PSC interviews coming up

The Buzz is that Gov. Charlie Crist will be interviewing finalists for the Public Service Commission Wednesday.

The finalists are Commissioner Lisa Edgar, whose term is slated to expire. Also in the running are William Dawson Jr. and former state Rep. Luis Rojas, R-Hialeah. Rojas is a registered lobbyist for Wal-Mart and Florida Crystals.

Rojas is a close friend to Sen. Alex diaz de la Portilla, a Miami Republican who had not shown much of interest in energy or telecom issues, before recently raising his hand and asking Senate President Ken Pruitt if he could head the legislative committee that nominates PSC members. His wife had been a registered lobbyist for AT&T until July of this year.

Hmmmm..... well at least they are not the thugs who rob you at the gas station with a gun in your face.

No, they're worse. They're guys who help companies like Florida Crystals, US Sugar, FPL and CSX suck off the public tit at taxpayer expense through corporate welfare.
Alex and Rojas are two slimy guys. After you shake their hand you have to grab the disinfectant fast!

Oh, Just great. A sleezball legislator who has has many ethics and elections violations, with a utility lobbyist wife is pushing a lobbyist to be a Public Service Commissioner. Yeah, I think this gives me confidence that he is a pro-consumer advocate. NOT! The Governor has to be out of his mind to pick this guy.

The PSC is a puppet regime so let's skip the step with a PSC? Let's save taxpayer dollars and let the utility companies plan to do whatever the Governor wants them to do until the Legislators take utility companies to court! The PSC process is no bigger a joke than the TBRC Amendment 5 fiasco.

Wasn't it Rojas' son (who worked at the PSC) one of two people arrested for selling FSU national championship trophy? Doesn't STILL work (as a lawyer) there? So many questions...so few answers!

He doesn't work there anymore. He works at the Legislature.

Wow...shocking...DLP and Lopez-Retardera on the PSC nominating council....NOT STACKED IN FAT LUIS's FAVOR AT ALL....

Thank God Charlie is tired of Speaker Prince Marco's garbage and is counting down the days till that insolent little shite gets out of town.

Luis has a better chance of squeezing into a size 42 pair of pants then he does of getting onto the PSC.

8:53 is that you JC? Manny?

Lots of love on this blog.

Luis Rojas is a very honorable man and was a good member of the legislature. I remember him as a very respectable man who voted his own mind.
It is very cheap to bring Jason into this because you are jealous of the DLP’s.
Here’s a newsflash both of the DLP’s will always make money because they are very smart.

Arguing on the internet is like winning a medal at the special olympics. Even if you win you're still a 'tard
