'Lost' Palm Beach votes spur confusion
An election meltdown in Palm Beach County is stoking concerns of even bigger problems in November's presidential vote. The state Election Canvassing Commission Friday certified the results of the Aug. 26 primary, but controversy persists. The four-member panel refused to certify a tight judicial contest in Palm Beach County between Judge Richard Wennet and challenger William Abramson, who trails by 60 votes out of more than 102,000 cast.
Secretary of State Kurt Browning, who heads the four-member commission, is just back from Palm Beach where he spent two days trying to help the county elections office untangle an embarrassment involving what he says are nearly 3,500 "unaccounted for" ballots. Browning said an "irregular" vote tally in Palm Beach County prevents the canvassing commission from certifying the result in the Wennet-Abramson race. A lawsuit is expected Monday by an attorney for Abramson, challenging the decision (Abramson hired attorney Mark Herron who said he'll likely file suit Monday).
Meanwhile, the Palm Beach Post reports that county officials are now reviewing voter registration logs in an effort to get a more accurate number on exactly how many people voted.
Asked if this latest Palm Beach fiasco should diminish voter confidence in the new optical-scan system he championed, Gov. Charlie Crist said: "I hope not. I hope not. It shouldn't. It shouldn't."
To further complicate matters, Supervisor of Elections Arthur Anderson lost a re-election bid in the Democratic primary to Rep. Susan Bucher in a race in which Bucher repeatedly question Anderson's ability to manage elections. "He's demoralized," Browning said of Anderson.

Here we go again. Why can't the democrat election supervisors get this right?

Because the Democrats weren’t invited to the Republican SOE’s class on “How to Steal an Election and Get Away With It”.

You can always tell when school is back in session… cause the teen chat rooms are empty during the day so Lance shows up here.
Get off you mm’s computer, Lance, wipe the screen off and get back in the basement and wait for a fresh bag of cheetos… and no, your pp wasn’t always orange.

What's the difference between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama?”
“One is a well turned-out, good-looking, and let's be honest, pretty sexy piece of eye-candy.
“The other kills her own food

This SOE has no business being in the position and has a history of foul-ups. This is just one more example of Robert Wexler's pick messing up an election.

Let's see...
Democrats in Plam Beach COunty made butterfly ballots and screwed up 2000 election.
Democrats in Florida scream for new voting system. Say touchscreens are best. State pays millions.
Democrats decide they don't like touch screens anymore, and scream for optical scan. State spends millions getting rid of them and buying optical scan.
Democrats in Palm Beach can't get optical scan right. Blame Republican comnspiracies for it all.
Can't you clowns down there do anything right when it comes to elecitons?

This is shameful. Palm Beach and the Secretary of State's office need for this to stop - and yes, Tallahassee needs to take responsibility for votes in Florida being counted, whatever the county.
The only good news is that it could have been worse - Buddy Johnson could have been in charge.

What's the difference between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama?”
One worked as a Community Organizer and volunteered to help those most in need… and the other hates Community Organizers and volunteers and covers her sweater monkeys in flannel.
Posted by: | September 05, 2008 at 11:55 AM
Let's see...
Republicans despise Community Organizers and volunteers who help those most in need, spend $20 to play a meat whistle in a public restroom, and send young American men and women to die for corporate profit and daddy’s revenge!

Can't the State just remove the Supervisor of Elections and replace him until (presumably) Bucher takes over?

What's the difference between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama?
One has had to make actual decisions and the other simply gets to vote present.

"One has had to make actual decisions..."
... like what color gatorade to have at the Jr. Hockey Game on Saturday, which of the 6 county employees to send out to change the burned-out light bulb in the only streetlight in town... oh, and how to convince America that her daughter gets to choose; but not ours.

Send all the Yankees back home and things will be fine. They get confused when they can't pull a straight party lever to vote.

What's the difference between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama?
One is actually running for the office people say neither is ready for.

What's the difference between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama?
One will defend our Nation if attacked. The other will attack other Nations if the offend her sistsr.

12:17pm, call me just a neck from the woods but if someone tased my 12 year old child, and threatens to kill my father, I would be getting rid of his as* too. I would ask for private time in the woods.....

An bservation from both conventions:
The Democrats were on their feet cheering in wildly: "Obama, Obama, Obama!"
The Republicans were on their feet cheering wildly: "USA, USA, USA!"

The two Parties in a nutshell:
The Republican Party – predominantly wealthy and elite
The Democrat Party – everyone else
---
The Democrat Party – If you don’t agree with us; we will respect your right to “disagree”, attempt to convince you of our position, use non-violent means if called for, and blow you up in necessary.
The Republican Party - If you don’t agree with us; we will chastise, condescend, and ostracize you, and if that doesn’t work… we will just blow you up no matter the cost to us.
… if you don’t believe me, just read the following posts and decide for yourself.

12:43pm, call me just a neck from the woods but if someone tased my 12 year old child, and threatens to kill my father... THEY'D BE IN JAIL; YOU MALLEABLE MORON!
Posted by: | September 05, 2008 at 01:13 PM
1:12 if your figures are correct (they aren't) then the 50 million who voted Republican are " predominantly wealthy and elite" and the 49 million who voted Democrap are everyone else.
Wow it sounds like Supply Side Economics is finally starting to work.
See 1:12, the Republicans do not want people to live in despair. They want everyone to achieve. Unlike your party that says they are for the poor and do everything to keep them that way.
Teach a man to fish.....

Teach a man to fish..... then kill him when he fishes better than you.
Now THAT's the Republicon way!

oh, and how to convince America that her daughter gets to choose; but not ours.
what does that even mean?

Teach a man to fish..... then take them from him and give them to the trolls under the bridge
Now THAT's the Liberal way!

Gulpity, Gulpity, gulpgulpgulp… What’s my opinion today Mr. Hanity… Gulpity, Gulpity, gulpgulpgulp… What’s my opinion today Mr. Limbaugh… mmmmm, this kool aide is scrumptious; I say we give the launch codes to a Hockey Mom with a nice A S S!

You're a Palm Beach voter, aren't you?
Posted by: | September 05, 2008 at 05:21 PM
Teach a man to fish..... then tax him when he makes a profit.
Now THAT's the Obama way!
Posted by: | September 05, 2008 at 05:41 PM
and I forgot to mention that the government is the one teaching people how to fish under Obama from the taxes on the last group of people who learned how to fish and were subsequently taxed because they made a profit...
Posted by: | September 05, 2008 at 05:44 PM
and the first fisherman who was making a profit and hiring others to fish for him no longer can afford to pay people to fish for him, so those people now need training (a handout) from the government.
Posted by: | September 05, 2008 at 05:46 PM
But with Obama's plan, there are always handouts available to teach everyone new ways to fish, but just good enough so no one stands out over anyone else....
Posted by: | September 05, 2008 at 05:47 PM
and pretty soon, everyone is so reliant on government because no one is making a profit, taxes collected go down because no one wants to be successful and be taxed for being successful only to lose their living to the government... to teach people how to do what you could do successfully...

3:01 Her daughter gets to choose because that is the law. I am not sure about Alaska, but in Florida parents have no say so. Since her daughter has a choice, and she chose to have her child, Mom is happy. If abortion were prohibited, as Ms. Palin has indicated she supports, then her daughter wouldn't have a choice in the future like everyone else. What's your point?
28 years of Republican Presidents have not resulted in Roe vs. Wade being overturned, it certainly wouldn't happen under McCain/Palin. Historically McCain has been pro-choice, but Supreme Court would have to overturn the decision, not the President. Even if it is, a vast majority of states will still allow it.
I personally haven't been a fan of abstinence only, but unfortunatly most of my girlfriends have.
