ABC: Tim Mahoney paid mistress
UPDATE: Mahoney's media consultant, Fletcher Rowley Chao, quits. CEO Bill Fletcher: "“As of today, FRCR, Inc. has resigned from Tim Mahoney’s campaign and permanently ended our relationship with him. According to ABC News, Tim Mahoney apparently included our company in a secret legal settlement without the knowledge of our firm. Our firm did not agree to any legal settlement. If these allegations are true Tim Mahoney’s actions are unacceptable and not in line with FRCR’s business ethics.”
ABC News: "West Palm Beach Congressman Tim Mahoney (D-FL), whose predecessor resigned in the wake of a sex scandal, agreed to a $121,000 payment to a former mistress who worked on his staff and was threatening to sue him, according to current and former members of his staff who have been briefed on the settlement, which involved Mahoney and his campaign committee. ..."
ABC has audio here of Mahoney allegedly firing his former mistress.

If Edwards and Mahoney and Rangel and Jefferson were Republicans how different would the media coverage be?

Like papa always said; “There isn’t a dime’s worth of difference between a elected Democrat and an elected Republican. They all suck, and the all need to go!”

Your Papa was a very smart man

Nice to see the party of the working people treating a woman so nicely.

West Palm Beach is the place to be if you're a politician! It's apparently the red-light district of the Florida House. What do you guys want? Boys? Cheap slizzuts? We got ya covered down here! Flash your House card and there's no telling how low you can go. What West Palm beach needs is serious reform. This town is the pimple on the posterior of FL. Look at the voting fiasco! Look at the elected House members(can I use that word on this post?) Can the State of Fl please bail out West Palm Beach of their votes because they have degraded themselves to an utter state of chaos. This town is starting to sound more and more like Baltimore every day!

Wow! Who recorded it? Her or him? It won't stand up in court unless it was authorized by a Judge, if it wasn't, then why is it being national air time?
In any event what happens with 2 CONSENTING adults behind closed doors should remain there! For a married man to be caught whoring around, he seems to be a little ballsy in his tone!

Mahoney is gross. They haven't even spoken about the other woman...who word is happens to work for a county in the good Congresman's district. This story goes way deeper and I hope they dig it up. This is going to be fun. Keep watching.

Isn't it illegal to tape
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 08:47 PM
It depends on where the audio taping was done. In some states, it's not a crime.

You can listen to Mahoney yelling in the audio tape at ABC News. This guy is the scum of the earth. He will be voted out like Foley was. No ethics investigation necessary after the election.

ABC NBC CBS not covering news?
liberal media bias?

Thanks Tim Mahoney, this district will go back to Republican control.
We need to knock out neighboring District 19 Robert Wexler next since he does not even live in FL.

Tom Rooney - what a decent guy

I first heard about his affair from one of his campaign staffers back in June.
Yep, four months ago.

Nothing new under the sun. Exact same behavior former Congressman Bill Chappell was accused of, and many others. That it comes out weeks before the election is the only surprising element.

Life is filled with irony isn't it? Mahoney will not and should not survive this scandal of his own making. The tape is most revealing of his true character as is using campaign donations to buy his way out of his private indiscretions.
As the saying goes, "people living in glass houses..."
