Greer would buck national GOP again
Could Florida in 2012 once again be at the center of a nasty fight over the primary schedule? Perhaps. Republicans at the national convention Monday decreed that only Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina can hold their 2012 primary or caucus votes before the first Tuesday in March, though a special committee will hammer out more details of the recommended primary in 2010.
Florida GOP Chairman Jim Greer says he would "absolutely not" hesitate to buck the schedule again, even though the Florida GOP lost half its voting strength, and some delegates suspect their distant hotel was punishment for the early primary. It could set up an interesting scenario if Democrats in the Legislature fight hard to stop an early primary to avoid DNC penalties (and don't tell us they did that this time, because we don't buy it).
"Clearly at the end of the day Florida played a major role in determining our party's nominee because of the date our our primary. Although we have this one last little issue of I'm only casting 57 electoral votes, I've got a full delegation on the floor, I've got all the alternates here, I've got Florida with premier seating,'' Greer said. "We dominated the process."

Greer is an idiot. Delegates are talking bad behind his back.

Adam, do you read these things before you post? There are more typos in that post than a 3rd grade composition paper.

why is the blog not posting the Palin issue story today on her love for "earmarks" as a local-yocal in Alaska. Going so far to even get DC lobbyist to try to get earmarks. The same earmaks that McSenile has said is the devils work. The wost pick in history continues to give.

Does every GOPer live in a freaking fantasy world? No wonder you let you brainless leader Dubya damn near ruin this once great nation.

The only thing Greer dominated was the buffet line.

It is profoundly offensive that political party committees think they can dictate when American will vote and that some Americans votes must be more important than others.
Who are they to say Iowa and New Hampshire have to be more important?
The primary schedule was, is and will always be controlled by state legislatures. Florida's primaries haven't mattered for too long before the dates were changed. We SHOULD NOT slip quietly back into line--mattering only as much as a party committee says we should.
Our legislature should, on the very opening of the session after the election, ensure that both national parties know their "power" to decide whose primary vote will matter most is forever passed.
Arrogant, gormless, partisan self-aggrandizers can go to hell.

Dear Jewish Palin supporters:
Of all the names that are thrown out to confuse you remember this:
1. Only one, Palin, is a on the record supporter of someone who praises Hitler.
2. Only 1, Palin, is currently on a major US party ticket for the Vice Presidency.
"Never again" and there is no way this risky choice deserves the Jewish vote for Vice President of the United States. And if you still have doubts, I encourage you to visit Alaska Palins home state to see how blatant alive and well anti-semitist is. Palin is not an option. If you cant vote for Obama, sit this selection out.

Ah, the age old "you should sit this election out" strategy. Well played sir, well played.

Apparently you have never watched the movie Blues Brothers. Did you forget the part about Illinois Nazi's.
Yes, I know that the Messiah will probably smite me down for talking against him.

Palin is a disaster pick and McCain showed down right poor judgement in putting Americans at risk by picking her.
From CNN's Jack Cafferty
Was Governor Sarah Palin properly vetted?
There's a growing sense that John McCain may not have done all his homework before making his V.P. pick.
Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is now grabbing headlines for all the wrong reasons: her 17-year-old unmarried daughter is pregnant. Palin has hired a private lawyer in the "trooper gate" ethics investigation. She was for the bridge to nowhere before she was against it. Palin appeared at a convention of the Alaska Independence Party — which tried to get votes on whether the state should secede from the union. Her husband was arrested 22 years ago on a DUI. And, although Palin is now railing against earmarks, she got hundreds of millions of dollars in federal funding for local projects as both governor and as mayor of Wasilla.
There's more. What about her foreign policy credentials? CNN's Campbell Brown repeatedly asked McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds last night why Palin is ready to be commander-in-chief, what qualifications she has, and to name one foreign policy decision Palin has made – Campbell never got an answer. It's reported that Palin may have only traveled overseas once, last year to Germany and Kuwait

i don't really like greer, but i gotta agree on this one - the FL GOP primary really did shake the trees and determine the primary winner and losers - romney and giuliani were knocked out and huckster followed about a week later
