State GOP chairman looking national?
Florida GOP Chairman Jim Greer sounds like he's angling to become the next chairman of the Republican National Committee. No, he doesn't explicitly say so, but that's the Buzz around the Twin Cities and Greer clearly has some strong ideas about the RNC.
"What I'm interested in is not my election but a change in how we do business. The national party needs new energy, new ideas, some stronger leadership, and a better process of communicating our message,'' said Greer, a newcomer in the RNC who has been speaking to a number of delegation this week, including addressing new RNC members. "There's a lot of frustration among some states who feel exactly like I do."
Others said to be in the mix include South Carolina chairman Katon Dawson, Michigan chairman Saul Anuzis, and Shawn Steele, a national committeeman from California. If McCain wins in November and takes an active role in the party chair race, that presumably could be a boost for Greer, given how much McCain owes Charlie Crist and Florida.

Exactly WHAT does McCain owe Shrittail Charlie? He endorsed him BFD. He did so too late to do any good. McCain would have carried military and senior heavy Florida anyway.

PATHETIC HACK

Attention National members of Republican party: DO NOT let this man fool you. We conservatives in FL are counting the days until the door hits him in the a**.

"McCain would have carried military and senior heavy Florida anyway."
Really, when he wants to Veto the GI Education Bill, end Medicare, and privatize Social Security? I think McCain is desperate for someone who's willing to lie to all those seniors and GIs. Greer is just the one for the job.

What about Sharon Day after Joanne Davidson's job? That's pretty bad too.

Why is Palin proud of her teenage daughter’s “CHOICE” to have premarital sex and a b-stard child, when she wants to prevent the rest of America’s daughters from even having a choice in the first place?
… Oh, that’s right; she’s a hypocritical and blasphemous republican.
Posted by: | September 04, 2008 at 04:26 PM
Doesnt Jim Greer have to win his reelection race in florida first?
Posted by: | September 04, 2008 at 04:34 PM
4:26 - Don't try and change the subject. This is a thread opened for people to bash Greer. And the attacks will start in 5...4...3...2...1...

Its real classy to anonymously attack a woman's daughter on a blog.
Posted by: | September 04, 2008 at 04:37 PM
Greer is a disaster in FL.
Why would GOP'ers want a CAT-4 problem there??

"What I'm interested in is not my election but a change in how we do business."
? what do you mean... you don't want to try and screw all of us?
Posted by: | September 04, 2008 at 04:58 PM
Yes, Greer will do for the RNC what he did for the RPOF: Raise $15 million and spend $14.5 and get involved in races that most chairmen around the country know better than to get involved.

Well, my McCain vote will not be cast. I cannot take the chance that McCain might win and in some way that would boost the chance of this Greer fellow to become even more influential in the Republican Party.
By the way, what are Republicans supposed to say this week when our fellow citizens ask us about illegal immigration, amnesty and the massive guest worker plan that McCain wants to implement? What are we supposed to say when asked about economic plans? Preserving the Bush Tax Cuts for the wealthy is not gaining traction. Just look at that market today with the Dow down 344 points to match up with the other down days this week. Of course terrible increases in unemployement cannot be helping this can it?
More important though is what is GOP leadership going to do? I like the drill here drill now approach. What about a re-shoring jobs, re-shoring them now effort? What would be wrong with enforcing the law and deporting illegal aliens that are a tax burden and drive down wages?
Is the GOP for the average American or not? Actions not words are what is needed now. If the words are not there though I cannot risk another eight years of the current elitist crap.
Telling people to grab the status quo and hold on tight is not working for me anymore.

Only a complete loser would attack any of Palin's children. The child will not be born out of wedlock...so you pathetic description of the child as a "bast*rd" child are wrong...not to mention incredibly evil. Palin should be proud of her daughter. The only people that can stop an adult woman from having "choice" are the members of the Supreme Court.

One change is the RNC should get out of the business of dictating to states when they MUST hold their primaries or saying that some states should count more than others. Both are unamerican.
Mostly, no political party should ever again void votes as a way to insist on its power.
The states control primary dates by law and because they spend million on them. The party committees should butt the hell out.
Posted by: | September 04, 2008 at 06:03 PM
This is irrelevant. Republicans will be lucky to win any national elections for the next 20 years. Report out today, highest new unemployment claims filed in the US in decades. Noonan is right, its over for the GOP and Palin was the nail in the coffin.

The vetting process was completely thorough and I'm grateful for the results." - John McCain
As the true vetting of Sarah Palin continued yesterday, we learned more about John McCain's pick for vice-president. Here's a recap of what we learned about the person John McCain thinks should be a 72-year-old heartbeat away from the presidency:
She was involved in yet another ethical scandal, this time relating to her firing of a longtime local police chief, who "says he was fired because he stepped on the toes of Palin's campaign contributors, including bar owners and the National Rifle Association."
Although the McCain campaign has stressed her command of the Alaska National Guard as "experience," she never issued a single order.
Watch CNN's Campbell Brown call McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds out on his spin on this and more here.
Video surfaced of Sarah Palin at her church just three months ago, claiming that regardless of what policies are enacted, it doesn't mater if "people of Alaska’s heart isn’t right with God."
Palin also claimed that American soldiers have been sent to Iraq "on a task that is from God."
She can't "fix" Washington when she's played the Washington game so well:
Wasilla had received few if any earmarks before Palin became mayor. She actively sought federal funds -- a campaign that began to pay off only after she hired a lobbyist with close ties to Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska), who long controlled federal spending as chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee. He made funneling money to Alaska his hallmark.
Alaska, by the way, ranked #1 in earmarks last year.
She lied--and continues to lie without shame--regarding her alleged "opposition" to the Bridge to Nowhere.
A 62 page opposition research document from Alaska was released, filled with strange tidbits like the fact that she presided over a wedding at Wal-Mart ("it was so Wasilla") and that she once "founded a company called "Rouge Cru" -- what she called a "classy" way to say redneck -- in case her political career didn't work out a few years ago."
Just two weeks ago, she sat in the pews while her pastor delivered an anti-Jewish sermon.
Yesterday morning, we learned that the Troopergate report was due out on the eve of the election, October 31st. Yesterday afternoon, we learned that the investigation would probably be delayed because the star witness suddenly decided not to testify.
Two days ago, longtime chair of the AIP, a secessionist party, stated that Palin attended their 1994 Convention: "Palin was at the convention in 1994. She was there." Yesterday, he said he couldn't remember.
Speaking of the secessionist party (and the fact that is has been confirmed that Sarah Palin's husband has been a member for almost a decade), we learned that the FBI did not conduct a background check on Palin.
The McCain camp worked the refs before Palin's speech, claiming that the media were being sexist by asking questions. Meanwhile, in the reality-based world, McCain's National Co-Chair stated that the press coverage has been "completely fair."
Palin isn't helping McCain in the polls. In fact, it's Obama who is enjoying a Palin bounce.
All that, in just 24 hours.
But members of the press, John McCain is telling you to back off asking questions, so you should just trust his judgment.
Because clearly, from what we have learned in just the last five days, judgment is something McCain has by the bucketful

Q - What do you call it when a well qualified woman is passed over for a job in favor of a far lass qualified man?
A - The DNC Convention in Denver.

You are a liar. Read the new poll by that bastion of "fairness", Obama's CBS:
The presidential race between Barack Obama and John McCain is now even at 42 percent, according to a new CBS News poll conducted Monday-Wednesday of this week.
This is in contrast to a poll conducted last weekend, where the Obama-Biden ticket led McCain-Palin by eight points, 48 percent to 40 percent.
Looks like the Messiah is losing ground to me. And the full impact of the Repub. Convention and Palin is not even factored in!!!! Sorry Obama Toad, you are wrong.
Posted by: | September 04, 2008 at 06:45 PM
Palin's teleprompter failed last night. She went right on and didn't miss a beat. Can you imagine Obama if this had happened: uh..oh..um..duh..um..!
He would have been totally lost. Palin has class. Obama, classless!!!

McCain/Palin the ticket I've been waiting for!!
The vet and the mommy - not the plagiarist and the commie!!

Greer is a machine in Florida. He put together a strong team and will need that team to get anything done. Jim Rimes has the ability to step in as the head of the RPOF and continue to expand Chairman Greers foundation. While the behind the seen people are the hardest works and don't care about getting the credit for their work, they just stay focused on their goals and their loyalty in Rimes.
If Arlene could stay out of the way of the RPOF McCain would win Florida in a landslide.

Jim rimes is the man and the magic behind Greer

Obama as a Community Organizer--what a joke!! Obama's organizing was of rather a different sort. He organized mostly radical types to promote further rabble rousing in the community. Quite a different community organizer. Moreover, he mobilised taxpayer funds for his own salary in order to organize. There generally isn't any accountability for this type of "work" and the funding. Lastly, perhaps you should read up on how he helped his friend, former domestic terrorist Ayers, mismanage $49 million that was supposed to improve Chicago inner city schools. The end result was zero improvement and no record to show what the money was spent on. This is really no surprise, we know that government bureaucrats love nothing better than to spend other peoples' money in order give themselves a feeling of accomplishment. That is all that Obama is interested in. Like Palin said, he is not interested in the welfare of the country and I say he is only interested in his own ego and rise to fame

Any updates on Charlie's wedding???
Posted by: | September 04, 2008 at 09:19 PM
It looks like the boys at the RPOF (8:26) are sharpening their knives. Look out Arlene they are coming for you. Then they will start going after each other. Charlie will find excuses to stay away since he doesn't have anything to gain from a McCain victory. Thank goodness for those hurricanes.
Posted by: | September 04, 2008 at 09:36 PM
Greer has ruined the state party. He gets involved in primaries and pits one republican against another. He then exceeds the party budget quarter after quarter.
We do not need him in Florida and he would be a catergory 5 disater on a national level.
Posted by: | September 04, 2008 at 10:10 PM
If Greer's going for the RNC post, then he really is drinking out of the same cup of koolaid that Charlie has when he's eating his bland piece of toast during breakfast. I mean come on, this guy burns through campaign donations like a meth addict on a bender. He has a bigger entourage that Chucks. It is true, Rimes is the only real brains behind the operation. But ladies and gentleman thing of this terrifying possibility if Greer magically did get the RNC post. Arlene; the stark raving mad lunatic would have free reign on Tallahassee....That would be like the female version of Castro taking over Tally.... In the end though, if we could get rid of Greer, we might have a state party that could have some money in the bank. In that case, go for it Jimmy, you can do it!!!
Posted by: Greer = Dumb as a rock | September 05, 2008 at 01:54 AM
I would love to see Greer go on and make a fool of himself at the national level! Then everyone would see what we deal with daily.
Posted by: | September 05, 2008 at 07:14 AM
The problems created by taking sides in the primaries are now front and center. There are not enough volunteers at Republican HQ to keep all the phones busy for McCain, because people are angry about the primaries.

Jim Rimes for RNC Chair. Jim Greer is worthless.

The women had far more than the four minutes Chairman Jim Greer warned they'd have to switch chairs with male delegates in time for the roll call vote?

If Jim Greer becomes the head of the RNC I will definitely be changing my party affiliation. Greer is the most unethical corrupt chairman this party has ever seen. He is uninspiring and he runs the party like a good ole boys club. If you want to play ball, take on liberal causes (global warming/felon's voting/100% backing of our RINO governor) and have no ethics than you're in. If you're a conservative with core values who refuses to break your own ethical code your marginalized. Greer has already created a lot of disenfranchised Republicans in Florida so yes, let's put him in charge on a national level, why not? If nothing else the conservative party can quadruple it's ranks as the Republican's leave in droves.

Jim Greer...RNC???????????Poor leadership, dishonest, and part of
the "Gestopo". Jim Greer and Charlie
Crist are the reason that we are having to put up with Bill Bunting...(MR.HITLER). in Pasco County. Sad!

Jim Greer would be a fantastic RNC Chairman. He has led the way for the future of the Republican Party. I would fully support his campaign for RNC Chair.
