ABC: Tim Mahoney paid mistress
UPDATE: Mahoney's media consultant, Fletcher Rowley Chao, quits. CEO Bill Fletcher: "“As of today, FRCR, Inc. has resigned from Tim Mahoney’s campaign and permanently ended our relationship with him. According to ABC News, Tim Mahoney apparently included our company in a secret legal settlement without the knowledge of our firm. Our firm did not agree to any legal settlement. If these allegations are true Tim Mahoney’s actions are unacceptable and not in line with FRCR’s business ethics.”
ABC News: "West Palm Beach Congressman Tim Mahoney (D-FL), whose predecessor resigned in the wake of a sex scandal, agreed to a $121,000 payment to a former mistress who worked on his staff and was threatening to sue him, according to current and former members of his staff who have been briefed on the settlement, which involved Mahoney and his campaign committee. ..."
ABC has audio here of Mahoney allegedly firing his former mistress.

Like papa always said; “There isn’t a dime’s worth of difference between a elected Democrat and an elected Republican. They all suck, and the all need to go!”
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 12:57 PM
Why isn’t the “Liberal” press reporting on Palin’s affair with here husband’s business partner… which lead his wife to file divorce papers last month?

being a jackass.
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 01:11 PM
WHAT! A politician that is a lying, dirtbag, cheating, pervert, corrupt criminal?
Why; I never heard of such a thing.
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 01:14 PM
Noneya...that is sooo true. They're probably grateful that it was a legal-age female, and not some 16-year old Congressional page.
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 01:20 PM
Girl is sitting at a bar.
Rich, well-known celebrity walks in and sits beside her. Immediately, he says - "You are the most beautiful, seductive woman I have ever met. As you are no doubt aware, I am a man of means, but very little time. Will you sleep with me for fifty thousand dollars?
She is shocked by his rudeness, but knows he has the money and she could sure use some of it. "Yes. Yes I would, she stammers."
To which he replies "Would you sleep with me for fifty dollars?
Shocked, she throws her drink on him and says "What do you think I am!"
And he responds. "We have already established that, my dear. Now we are merely haggling price."

Leave Palin out of this!
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 01:39 PM
CD 16 is a redneck district. They do not mind a w_hore monger... as long as he is not another a homo monger.
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 01:40 PM
I for one, am just happy that his mistrees was a woman.
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 01:40 PM
I wouldn't mind him being gay...I just didn't like the fact that Foley wanted the young boys. That's not good.
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 01:59 PM
1:40 -- I, for one, am just happy that his mistress was of legal consent.
An improvement over his predecessor...
Posted by: The McCain doctrine | October 13, 2008 at 02:02 PM
He should resign.
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 02:05 PM
I regret the way I presented my little off color joke and apologize if I offended anyone by the way I portrayed the young lady.
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 02:08 PM
Well, at least Democrats have affairs with members of the opposite sex. We can't quite say that about the family values crowd.
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 02:30 PM
2:30 ask Barney Frank that question. his boyfriend ran a prostitution ring out of his condo and nothing came of it.
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 02:36 PM
Much to the Republicans chagrin, this will be a non-issue come election day. CNN hasn't even reported on this because no one cares!!
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 02:36 PM
Umm you all are idiots. 16 is the legal age in DC. Foley never touched any of these 16 year olds, simply sent them naughty emails. And he did this after they worked for him. The pages never directly worked for Foley. Mahoney's had fire power over his mistress.
Unless you believe that homosexuals are committing a crime, Mahoney's scandal is a billion times worse!
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 02:39 PM
homosexuals are committing a crime

"CNN hasn't even reported on this because no one cares!!"
No, it's because CNN loves Democrats. Period. End of story.

Timbo is done. He may not know it but he is done. Thanks for helping pro Mccain turn out wack job.
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 02:54 PM
Rahm Emmanuel needs to be sanctioned for his attempt at cover up after he knew about this and did NOTHING for weeks. Mahoney has broken the law and they're trying to cover it up.
Mahoney, you should be ashamed and resign.
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 03:12 PM
cheaters suck. don't vote for mccain -- he already crossed that line.
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 03:16 PM
Story STILL not on CNN:

Mahoney will resign right after Vitter, Craig, etc.
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 03:20 PM
hey 3:12... it's spelled hypocrisy. Let us know when you learn to spell on an 8th grade level.
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 03:23 PM
I actually quite annoyed with the Mahoney supporters on this page.
You all make homosexuality sound like it is the worst thing ever. I would expect these comments from someone who was conservative but comments like "at least it wasn't a homo" are quite offensive from people who claim to be the "big tent" party.
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 03:31 PM
Most of us liberals are gay and proud of it. Maybe not most, but when you add in the rest of the alphabet soup, GLBT, you easily cross the 50% mark.
Talk about a big tent; yeah baby!
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 03:51 PM
Look, if you chastized people for being a hippocrit (on purpose JO) you would run out of ink on the liberals alone.
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 03:53 PM
WEXLER IS NEXT! STAY TUNED! THEY HUNG AROUND TOGETHER IN DC AND WERE THE BEST OF BUDDIES!
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 04:11 PM
Mahoney spokesperson said, "she has not received any special payment from campaign funds."
That's not the same as saying, "she has not received any payment from campaign funds."
No doubt, no money is coming directly out of Mahoney's pockets--however, this affair is going to cost him dearly. It won't be pleasurable.
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 04:23 PM
Why is it that democrats don't think gays and lesbians have family values?
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 04:29 PM
That's not much money...
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 04:31 PM
He's out and should be. They guy was told to zip it, and he didn't. Pretty simple stuff really. You know who this reminds me of? John McCain. Yep, slept around on his wife like a dog and then left his family. That seems to me to reveal positively lousy character of a man, POW or not. But I'm sure JMac stopped being a skirt chaser once he reached elected office. I can see where gaining power and the adoration of thousands would lead to a decrease in, if not the elimination of, the desire to sleep with women other than one's wife.
At least McCain left his wife after she'd been disfigured in a car accident, Fellas, are you with me? (Country first!). Mahoney's wife wasn't even in a car accident, so he's scummier.
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 04:39 PM
Good grief. Do all Democrat women have tape recorders?

The Democrat Culture of Corruption continues.

When even the political consultants bail on you it must be bad...

You seem to imply there is some subversive plot behind not revealing something negative about Sarah Palin. Umm...in case you've missed it, she has been pretty much slammed about everything in her life, I doubt they missed this one.
Either way, I'd give this one a rest, she's toast.
Posted by: Gator(R) | October 13, 2008 at 05:43 PM
Tim Mahoney will be called on to resign by the end of the week and will likely oblige.
You heard it here first.
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 06:00 PM
How does the Federal Elections Commission view taking campaign funds to pay off the camp followers, and enter into legal agreements with the camp follower via a campaign paid vendor?
Mr. Mahoney is in the deep stuff.
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 06:24 PM
Isn't that the same media firm used by Karen Thurman and the Democratic Party?
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 06:34 PM
