Sobel: "It's typical Broward"

This one's so priceless, we can't resist cross-linking to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel political blog. As events unfold in Broward, some previously uncounted votes are being discovered, which could change things in a couple of very close races. Exhibit A is a three-way state Senate race among Democrats Eleanor Sobel, Ken Gottlieb and Tim Ryan for the seat held by the term-limited Steve Geller. And Sobel -- the front-runner, thanks in part to a big lift from the medical community -- is blasting the decision by the local canvassing board to reportedly disband before all the votes were counted.

Comments

Why is Sobel complaining? She won by a close margin as best I can tell. Right?

No this is typical Broward:

From the Miami Herald:

Wait, why don't I see Obama on the ballot?
Dhanji...Israel...Lemack...Thompson...Udolf...but wait, where's Obama?

A handful of Broward voters apparently can't wait until November. At least one voter came to the polls Tuesday, not realizing that Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama isn't on the ballot until Nov. 4.

The woman -- who was too embarrassed to give her name -- walked out of the Miramar Civic Center in a huff because she thought today was the day to vote for president and brought her two children to the polls to watch her vote for Obama.

"I don't really follow politics," she explained on her way out.

I echo all the comments made about the voting process in Fl for the last 8 years! I can't wait until November and neither can the lawyers!

Sobel's as sleazy as they come.
I can't believe these schmuks in Broward are dumb enough to send this old Jewish gasbag back up to Tallahassee.
Sobel is part of the crew that has given us skyrocketing property taxes, skyrocketing property insurance, collapse of the real estate market, destruction of our economy and lousy unaccountable schools.
She's a career politician who hasn't accomplished much of anything and will do little in Tallahassee as a state senator.
Gottlieb is just as bad.
They should have gone with Ryan who's head and shoulders above the "amen" group.

Dear terminator,

Please remember that it was your best buddy Marco that ran the House for the last two years while we got skyrocketing property insurance, a destroyed economy, and crashed real estate market. Also note that you have worked in public education for decades to make sure that bad teachers are able to hold on to jobs (please, talk about accountability). So, chuck, I would have taken any one of these three over Marco or you any day of the week.

Trying one last time...it is an election system largely run by the D's that has been the problem all these years. Even Sobel says to expect this in Broward. How can all these Supervisors of Elections who are Democrats get away with blaming R's for theri own incompetences.
