Puerto Rican proxies for Obama | Main | For some, new voting law 'a real bummer' »

October 10, 2008

And another one..

For those who like a little celebrity with their politics, actor Hill Harper - Dr. Sheldon Hawkes in "CSI: NY" - will be hosting a voter education forum and barbecue for Barack Obama at noon Sunday in Ragan Park in Tampa.

He and Obama have been pals since their days at Harvard Law School together, the campaign says.

Comments

I will never do business with Coldwell Banker again.

sweet!!!

4:35 -- like you ever owned a home...lol...douchebag

Isn't Obama like 47 and this guy is like 33? How did they go to Harvard together?

Maybe they are pals because they are both Harvard Alumni...either way the campaign should not make things up.

And both Obama and Harper have become such great actors. One plays a doctor, the other gets to play President.

... morons

all you haters can thank me later for voting for obama

i'm still waiting for your apology you owe me for voting for bush

Harper is 42. Obama took a couple years off between undergrad and Law school. Therefore, they were at Harvard together. morons.

Hill is 42. Obama took a few years off in between undergrad and law school. They were classmates at Harvard. morons.

Is this like the campaign event Obama's other friend, Bill Ayers, an unrepentant domestic terrorist had for Obama?

Walter Annenberg, a prominent republican and close friend of Ronald Reagan, was the man who gave 49.2 Million dollars to Ayers for the Annenberg Challenge.

McCain/Palin should call the Annenberg family terrorists also. Wait, the Annenbergs are contributors to McCain.

McCain is a liar!

Nope, just the man who wrote the grant that got Annenbert that money - plus $120 million of public money besides. Than man was Bill Ayers. And the Board Chairman? Barack Hussein Obama.

When is bill ayers holding a voter registration for barack?

Tom | October 10, 2008 at 05:46 PM

Stop the tom foolery. Annenberg is not running for president.

barack obama is and he is very comfortable hanging around with terrorists like bill ayers.

I'm saddened and amazed by how many people I know who are educated and aware, yet are still under the spell of the silver tongued affirmative action candidate named Obama.

Couple Barack's association with Bill Ayers and the fact that he set in a pew for 20 years listening to a radical, racist preacher, and got his house/mortgage arranged by a criminal thug and you begin to get the picture of a politician straight out of the back streets of Chicago politics. His whole schtick about change is a ruse. He really does believe in change but it is change to a socialist government and nanny state. That is what he is all about.

It's a shame the leftie media has been protecting him for the past couple of years. They have given him a free pass on everything including his total lack of experience and all his ties to radicals and crackpots.

Democrats who've played the race card:

Barack Obama and his campaign spokes-people
Jimmy Carter
Barney Frank

Republicans who've played the race card:

Wait a minute...you mean none of the evil Republicans have used race as an issue in this campaign, only the equal opportunitist Democrats?

American voters have every right to know the background of a virtual unknown who would be their President.

The fact that Obama's hiding his past is a major red flag.

The fact that the mainstream media is giving him a pass on revealing his personal history is an indictment of the press.

KILL HIM, KILL OBAMA! OFF WITH IS HEAD!

(republicans really yell these things at their rally's, and expect average people to trust them with anything.)

"Much deeper than Obama said"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wI7pUMbaINI

Oh hey look, McCain still has no idea how the economy works, and is erratic in the face of crisis. No wonder republicans can't make a realistic argument based on the issues.

All you Republicans are not fit to gaze upon
the Prophet Incarnate. OBAMAHU AKBAR! OBAMAHU AKBAR! OBAMAHU AKBAR!

You know, that does tend to make a fellow a bit nervous.

Obama Supporters
Three reasons:

The majority of black voters will choose him BECAUSE they identify him as black. (He's also equally white, but to them he's of the black race.)

The leftists in the democratic party are hell-bent on making the United States a socialist country and is one of them.

The rest of his followers do not have the intelligence to understand that socialism will destroy the country for themselves and those who come after them.

It is imperative that every Republican and Independant vote for McCain and encourage everyone they know to do the same. I look at this election like this: If you want to live in a socialist welfare state then by all means vote Obama. If, however, you want to bring our government back to working within the guidelines of our constitution, then the McCain vote is what is needed. NOW GET BACK TO WORK! Millions of illegal immigrants on entitlement programs are depending on YOU!

John Adams famously said: "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

The second sentence of this quote applies to Liberals.

McCain's economic policy is far more socialist then Obama's.

Blacks vote democrats because they are the party that didn't filibuster civil rights. McCain tried to kill the MLK holiday twice, and supported his state ignoring the holiday. Of course they will vote for whoever the democratic candidate is.

You racist.

KILL THE TERRORIST!

I dress in womans clothes, wear lipstick and hang make pretend i am married to THE ONE!

I guess noon Sunday there will be no Obama bloggers on this site. They will be in Tampa getting edumacated. HAha

It takes one idiot to tell the other idiot how smart they are. And use protection!

OFF WITH IS HEAD!

Palin and John have to go spend a full week in WV to defend the state. That's how bad the polls are. People are tired of the crazy fundamentalists that have taken over the republican party.

Jason, please explain how the economy works. Maybe you can give me the Obama Primer. Didn't one of his memoirs have a chapter on it?

We know you are voting for Obama, and I've made it clear I am voting for McCain. I don't imagine Obama understands much more than McCain about the economy, and will both rely on others, as they are now in their campaign for advice and talking points.

And while your at it point out someone who actually has responsibility to fix this mess who is calm - I can't imagine many are sleeping much.

Some of the smartest financial people in the world caused this mess and are now trying to fix it. And I believe both campaigns have some of the guilty parties working for them. Do you think any of them really has a true understanding of how the whole economy works? I don't.

Jason - MLK day and General Robert E. Lee's Day are the same day. We always had the good Generals Day to celebrate.

Jason - I thought southern democrats filibutstered the Civil Rights bill before it was signed, not Republicans.

Obama will rely on people like Warren Buffet, while McCain relys on the lady who almost destroyed HP, and Phil Gramm. The man responsible for repealing the glass-steagall act. The very act that protected our economy from the current crisis.

Those southern democrats left the party to join the republican party. Who backed their filibusters.

Robert E Lee, was a traitor to the nation and a terrorist.

The farther McCain falls in the polls the nastier his campaign and his supporters become. We should take all the crap posted above as a good sign. Republicans are obnoxious when the win and become really obnoxious (and sometime violent) when they lose. We should prepare ourselves for a lot of obnoxious behavior on the part of Republicans for the next 8-16 years. Invest in earplug manufacturing stock.

Gator - at 6:36 you said, "I don't imagine Obama understands much more than McCain about the economy, and will both rely on others..."

I agree completely but the scary part is that Phil 'never saw a regulation he liked' Gramm is McCain's adviser on the economy. The fox guarding the hen house cliche comes to mind immediately.

I supported and voted McCain in the 2000 primary (yes, I was registered (R) for 25 years) but you and I know he is not the same man today. Not by a long shot. I believe he's sold his soul so he to become president by any means necessary and finally prove to daddy and granddaddy that he is worthy of their name.

McCain can't control the racist beast he created.

John McCain was booed by his own supporters during a rally on Friday after he described Barack Obama as a "decent person and a person that you do not have to be scared of as president of the United States."

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Legislative panel finds Palin abused her power in firing of public safety commissioner.

Palin is in way over her head. She was governor for less than 2 years and abused her power already. I just think her selection tells me all I need to know about Mccain. A reckless gambler.

Even as I wave a farewell hankie at my investment holdings as they sink into the briny deep, I draw spiritual comfort from seeing the McCain-Failin' campaign unceremoniously drown with them. The advance signs of rapid decay are everywhere in McCain's campaign, a death mask forming with rictus sneer that resembles a silent snarl.

My rooting interest is less about Obama himself than about how big a hurt he can put to the Republican Party. I don't want the Republican Party simply defeated in November, I want to see it smashed beyond all recognition, in such wriggling, writhing, anguished disarray that it can barely reconstitute itself, so desperate for answers that it looks to Newt Gingrich for visionary guidance, his wisdom and insight providing the perfect cup of hemlock to finish off the conservative movement for good so that it can rot in the salted earth of memory unmissed and unmourned in toxic obscurity.

I really don't think that's too much to ask, even in these frugal times.

10 Republicans and 4 Democrats find Sarah Palin Guilty as Charged in TrooperGate.

McCain is a fool!

People who love America side with McCain.
People who hate America side with Obama.
Simple.

6:00 it is not Obama's "silver toungue". It is not that silvery. He has no experiencee no qualifications, no accomplishments. He offers no solutions to our problems and associated with people who hate this country and everything it stands for.

His followers fall into 2 categories:

1) Blacks.
2) Whites who are riddled with guilt over slavery.

I guess the last two guys just got back from a Mccain or Palin rally. All that hate is contagious. Your candidate today just threw in the towel. He had to tell his supporters that Obama is a decent citizen and family man. Sort of undercuts the terrorist crap don't you think. He either got a conscious today or he saw the internal poll numbers that people are now afraid of him and his crazy mob of supporters. Which do you think it is?

The Republican National Committee is about to pull the plug on its joint ads with the McCain campaign, and devote its resources instead to trying to save a couple of the senators who are at serious risk of losing their seats.

you guys keep bringing up ayers...no one is listening but i'd like to point out that mccain has been butt buddies with bush for 8 years -- economic failure, military failure, and all around hater of our constitution.

so again...no one is listening...and when people do...you sound like idiots.

To anyone still thinking of voting for McCain please google "The McCain-Palin Mob" or "The Sidewalk to Nowhere" and watch the YouTube videos. These are REAL McCain supporters waiting in line for his events! Are these the sort of people you want to be aligned with? Some of the things they say are downright frightening considering the history of extremist behavior in this country. This is getting out of control and I hope McCain stops it before its too late.

Word is that McCain will be digging up Charles Keating to campaign with him in the retiree areas. He will also be attending a few fundraisers with other bankrupt crooked bankers who are friends with McCain.

Hillary Supporter for McCain
The crowd is angry because the MSM has failed to vet or investigate Obama except in the most superficial way. The false story about the Palin inquiry is typical.

The MSM is focusing on the firing of one guy in Alaska. Yet, the media does not report on Obama's fake birth certificate. BO's connections to Ayers runs deep. Ayers raised the $50 million dollars for the non-profit board and Obama is selected to direct that money to groups including ACORN. Ayers is equivalent to a Timothy McVeigh.

We have the greatest economic crisis since the Depression and the media whitewashes all of Obama's shady political history. One more thing, most of the media is focusing on the Palin story but covering up Obama's ties to Acorn and attempts to steal this election in battleground states.

Palin charged with corruption in trooper scandal...Book 'er Dano!

12:43

Is there any report ever written about Obama being corrupt? No. There is for Palin! NaNaNaNaNa. NaNaNaNaNaNa.

Has Obama ever been investigated for taking illegal contributions from Charles Keating and taking 11 trips with Keating to the Bahamas? No.
But McCain has! NaNaNaNaNa. NaNaNaNaNaNa.

What this investigation tell me...
So...Todd and/or Sarah wanted to remove a trooper, who threatened a family member and tazered a boy; then she wanted to transfer out a commissioner who failed to do his job (in most workplace environments, it's called 'insubordination'). Good for Sarah for standing up once again to the 'good ole boys network' and standing up against the real abusers of power!

I voted for Romney in the primary. Basically, I could foresee McCain being a pathetic candidate since he really isn't a conservative.

Now, I will be voting for Bob Barr for obvious reasons. I'd like to find out how many others on this board will join me.

12:50,

Face it. She's corrupt! Abuse of power. Hello? Ever heard of Richard Nixon?

So now you liberals are protecting
a child abusing psychopath? If Joe public witnessed a cop taser his 10 y/o stepson.

You scumbags are pathetic you are more interested in protecting your precious Dali-Bama than you are in the truth.

You just know ACORN and Ayers and Obama's other Islamic radical ties are devastating your chances.

Further you know that your whole hog Obama media will continue to turn out phony polls in the hopes that they can drag Obama over the finish line

Palin isn't going anywhere but Pennsylvania Ave. Obama is too radical and his ties to his muslim cousin from Kenya Odinga are going to deep 6 his campaign for good

What did I miss?

The story said she was well within her right to dismiss this alleged wife beater who was protecting one of his own.

Here we go again

The left will beat this dog until they can convince the stupid that it's a "'gate". Just like always, they will ignore the glaring misbehaviors and downright criminality of demonRATs, including the far greater misdeeds at Fannie and Freddie by Barney and his boyfriend, Dodd, and various Clinton cronies. They do this every time and it makes them what they are.

I remain happy to be part of the opposition.

Abusive!

I can't wait to see how the news media will protect the two abusive people that should have been fired. Both were abusive to their families. Walter Monegan was abusive to his x-wife and trooper Wooton to his step-son. Perhaps Acorn can get these two criminals to register to vote several times. They sound like Obama supporter to me

We Love Sarahcuda

Wake up America.

The issue about is really about abuse of power,Right.

America, the biggest abuse of power is the liberal Demoricat leaders, Chris Dodd, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and Bahney Fwank.

They exploited and abused their power to the point of causing the greatest financial crisis since the 20s.

And what happens, the media and the Democrats are focusing on whether Sarah rightfully fired an insubordinate employee.

If McCain loses this election, you will have only yourselves to blame.

But I have a feeling you will never figure out how.

Bad, bad Sarah

Sarah definitely should not be in the White House. She would very likely fire some insubordinate, lying thieving demonrats.

Notice the ethics committee did not recommend a criminal investigation or or any further action.

Why... because they don't have anything to base their decision on. Of course some Republicans are bitter, she called them on their crap.

While reading the report on Palin, what first jumped out at me was that she repeatedly got in touch with, as did her family, with Grimes to see what the status was on the investigation into Wooten. Never mind that Grimes seems to have repeatedly told them that she was unable to share any information with them due to Alaska statutes regarding confidentiality of it's personnel. She even quoted the statute number identifying it.

So one can see this means that Palin either did not know about the confidentiality laws regarding state personnel investigations, or she did not care.

Todd Palin seems to see no problem with his discussions with state staff regarding various state business - from plane availability to Wooten's investigation. There seems to be a sense of entitlement in this family.

Ever heard of Richard Nixon?

Ever hear of Ayers, Wright, Rezcko, Kalidi, Odinga

Oh yeah I forgot, you want to keep changing the subject

. There seems to be a sense of entitlement in this family.

Posted by: | October 11, 2008 at 01:20 AM

Why because she fired a dirty cop?

Do you want him or his violent trooper on your police force?

6 of 10 Republicans had a problem with the report and sued to block it. The fact that she clobbered some unethical Republicans means that she made enemies. Go ahead and gloat and continue to act like stupid in your prejudice.

Also remember that the trooper ADMITTED to tasering his 10 year old step-son and that he had alcohol in his squad car. He also beat his wife and threatened the Palin family and IS STILL A TROOPER CARRYING A GUN!

Here is the guy she fired:

Via the San Francisco Chronicle Monegan admitted dislocating his wife’s shoulder “by accident” by “wrestling and tickling” her. His estranged wife, Georgene Moldovan, tells another story.

Moldovan sought a restraining order against him in 1994 after he threatened to kill her, waved a gun at her and knocked her shoulder out of socket, according to court papers. The court papers say: “he pulled out his gun and waved it at me outside my home and yelled he would kill me if I stopped him.”

1:23 she DIDN'T fire the cop. It was not her place to do so.

Hey NeoCon morons, Pathetic Palin fired the state's public safety commissioner...not the trooper.

The fired commissioner is a highly decorated ex-marine who wouldn't fire the ex-brother-in-law trooper of Sarah Palins. Yes that's right the guy she wanted fired was her ex brother-in-law.

The problem is the coverup Palin attempted when she was caught. She lied and cheated and paid off some of her "friends" to keep it quite.

There is talk of the state of Alaska starting impeachment proceedings against Gov. Sarah Palin after November 4th.
It won't be the first time a Gov. has been recalled.

Does anyone remember him from Married with Children? That was a funny show :)

Obama: no experience, no acomplishments. No solutions, just hot air.

And think of his "friends" list:

Domestic Terrorist Bill Ayers
Anti-Semite Louis Farrakran
Anti-America Minister Jeremiah Wright
Convicted Swindler Tony Reszko

Think what he can do for America...

2:25 you think it is really responsible to keep a cop on the payroll who drinks in his squad car and tasers 10 year olds for kicks?
That's what Wooten did. Let's NOT lose sight of that.

The Commissioner? He's just ticked because she freed him. Sha CAN. The Commissioner serves at the pleasure of the Governor.

Do you left-wingers realize you are defending an abusive husband, step=father?

Uh-Oh! The polls are already starting to move again. Troopergate is going to be yet another blow to the McCain/Palin ticket from hell.

I guess the people are tired of abuse of power under Bush/Cheney. We don't need more autocrats in office. Palin would probably try to re-establish the Inquisition.

Thank you Alaska Republicans for looking out for the rights of your citizens and exposing the Palin abuse of power. If more Republicans were concerned about ethics instead of winning at any cost, your party might have a future.

How's about a couple of you followers helping the real John McCain to stand up. Is Obama decent? Or a lying terrorist? It's confusing.....

LAKEVILLE, Minn. — After a week of trying to portray Senator Barack Obama as a friend of terrorists who would drive the country into bankruptcy, Senator John McCain abruptly changed his tone on Friday and told voters at a town-hall-style meeting that Mr. Obama was “a decent person” and a “family man” and suggested that he would be an acceptable president should he win the White House.

But moments later, Mr. McCain, the Republican nominee, renewed his attacks on Mr. Obama for his association with the 1960s radical William Ayers and told the crowd, “Mr. Obama’s political career was launched in Mr. Ayers’ living room.”

"In 1992, Acorn Hired Mr. Obama To Run A Voter Registration Effort. He Later Became A Trainer For The Group, As Well As Its Lawyer In Election Law Cases." (John Fund, Op-Ed, "Obama's Liberal Shock Troops," The Wall Street Journal, 7/12/08)

ALW - I agree McCain isn't the man he was 8 years ago, and I am appalled at the negative campaign, but I didn't like him 8 years ago either. Appears he is trying to clean up, I don't believe political, it won't change things.

As far as Sarah Palin issue, it will hurt campaign, generate bad press, but not a big deal to me in reality. I imagine most of would have done the same thing, I would have been dumbfounded that the trooper was just suspended for two weeks - guy was a nut. He represents cops liberals typically love to hate. And I really don't think she abused her power. Her husband's actions are his own as far as I'm concerned in this regard.

Remember its the Economy, Economy, Economy whenever criticisms is made of Obama's actions and associations, so this issue should fade, but it won't.

McCain Campaign is toast, with or without this. Obviously, the commission could have waited until after the election to make this call, political timing, no real substance/ no sanctions, but doesn't matter anyway, election is over.

can someone just sneak up behind McCain and scream 'Boo!' so we can focus on real issues like who's banging who on The Hills??

How are the fundamentals this weekend?

The fever pitch hate speeches by Mccains pit bull Palin should have never been allowed by McCain. If he did not agree with her, he could have reigned her in immediately, but let it go on until George will and others in his own party brought him to task. He sent Palin and his wife, NOW , On October 07, 2008, 4 days ago, A man was shot three times for wearing an Obama tee shirt, the story is at www.dailymail.co.uk.news article 1070975.

It takes a person with very narrow vision to think that those who think Palin's actions are wrong equates to defending the trooper who they were accusing of various ills. You don't have to defend one to not agree with the other.

The trooper is almost a moot point in this decision. This has to do with abuse of power and a lack of ethics. Using one's power and stature to get a person fired, to go beyond the discipline already given, and throw people out of the way to circumvent the system is the issue here. Whether or not the trooper received a just punishment is secondary.

This is also about the use of taxpayer money that a private citizen used, with the blessing of the person holding the highest office on the state, to push forth a personal grudge. This is about the access that was given.

Wooten was dealt with by his department. If it is not just, if the laws do not allow for just disciplinary actions, then you have to work within the system to change that. These actions were not about seeing that others did not have to go through what they did as far as not knowing the result of Wooten's investigation. She was/is in a position to change that if that were the goal. But this was about their grudge. Welcome to the real world, where victims do not always see justice.

what's this weeks new failed strategy for the mccain campaign? Abortion?

it's 2008 ya idiots

I REALLY FEEL SORRY FOR SEN. MCCAIN- A MAN I ADMIRED UP UNTIL THE PAST FEW MONTHS. HIS CHOICE OF SARA FAILIN WAS THE FIRST REAL INDICATION THAT HE IS NOT FIT TO SERVE AS PRESIDENT. IT IS SO SAD TO SEE HIM FALL TO THE DEPTHS HE HAS. AND I THOUGHT THE BOB DOLE CAMPAIGN WAS A JOKE!! WHEN MCCAIN IS FINISHED THE G.O.P. WILL LOOK FONDLY BACK ON THEIR LAST NOMINEE FROM ARIZONA- BARRY GOLDWATER A TRUE CONSERVATIVE.

bill ayers means more to me than health care, my home, education, the economy and my 401k. He and Obama sat on a board together, which means McCain has the best plan to restore the economy though he says he has no plan to restore the economy and wants to continue spending billions in Iraq. I think McCain will pay as much attention to the economy as he did to the vetting of his VP selection. Does maverick mean, imbecile?

Here is what everyone will be yelling when HUSSEIN is elected

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ir8Y4iFrWk8

Welcome back McToady. Your replacement Norquista fails to provide the comic relief that you deliver. What's that, another one of Karls' racist youtube creations that you expect us to watch?HAHAHAHA. That would be a first.

41 years ago this week (Oct.9, 1967) in Boliva, Ernesto "Che" Guevara got a major dose of his own medicine. Without trial, he was declared a murderer, stood against a wall and shot.

Historically speaking, justice has rarely been better served. The number of men Che's "revolutionary tribunals" condemned to death in the identical manner range anywhere from 400 to 1,892. The number of defenseless men (and boys) Che personally murdered with his own pistol runs to the dozens.

"Executions?" Che Guevara exclaimed while addressing the hallowed halls of the UN General Assembly on Dec. 9, 1964. "Certainly, we execute!" he declared to the claps and cheers of that august body. "And we will continue executing as long as it is necessary! This is a war to the DEATH against the Revolution's enemies!"

According to "The Black Book of Communism," those firing-squad executions had reached around 10,000 by that time. "I don't need proof to execute a man," snapped Che to a judicial underling in 1959. "I only need proof that it's necessary to execute him!"

Not that you'd surmise any of the above from the mainstream media or academia-much less Hollywood. From the high priests of the Fourth Estate, Che Guevara gets only accolades. Time magazine, for instance, honors Che Guevara among "The 100 Most Important People of the Century."

The man who declared, "a revolutionary must become a cold killing machine motivated by pure hate" (and set a spirited example), who boasted that he executed from "revolutionary conviction" rather than from any "archaic bourgeois details" like judicial evidence, and who urged "atomic extermination" as the final solution for those American "hyenas" (and came hearth-thumpingly close with Nuclear missiles in October 1962), is hailed by Time-not just among the "most important" people of the century-but in the "Heroes and Icons" section, alongside Anne Frank, Andrei Sakharov and Rosa Parks.

Pathetic, McToady. The life has gone out of your lies.

Hill Harper? Ick.
