Crist's quick shift on early voting hours
Proving once again, that he has no problem changing his mind, here's Gov. Charlie Crist on whether he has the authority or the will to extend early voting hours around 11 a.m. this morning.
"I don't believe we do (have the authority to extend voting hours). Under the law, it's open for eight hours per day and eight hours for the weekend. And that's what's happening in the counties throughout the state. I think it's been the most open opportunity for people to vote early that we've ever had. In addition to voting early, if they want to vote by mail, they can vote by mail. And they can vote Election Day. Florida has been terribly embracing of making sure that every voter who is qualified has every opportunity to vote and we should be very pleased by that."

Oh, Snap. Someone just got overruled by McCain.
Crist: Flip-Flopping, Flim Flam man

So then Crist is damned if he does, damned if he doesn't?
First they rag on him for not extending voting hours, then they rag on him for changing his mind?
That's fair and balanced, you betcha.

Crist only pretends to be moderate. In the end, he heels when the GOP says heel.

That was way back at 11 a.m. this morning before his staff told him which way the wind was blowing today.

Why was the "Flip Flop" headline changed?

Can someone tell me what the "Florida Elections Emergency Act" is?

Didn't take the cheaters long to get the word down to their "maverick" lapdog Charlie. Disenfranchisement is back on the menu, boys!

That's what you get when you lean to the press, Charlie. They'll bite you every time.

Looks like Dan Gelber was right when he warned this was going to happen as the bill was passed. Where was Charlie Crist then?
He needs to go. He followed on this issue -- the Democrats led on it.
PS: Jennifer, that is a good question, why was the title changed from "flip-flop"? He clearly thought he could not lgeally do it just days ago, and then changed his mind.

Are we under a declared state of emergency??
101.733 Election emergency; purpose; elections emergency contingency plan.--Because of the existing and continuing possibility of an emergency or common disaster occurring before or during a regularly scheduled or special election, and in order to ensure maximum citizen participation in the electoral process and provide a safe and orderly procedure for persons seeking to exercise their right to vote, generally to minimize to whatever degree possible a person's exposure to danger during declared states of emergency, and to protect the integrity of the electoral process, it is hereby found and declared to be necessary to designate a procedure for the emergency suspension or delay and rescheduling of elections.

101.732 Definitions relating to Elections Emergency Act.--As used in ss. 101.731-101.74:
(3) "Emergency" means any occurrence, or threat thereof, whether accidental, natural, or caused by human beings, in war or in peace, that results or may result in substantial injury or harm to the population or substantial damage to or loss of property to the extent it will prohibit an election officer's ability to conduct a safe and orderly election.

What we should also be very worried about is the video in which Obama tells a meeting of ACORN workers that once elected, he will let ACORN shape his agenda for America.
If the mainstream media had any integrity or professionalism whatsoever, this video would have been all over the news since Obama has repeatedly said that he has nothing to do with ACORN. The man is a brazen liar and he knows that the liberal MSM has given him a free pass to lie through his stinking socialist teeth.

I would vote early, but the lines in Pinellas are way too long. By the time I get off of work and stand in that line, the polls will be closed.

I read suspend or delay... I don't see extend hours...
101.733
(1) The Governor may, upon issuance of an executive order declaring a state of emergency or impending emergency, suspend or delay any election.

3:27 -- If he got it right the first time when the bill was up for vote and Dan Geber warned this would happen it.
He wouldn't have been "damned"
If he got it right before voting started
He wouldn't have been "damned"
If he never came out against it and said it would be illegal to extend the hours.
He wouldn't have been "damned"
But since he didn't get it right until after he got it wrong many times and then said it would be illegal. He gets "damned" twice (or more if your paying attention).

3:43 - so long as you are IN line before 6 you can vote.
Posted by: | October 28, 2008 at 04:01 PM
Charlie Crist is in on this I think. He is another corrupt Democrat that needs to be voted out of office! Charlie Crist and Obama are trying to STEAL this election with early voting.
Posted by: Early voting = Obama attempt to steal election | October 28, 2008 at 04:02 PM
4:02 -- More people voting always equals stealing an election. And Charlie Crist was in on it from the beginning when he didn't extend the hours for the first week of early voting. That's the ticket.
Sacrasm aside, at least you got one thing right -- Charlie Crist needs to go.
