jacksonville is the most segregated city in Florida(some would argue its really Ga)The real problem is that the minority community is energized and could at least attempt to vote..if the old boys letem

Unless we want a third Bush term, Obama is our only choice. We need to change course. I don't know if our country can take another 4 years of more war, no healthcare, $4-5 gas, our jobs shipping overseas and record breaking foreclosures. How can Florida continue to elect the same crowd and expect a different result. A vote for Mcsame is insane.
Posted by: george | August 07, 2008 at 10:32 PM
Amen George..This next year in Florida with the upcoming and ongoing financial collapse helped in part by the legislature ,state and local greed is the beginning of the end for right wing rule in Florida..Kids better learnto brown bag it the the govs Paris trips have to end..Wewill be closing courthouses 2 days a week next year let them crimials lose..Get used to it.Theyare accountable for their action.

Get new talking points, George and Jason,
If Paris Hilton can come up with a better energy plan that Obama (and she did), the American People know to vote for McCain.
Posted by: | August 07, 2008 at 10:44 PM
My Kindergarten class had a straw poll too, lol.
what a joke article
Posted by: | August 07, 2008 at 11:00 PM
What exactly is the Mcsame energy plan? It kind of sounds like the McCheney plan we are already doing so well under. I think he threw in a windmill or something. Big Oil didnt give Mcsame $2 million (that we know about) for nothing. Oh and who said Paris had a better plan? It's coming to me. I almost remember....Oh yeah the Mcsame campaign. I think you can come up with your own talking point if you want to defend your candidate rather than that sorry stuff.

Posted by: and let's not forget it! | August 08, 2008 at 12:17 AM
George,
Your posts are a fraud just like Obama!
Obama voted for the "Cheney" energy plan in 2005. McCain voted against it.
Obama's energy plan is a tire gauge and a tune up now. Where'd he get that? Out of a candy box?
Obama will take the country back to failed Carter policies if he's elected.
McCain will lead us out of this mess just like he did with the surge.
Is Obama for or against the surge today?

Now y'all know why Republicans "caged" voters in Jacksonville in past elections.
They send letters out to voters late. Anyone who moved doesn't get the letter and is "purged" and prevented from voting. It hurts poor folks who move more often, and OUR TROOPS who are often stationed abroad and don't get that letter because they can't be forwarded.
It stinks. Fairminded Americans must help folks check to make sure they are STILL registered -- or voters will be disenfranchised AGAIN.
Why don't Republicans trust American citizens? Darned elitist of them. Shame on robbing our troops while using them to steal oil and "contractor" riches from the rest of us.
Posted by: | August 08, 2008 at 07:56 AM
Let's see, first the Obama campaign claims they will win Sarasota County, then stack a Duval straw poll, but they can't break 50 percent in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.
They either live in La La Land or he is the messiah!
Posted by: | August 08, 2008 at 08:14 AM
I live in Jacksonville. I laughed. Now on to reality again.
Posted by: Client 9 | August 08, 2008 at 08:31 AM
7:56 and don't believe they won't try it again. They're desperate. With the monumental Bush failure, you'd think they'd just admit that neo-con policy doesn't work, and allow the Dems to attempt to fix things. However, they've opted to keep to the McSame course in a state of total denial. Their only hope is to win by spin, lies, and trickery.

The energy policy act of 2005 was a massive piece of legislation which had a lot of good things in it like support for alternative energy and some not so great things like tax breaks for the energy industry. Obama voted to strip out the tax breaks for big oil, and Mccain voted against that. Its not about what happened in 2005, both candidates have changed positions as they should when reality and real problems demand it. Its about change and the only way to get a change is to actually vote for a different philosophy that might lift us out of the downhill spiral we are in. The Republicans have run this country into the ground over the past 8 years, and while I preferred Clinton, I'll take Obama anyday over more of the same McCain.

I TRIED TO GET RID OF THE EPA!! WHO NEEDS THEM????
Lets let the corporations police themeselves so we can be more like Z China
As it gears up to host the 2008 Olympic Games Beijing has been awarded an unwelcome new accolade: the air pollution capital of the world.
Satellite data has revealed that the city is one of the worst environmental victims of China's spectacular economic growth, which has brought with it air pollution levels that are blamed for more than 400,000 premature deaths a year.
According to the European Space Agency, Beijing and its neighbouring north-east Chinese provinces have the planet's worst levels of nitrogen dioxide, which can cause fatal damage

It is interesting to note that unlike in previous years - none of the Republican campaign mailings feature any mention of the Republican brand. Just got a piece from Gus and nowhere is the term Republican to be found. These guys are running as fast as they can from their own brand.
Maybe they are afraid they will be banned from airport bathrooms.

Obama is pure shuck and jive, a term historically used to describe how blacks deceived whites. The meaning has now evolved to talk nonsense. Can you think of a better term to describe the Obama's and their white guilt supporters?
