Shortcake for good luck, Sen. Obama

Barack Obama just left the Parkesdale Farm market in Plant City, where owner Jim Meeks told him former President Bush, President George W. Bush, former Gov. Jeb Bush, and former Rep. Mike Bilirakis had all visited and sampled the strawberry shortcake.

"And guess what? They all won their elections," Meeks said.

"I should get some shortcake too," the candidate said. Unfortunately for Obama, strawberries are out of season so he had to settle for a strawberry milkshake, which Meeks assured him would be good luck as well.

Obama dropped $124.37 for a bag of oranges, a crate of peaches and 50 milkshakes for the press corps and campaign staff.

My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard...

McCain won't ever go to Plant City.

So what else does Obama treat the press to? No wonder they love him so, he has learned the "the secret" - if you feed them, they will cummmm!

Yep, they are positively ogasmic over him!!!

What, he didn't buy arugula at the farmer's market? Was it out of season as well?

man -- that arugula joke is so0000 funny! no way is it cliche -- it's totally original. I think Toady McToad should get a big sticker!

3:50: You're cliche. Everything you say comes straight out of the moveon and dailykos playbook. Get a f-ing life.

3:52 -- what an amazing comeback..that was equally impressive as the phenominally hillarious arugula joke!

Another sticker for the man who uses two handicap parking spaces!

3:56 Please...McToady parks his nose between Karl Rove's butt cheeks.

What?

No f$cking shortcake?

Did you reimburse Sen. Obama for your milkshake?

milkshakes for everone,a chick, and pot for all

Adam got a milkshake, Adam got a milkshake...

Hey, that $124.37 that Obama dropped at the Parkesdale Farm market was probably a pretty big sale for them. It was a mini stimulus package for Florida. We need more of it. Now I wonder if he'll stop at a tomato stand next and buy a case of those.

Don't most media have a rule against taking "gifts" from the subject of the news repor?

If not, they should.

Just think what the taxes on that stuff would have been if that guy with the big ears, funny sounding-name, and that guy who doesn't look like those other Presidents on the bills (see! I'm not being a racist) gets his way. Just move the decimal point to the right one digit and that would have been his final bill.

Yes, Parksdale knows that Barry will make sure all the illegals can get drivers licenses so they can come work pickin berries real cheap. Great job you traitors. Hope the help will buy your stuff from now on because I won't and I am going to let everyone I can know where you come down the line on illegals and Obama. After years of trading with your family I am ticked.

I was at Parkesdale on Friday and met Senator Obama. It seemed to me that he was very well received by everyone. He was very down-to-earth and very kind. I will make a point to shop even more than I already do at Parkesdale and will encourage everyone I know to do the same. I wouldn't lose much sleep over losing the business of the misguided former customer (who posted at 11:51am). It's too bad he/she thinks that people who don't agree with him/her should not be permitted to buy delicious strawberry shortcakes.
