'Go to hell, you filthy Yankees!'
John McCain is relying on a mad-as-hell Hugo Chavez to land the latest punch in an increasingly intense battle for the important Hispanic vote in Florida.
The ad, in Spanish, seizes on Barack Obama's stated pledge to meet with foreign leaders such as Chavez (seen in the ad trashing 'Yankees') who are hostile to the U.S.

English Script For "Obama-Chavez" (TV :60)
ANNCR: Did you see who Obama wants to talk with?
CHAVEZ: Go to h*ll, you filthy Yankees!
ANNCR: Barack Obama says that he would meet Chavez without conditions.
CHAVEZ: Filthy Yankees, go to h*ll hundred times!
ANNCR: He said he would meet in his first year in office.
CHAVEZ: The United States which is behind every conspiracy against our country.
ANNCR: He said it was a disgrace that we haven't spoken with them.
CHAVEZ: If any aggression were to come against Venezuela, then there will be no oil for people or the government of the Unites States!
ANNCR: Do you believe we should talk with Chavez?
CHAVEZ: We, you filthy Yankees, know that we are resolute to be free, no matter what happens, and at any cost!
ANNCR: In November, you decide.
JOHN MCCAIN: I'm John McCain and I approved this message.
ANNCR: Paid for by McCain-Palin 2008. Approved by John McCain.

Obama's response:
OBAMA HAS MADE CLEAR
THAT CHAVEZ IS A DEMAGOGUE WHO NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE

Well we Southerners have been telling Damn Yankees to go home for over one hundred years.

Why did McCain and his buddy Kerry cover up for Nixon/Kissinger's abandonment of POW/MIAs in Southeast Asia?
The Pulitzer Prize winning author of the Killing Fields wants to know.

Sarah Palin belonged to a radical group that called Alaskan statehood illegal and would have given Alaska back to the Russians. No wonder she bought a house so close the her true "homeland."

Maybe Chavez was mad because we supported a coup attempt against him.

Recently, all five former Secretary of States, Albright, Powell, Kissinger, etc. said that Obama was right in saying that we should have meetings with Iran and North Korea without any preconditions.
McCain has his head in the sand. Just like his predecessor, George W. Bush.

Trust me on this… it’s only the beginning of what the Repugnants are willing to do to keep a ½ black man from becoming POTUS. America is rich, old, white man territory, and thought of a ½ black man become POTUS is freaking them out beyond belief.
McCain/Palin “Honor Last”

McCain "Double Talk Express"
Just ask Karl Rove.
America can see through the lies, Senator.

Maybe after McCain trounces him in November, Obama can visit Hugo Chavez and blow some Columbian yellow. Obama won't need any lessons.

Maybe after McCain loses in November, he can dump is ex-mistress-turned-wife and get Palin to change his diapers at a nice little ALF in Naples!

It is no coincidence that Hugo Chavez' rhetoric is a mix between Barack Obama's and the Reverend Jeremiah Wright's.

Tom,
Albright and Powell? What good did they do when they were Secretaries of State, and why should anyone listen to them now?
Obama's foreign policy is hapless and naive, just like the lemmings who follow him.

1:55, did you really ask me that? About Colin Powell? The former Chairman Joint Chief of Staff? National Security Adviser? Former Army General? Former Secretary of State under George W. Bush?
Is that the guy whose credentials you are asking me about? You're out of your mind!!!!
I suppose we should listen to a hockey mom who lists Ireland as a place she's been to when it was actually a refueling stop. Or she has foreign policy experience because she can see it from Alaska!! Or that she just recently got her passport. My 10 year old has been to more places in the world than she has!!

Posted by: | September 19, 2008 at 03:07 PM
Tom,
It was a question. What good did Powell and Albright do while serving as Secretary of State?
Like a typical liberal your condescending response failed to answer the question.
I'll give you a challenge. Answer the question.
Posted by: | September 19, 2008 at 03:08 PM
Tom,
Despite your latest rant filled with personal attacks, you really didn't answer 1:55's question.
Besides, you are miscategorizing what Powell, Albright, and Kissinger said. According to CNN, they endorsed the idea of talking to Iran if it was done at the Secretary of State level and with conditions.
Naïve Senator Obama said he would personally meet, without precondition, with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the same guy who recently said "Israel will not survive in anyway" and "the Nazi holocaust was a lie."
No wonder Obama is losing ground among Florida Jewish voters.

he's not ya douchebag
obama is gaining.
Posted by: | September 19, 2008 at 03:12 PM
I think it would take me a long time to discuss Gen. Powell's achievements, including NSA under Reagan. You said he hasn't done anything, I say he knows a lot about foreign policy. We'll disagree on that one. Although, I think you're foolish for saying such a thing. But, that's my opinion.
Correction, those on the right blasted Obama for suggesting any kind of talk with Iran. He said that the notion of not talking to nations was some sort of punishment was ridiculous. He never said at the Executive level.

"he's not ya douchebag. Obama is gaining."
-------------
Ahhhh, the "politics of hope."
Tell us 3:12, in which measure is Obama "gaining" since the average of polls released this week still show Senator McCain with a 4 point advantage.
Posted by: | September 19, 2008 at 03:22 PM
3:22,I suppose you're looking at the Fox News polls. Because the Poll of all Polls has Obama leading and increasing.
Posted by: | September 19, 2008 at 03:26 PM
Obama knows better than to meet with Chavez. He is too bright to meet with someone who hates America (and specifically white people). Chavez has said on many occasions that he has no problems with black people and would do whatever he could to help poor blacks in America, but meeting with him would not be good for Obama if he wants the white vote and lets face it, he wants it more than a fat kid wants cake.
Posted by: | September 19, 2008 at 03:28 PM
Tom,
You are misinformed. Senator Obama in fact, unequivocally said he would meet face to face, in Washington or anywhere else, with the leaders of Syria, Iran, North Korea, Venezuela and Cuba. Senator Obama said this during one of the youtube debates. It is pretty clear the questioner meant meet with in person, and Obama answered "I would" without hesitation.
Even Hillary Clinton took Senator Obama to task for his foreign policy niavete, which forced Obama campaign manager David Axelrod to clean up Obama's mess the next day. Senator Biden attacked Obama as well.
Do your homework before you run your mouth Tom.
Posted by: | September 19, 2008 at 03:29 PM
3:26, please provide us with a link to your "poll of all polls" since Real Clear Politics "poll of all Florida polls" show Obama still trailing in Florida, not "leading and increasing."
Posted by: | September 19, 2008 at 03:30 PM
I saw that youtube debate. I didn't take it like that. You disagree, fine.
But the fact is that the GOP idea of ignoring these nations has not worked! It's this type of shoot first (Bomb,Bomb Bomb Iran), non diplomacy that McCain is going to use that will endanger our country and the world.
Obama's words:
"When you talk about Iran, for example, the Bush administration's position has been we won't have talks with Iran until they agree to everything we want to them to agree to. That's not diplomacy. That's asking them to do what they say and then acknowledge we are willing to meet with them. That's not how diplomacy works. That's not how Ronald Reagan operated with Gorbachev or Kennedy with Khruschev or Nixon with Mao.
There are a whole seris of steps that need to be taken before you have a presidential meeting but that doesn't mean you expect the other side to agree to every item on your list. That has been the attitude of the Bush administration and that will change when I'm President of the United States. What we are doing now hasn't worked."

Calling me a liberal is not an insult. I appreciate the compliment actually. Let's examine the defintion.
Liberal
1. favorable to progress or reform, as in political or religious affairs
2. favorable to or in accord with concepts of maximum individual freedom possible, esp. as guaranteed by law and secured by governmental protection of civil liberties
3. open-minded or tolerant, esp. free of or not bound by traditional or conventional ideas, values, etc
Conservative
1. to limit change
HMMMM.. one side open mindedness.
One side close mindedness.

#2 Poster.....I read the article in The Nation, and have read much about the subject.
You can see some of it on YouTube....McCain was full of contempt for the woman pressing for info. about her MIA brother. KERRY HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT, DUDE.
McCain is off his rocker and in his cocky bush-ravaged style, is itching to get into a war with the first taker.
If we've learned anything from the INVASION.......might be best to dialogue a bit first.
He does not care about the issues here, just wants to use it to help his limp campaign.....

CONSIDER THIS: Chavez and his country HAVE OIL......OIL, BLACK GOLD, BUSH'S BLOOD...
WAKE UP, AMERICA!!! That puppet in the white house has been harassing Chavez for quite a while now.
Just do some research. I'm not saying Chavez is Santa Claus, but you know, Bush has jeopardized our country for OIL..........AND WILL DO IT AGAIN IF HE'S ORDERED TO DO SO........BUSH AND DICK = screwed.

One last thing: Someone here used the word conservative to describe REPUBLICONS...........STOP.....the REPUBLICONS ARE A LOT OF THINGS, BUT CONSERVATIVE, THEY ARE NOT!!!!!
If you research the national debt and unemployment figurs for the past eight, yes eight presidents you find this:
The national debt and the unemployment rate were both lower every time there was a DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENT......I'm talking everytime, and most had to spend two years recovering the economy first, it the former pres. was a REPUBLICON.

On or about October 5th, Biden will excuse himself from the ticket, citing
health problems, and he will be replaced by Hillary. This is timed to occur
after the VP debate on 10/2.
There have been talks all weekend about how to proceed with this info.
Generally, the feeling is that we should all go ahead and get it out there
to as many blog sites and personal email lists as is possible. I have
already seen a few short blurbs about this - the 'health problem' cited in
those articles was aneurysm. Probably many of you have heard the same
rumblings.
However, at this point, with this inside info from the DNC, it looks like
this Obama strategy will be a go. Therefore, it seems that the best
strategy is to get out in front of this Obama maneuver, spell it out in
detail, and thereby expose it for the grand manipulation that it is.
So, let's start mixing this one up and cut the Obamites off at the pass -
send this info out to as many people as you can - post about it on websites
and blogs - etc.

We better talk to Chavez, we import 15% of our oil from him. If he cuts us off, we are in deeper trouble than we are today. Chavez isnt going anywhere, he has been elected president twice and is very popular in his country. We need to find a way to deal with him since our coup attempts have been so inept.

Obama can't win. There is nothing in it for the media. The ratings will cease in an Obama adminisration it would be better for McCain because liberals watch cable news. They won't watch cable news if their guy wins, they won't want to see him criticized. They will watch if McCain is president because they will want to criticize him.

Meredith Vieira, apparently believing NBC News caught Sarah Palin in some credibility-destroying gaffes, on Thursday's Today show questioned Bill Bennett about Palin's "trustworthiness." Vieira, reciting charges made in a story from Savannah Guthrie which also aired on Wednesday night's NBC Nightly News, hit Bennett on relatively trivial matters about Palin's record, such as whether or not she had crossed the Iraqi/Kuwaiti border or if her plane had stopped in Ireland.
When Bennett insisted "I think this is pretty small beer, really, pretty small stuff. She was in Kuwait, did she step foot in Iraq? Maybe, maybe not. Was she in Ireland? Yeah because the plane landed in Ireland. This is not big stuff," Vieira was incredulous: "How is that small stuff? How, how is that small stuff?"

I love reading what you idiots post.
I work in the political/legislative process, so, a lot of what's posted is funny like inside baseball can be funny.
But, if you think the things you say, and the strident way in which you say them, convince the regular working folks in America to support either candidate, you are sadly mistaken....
Americans hate politics because you people talk personalities and not issues.
Why do you think the fastest rising group of voters are the NPA's? It's because you party hacks focus on tearing down the other guy, not telling us why you're the better option.
Both of our presidential candidates are good decent men.
To tear them down says far more about your lack of confidence in your ideas and far more about your insecurities.
Grow up, people.
