Dem poll: Buchanan 44, Jennings 40
A 9/22-23 Feldman Group poll for Christine Jennings in CD 13 has incumbent Vern Buchanan, R-Sarasota with 44% support and Democrat Jennings with 40%. "The current economic environment likely adds to voters concerns about allegations of Buchanan’s questionable business record. The more voters learn about his past, the less they support his congressional candidacy. This contest has become too close to call with atmospherics that favor Jennings,'' the Democratic pollster said in memo. The poll did not include NPA candidate Jan Schneider as far as we can tell.

Buchanan is the definition of a douchebag.

Give me a break. Jan Schneider is going to take at least 5 % of the Democrat vote and likely close to 10%. This is the FOURTH time Jan Schneider has run as a Democrat (listed as no party) and she was the Democrat candidate in 2002 and 2004. So with TWO repeat TWO Democrats running against Vern Buchanan, they both are going to lose.

HAHAHA....
What a load of crap, for one the two independent candidates are not even mentioned. This poll is not valid based on that fact alone. I have read about three other polls that have Buchanan up by almost 20. This race is not even close.

SCHNEIDER IS GOING TO WIN THIS ONE.......

Buchanan is running so many ads I am about to jump off the skyway bridge. There is no way that guy is going down. I do not even know who is running against him.

Christine Jennings has no money and she has no chance in this race. This is a bogus poll drummed up by her campaign in an attempt to pick up some outside help. Too bad the decision was made a long time ago that this race is not competitive. I would be interested to see a poll with all four candidates in it.

Jennings needs a new polling firm if she wants some data her campaign can actually work with. Why liberal NPA Jan Schneider isn't listed here, I have absolutely no idea. Say what you want about Vern, but at least he bothers to hire pollsters who include everyone running so the whole picture is seen both by his staff and by voters.

Christine Jennings serving up another load of BS? I never would have guessed after all those lawsuits! This poll is junk and further proof of desperation by her campaign.

McCain = McSame = McBush
"Senator McCain is right" because both he and Bush have been forced to adopt Obama's position on many issues.
Posted by: | September 26, 2008 at 11:10 PM
I hope this is a fair election and if Jennings does not win, I hope she will go away, preferably quietly.
Posted by: | September 26, 2008 at 11:32 PM
McCain is a jerk. As a republican, I will never vote for him because he's so mean and annoying! JERK! No wonder Bush despised him. I do too.

JENNINGS WAS A SORE LOSER AFTER 2006.
GAME OVER FOR HER.

McCain has clearly been helpful in keeping the Dodd Dem Paulson plan from passing. The REAL quote of GOP #2, Congressman Blunt:
REP. ROY BLUNT: I do think that John McCain was very helpful in what he did. I saw him this morning, we’ve been talking with his staff. Clearly, yesterday, his position on that discussion yesterday was one that stopped a deal from finalizing that no House Republican in my view would have been for, which means it wouldn’t have probably passed the House. Now, Democrats are in the majority. They can pass anything they want to without a singe Republican vote, but they don’t seem to be willing to do that. I’m please we can have negotiations now that get us back towards things that we think can protect the taxpayers better, create more options, and frankly be better understood in the country than the plan—the path we were on a couple of days ago.

ThE debate tonight clearly shows that McCain is ready to lead. I am not sure Obama should even be a U.S. Senator after babbling through the debate.
Obama kept stutterring while McCain pounded him like a ragged doll on foreign policy.
I actually felt bad for Obama at one point.

Obama got slammed tonight. It was not even close.
1-0 McCain
Posted by: | September 27, 2008 at 12:12 AM
One thing McCain proved tonight - he's Bush III, right down to the smirk.
What's with you Republicans? You're evolving backwards. Bunch of angry uncivilized chimps.

Already 3 facts that show Obama was misconstruing some things tonight:
I Fact Check: Obama Misleads on $250,000 Tax Claim
II "Admiral Mullen suggests that Senator Obama's plan is dangerous," said Sen. John McCain.
"That's not the case," Obama interjected.
In fact, 'Fox News Sunday' host Chris Wallace asked Mullen to put Obama's plan aside and speak to the general consequences of removing all combat troops from Iraq within the next two years.
Mullen responded, ""I think the consequences could be very dangerous in that regard. I'm convinced at this point in time that…making reductions based on conditions on the ground are very important."

"Senator McCain is right. I would not recommend the next President of the United States engage in talks with Iran at the Presidential level. My views on this issue are entirely compatible with the views of my friend Senator John McCain. We do not agree on everything, but we do agree that any negotiations with Iran must be geared to reality,".

Obama was cordial and diplomatic, he made McCain look childish, impatient, and antsy. Next debate watch Obama, imagine him meeting and discussing issues with our allies or confronting our enemies. He has what it takes to restore dignity to the Presidency, and our nation.
Next, imagine McCain. Smirking and rolling his eyes, the bulging jowls looking like they're full of marbles. A little Napoleon type, know-it-all. Foreigns leaders will cringe and think, Oh Christ, the idiot Americans have elected the wrong guy again. How on earth can we even sit down at the table with this joker.

"Senator McCain is right." At least where he and George Bush have been forced to agree with Obama. The rest of the time, McCain is just Bush III, maybe worse.

Roger Simon of politico agrees:
John McCain was very lucky that he decided to show up for the first presidential debate in Oxford, Miss., Friday night. Because he gave one of his strongest debate performances ever.
While Barack Obama repeatedly tried to link McCain to the very unpopular George W. Bush, Bush’s name will not be on the ballot in November and McCain’s will.
And McCain not only found a central theme but hit on it repeatedly. Obama is inexperienced, naive, and just doesn’t understand things, McCain said.
Sure, McCain is a pretty old guy for a presidential candidate, but he showed the old guy did not mind mixing it up. He stood behind a lectern for 90 minutes without a break — you try that when you are 72 — and he not only gave as good as he got, he seemed to relish it more.
At least twice after sharp attacks by McCain, Obama seemed to look to moderator Jim Lehrer for help, saying to Lehrer, “Let’s move on.”
“I don’t need any on-the-job training,” McCain said. “I am ready to go at it right now.”
He certainly seemed like it Friday night.

Jennings Poll: Buchanan Up +4...Lacks the Independents...
Buchanan Poll: Buchanan Up +17...Includes the Independents...
Let's remember that Jan Schneider has run both in 2006 and 2004...In 2004 she was the D Nomineee...And in 2006, she got something like 35-45 percent of the vote...
Jenning's poll is a joke and a last ditch effort to pull in 3rd party groups..Jennings here is a tad bit of info: The other groups know and are worried about the Schneider factor...Your poll is a joke.
Lets just pray that after 6 years of campaigning for a 2 year job Christine goes away..
Posted by: Bye Bye Jennings | September 27, 2008 at 03:27 PM
This race is not even competetive. Democrats have already allocated their outside support and Jennings was not part of that play. Enough said.

Time to run someone else besides loser Christine Jennings next time around....would like to see Keith Fitzgerald give it a shot.
Sadly neocon used car salesman Vern Buchanan will continue to do nothing for us in Congress besides be an embarrassment.
