Hasner, Bogdanoff go after Obama on Israel
Maybe Jesse Jackson really is trying to cut off Barack Obama's n_ts.
Jackson handed Republicans their latest attack by saying that Israel's influence will wane if Obama is elected. Although "Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades" will remain strong, they'll lose a great deal of their clout, Jackson told the New York Post.
"This is one more example of why Jewish voters in larger numbers than ever are going to be voting for Sen. McCain on Election Day," State Rep. Adam Hasner, R-Delray Beach, said in a conference call.
Fort Lauderdale Rep. Ellyn Bogdanoff said that when a candidate does not have a track record on Israel, "and Sen. Obama does not, you have to ultimately judge how they are going to behave by the people that they are surrounded by and the comments that are made by their key supporters."
It's a stretch to call Jackson a key supporter, and Obama's campaign points to plenty of support for Israel. But the Democrat has clearly been damaged among some Jewish voters in Florida. It's what caused comedian Sarah Silverman's to launch the "Great Schlep."
*

Ellyn, you know Jackson isn't a "key supporter" of Obama any more than Gov. Palin's Jews for Jesus pastor is a key supporter of McCain's.
Let's just try to get through the next 3 weeks with our dignity intact.

The sanctimonious tone of the previous poster is very Gelber-like.
Poor Barack Obama, through no fault of his own, he seems to attract the worst supporters. Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, Jesse Jackson, Louis Farrakhan. If you ask Barack, he'll tell you he has nothing in common with these people, yet they still cling to him and support him and prop him up. Talk about bad luck!

Poor John McSenile, through no fault of his own, he seems to attract the worst supporters. Republicans, terrorists, milfwannabes. If you ask Lil' Johnny Napoleon, he'll tell you he has nothing in common with these people, yet they still cling to him and support him and prop him up... even though he keeps p-ing himself.
Talk about bad luck!

"John McSenile" "gulpity gulp" "p-ing himself"
I sure feel secure in the knowledge that posters like these are the people who will be running the country for the next couple of years at least.
The sad thing is that the folks who post the liberal garbage are the ones who are going to be hurt most by Barack Obama and his policies. They're like sheep being led to the slaughter by a master of their own choosing.
Let's see if gulpity gulp and his ilk can even afford a computer or internet service in four years to post his rantings.

Ellen B., your statement might make sense if Jesse Jackson actually had anything to do with the Obama campaign.

Dear Comrades:
The contrast between, on the one hand, the huge amount of material about Obama’s radical associations that has been published in on-line journals and in a few brave newspapers, and on the other the refusal by big media to address it and to vilify those who do, becomes more astounding by the day. The Obamaniacs are spinning the relationship between Obama and William Ayers, former of Weather Undergound Terrorism Inc, as of no consequence because this was supposedly a chance acquaintance and because the educational project they worked on, the Annenberg Challenge, was a worthy one.
Stanley Kurtz now nails that canard by showing how, through the Annenberg Challenge, Obama and Ayers channelled funds to extremist anti-American Afrocentric ‘educational’ programmes which were a carbon-copy of the world view of Pastor Jeremiah Wright, Obama’s black racist mentor who, under pressure, Obama was forced to repudiate. These programmes promoted, amongst other radical ideas, the ‘rites of passage’ philosophy which attempted to create a ‘virtually separate and intensely anti-American black social world’ in order to ‘counter the potentially detrimental effects of a Eurocentrically oriented society.’ One such teacher taught that
‘The submission to Western civilization and its most outstanding offspring, American civilization, is, in reality, surrender to white supremacy.’
Kurtz concludes:
However he may seek to deny it, all evidence points to the fact that, from his position as board chair of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, Barack Obama knowingly and persistently funded an educational project that shared the extremist and anti-American philosophy of Jeremiah Wright.
No surprise there, since back in June Kurtz pointed to evidence that Obama shared the black racism of the Trinity United Church of Christ. In this article Obama was reported as rejecting ‘integrationist assimilation’ and wanting to channel black rage more effectively into political organisation. Kurtz dug out a chapter in a 1990 book called After Alinsky: Community Organizing in Illinois in which Obama sketched out how radical black churches could be harnessed to help radicalise the black population. As Kurtz wrote:
So it would appear that Obama’s own writings solve the mystery of why he stayed at Trinity for 20 years. Obama’s long-held and decidedly audacious hope has been to spread Wright’s radical spirit by linking it to a viable, left-leaning political program, with Obama himself at the center. The revolutionizing power of a politically awakened black church is not some side issue, or merely a personal matter, but has been the signature theme of Obama’s grand political strategy.
Those few brave souls who do try to enlighten the public about all this come up against the kind of intimidation by Camp Obama charted here by Michael Barone:
Stanley Kurtz appeared on Milt Rosenberg's WGN radio program in Chicago. Mr. Kurtz had been researching Mr. Obama's relationship with unrepentant Weather Underground terrorist William Ayers in Chicago Annenberg Challenge papers in the Richard J. Daley Library in Chicago - papers that were closed off to him for some days, apparently at the behest of Obama supporters. Obama fans jammed WGN's phone lines and sent in hundreds of protest e-mails. The message was clear to anyone who would follow Mr. Rosenberg's example. We will make trouble for you if you let anyone make the case against The One.
Other Obama supporters have threatened critics with criminal prosecution. In September, St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch and St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce warned citizens that they would bring criminal libel prosecutions against anyone who made statements against Mr. Obama that were ‘false.’ I had been under the impression that the Alien and Sedition Acts had gone out of existence in 1801-'02. Not so, apparently, in metropolitan St. Louis. Similarly, the Obama campaign called for a criminal investigation of the American Issues Project when it ran ads highlighting Mr. Obama's ties to Mr. Ayers.
No such threats, of course, will be made against this new book whose publication is tactfully timed for next year so as not to frighten the horses -- Race Course Against White Supremacy, by none other than William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.
Meanwhile, it turns out that not only did Obama do favours for convicted Chicago fraudster Tony Rezko, but as this story reports Alexi Giannoulias, who reputedly bankrolled Michael ‘Jaws’ Giorango, a Chicagoan twice convicted of bookmaking and promoting prostitution, became Illinois state treasurer last year after Obama vouched for him, and has now has pledged to raise $100,000 for Obama’s campaign.
You have to pinch yourself – a Marxisant radical who all his life has been mentored by, sat at the feet of, worshipped with, befriended, endorsed the philosophy of, funded and been in turn funded, politically promoted and supported by a nexus comprising black power anti-white racists, Jew-haters, revolutionary Marxists, unrepentant former terrorists and Chicago mobsters, is on the verge of becoming President of the United States. And apparently it’s considered impolite to say so.

Ellyn is correct. Jackson is much closer to Obama than his campaign wants us to believe.

These two republican legislators are out there trying to get some jewish votes for Mccain and they will. They will get about 20% of the jewish vote like Bush got. Jews are overwhelmingly Democratic. I know here in the Broward county condos Obama is getting broad and enthusiastic support from Jewish voters.

For the life of me, I have never been able to understand WHY we give so much money and military support to Israel.
Their military is one of the finest in the world, and we can't even get our country's bridges repaired.
I am part Jewish, so don't start with the anti-semite stuff, already.
It's time we spend some money on this country, as least the parts that haven't already BEEN SOLD TO FOREIGN INTERESTS........I want the United States to become the shining beacon of HOPE it once was!!
Wouldn't it be great to see cars, and other goods MADE IN AMERICA??????
Let's get it together, brothers and sisters. United we STAND divided we FALL!!!
Power to the Peaceful~

To Comrade at 4:53 Look right under your nose, and you will see that YOU were part of the problem in this country for the past eight years.
YOU VOTED FOR BUSH TWICE, AND HE KICKED OUR COUNTRY'S BUTT. WE're down, but we're not out........not yet.
With the country in crisis, we need to unite IN ORDER TO PROSPER ONCE AGAIN.
This in NOT a Homecoming Football Game, your team isn't the BEST EVAH.............GROW UP, and take responsibility for your TOXIC HATRED.
Then humble yourself, if you can, and see that there is work to be done....within ourselves, and through out this once and future GREAT, GREAT NATION.
May God Bless...Power to the Peaceful~~

My Jewish friends, Shalom.
I urge you all to beware of this Muslim named Barack HUSSEIN Obama.
He has sided with our known enemies Palestine and Iran on numerous occasions. Please BEWARE for he will help them to wipe our homeland off the face of the map.
Thank you

First, let me please put my identity before you. I am African American and Republican, so no I am not supporting Senator Obama.
I must say this on behalf of Senator Obama, Jessie Jackson has a helluva lot of room to talk. For years he has been an opportunistic loud mouth. Parading around as a represenative for African Americans when it suited his PERSONAL cause. For anyone to give this charleton air time or recognition, is so far removed from reality, I will pray for you. The wisest thing for Senator Obama, to have done was distance himself, and that, he did, from the likes of Jessie Jackson and Jessie cannot stand it!
Apparently, Senator Obama has seen the divisiveness Jackson has caused and wants NO part of it. To that, I applaud him. So when Jackson speaks, it is for Jackson, the self serving so- called Reverend he calls himself. If it is anyone that should be nutured as he (Jackson) said, it should be him! That comment came after Senator Obama spoke forcefully about the raging epidemic of African American males fathering illegitimate kids and NOT taking care of them. I guess Jessie felt he (Obama) was talking about him. After all he did father a child out of wedlock, yet he finds it is within reason to speak ill of someone else. Jackson chooses to tear down a man of color that our impressionable young (African American) men and women can emulate.

I wonder if the McCain camapign knows that Bogdanoff is a very shady characther? She should have charged for usng her legislative office for her personal use and business gain. She was a lobbyist and continued to be a lobbyist behind the scenes when she was elected. She really should be investigated. But her party is in charge and they never do anything when one of their own is caught doing wrong. If the media looked into it they would find that the corruption goes on and no one gets charged.

Gee 8:16, what you wrote reads an awful lot like libelous language to me, clearly in violation of the St. Petersburg Times Comment Policy, which you can read at left. If I were you, I would hope that the monitor of this blog deleted your malacious and false accusation before it caused you or this news site any legal problems.

Here's an Associated Press account of the controversy:
-----
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's campaign sharply rejected on Wednesday a conservative columnist's report that civil rights leader Jesse Jackson expects Obama to reduce Israel's clout at the White House.
Jackson himself denounced New York Post columnist Amir Taheri for "selectively imposing his own point of view and distorting mine" in the column that appeared Tuesday.
The column said Jackson predicted to a policy forum in France last week that "decades of putting Israel's interests first" would end and added in an interview that Zionists would lose a great deal of their clout if Obama is elected.
Obama's national security spokeswoman Wendy Morigi said the column presented "vague quotes - recorded by a columnist it (the campaign) considers hostile in a tabloid newspaper it considers biased against them - from an interview with a man last publicly seen threatening to castrate Sen. Obama."
In July, Jackson apologized for a crude off-air remark he made about Obama in what he thought was a private conversation during a break in taping for a Fox News show. Jackson was reported by Fox to have been saying the Obama appeared to be talking down to blacks in remarks about parental responsibility.
Morigi said Jackson does not advise Obama and is "in no position to interpret or share Barack Obama's views on Israel and foreign policy."
"Barack Obama has a fundamental commitment to a strong U.S.-Israel relationship," Morigi said. "As president, he will ensure that Israel can defend itself from every threat it faces, stand with Israel in his quest for a secure peace with its neighbors, and use all elements of American power to end Iran's illicit nuclear program."
In a separate written statement, Jackson said the column was slanted "to incite fear and division."
"I stand forthrightly for the security and stability of Israel, its protection from any form of hostility and a peaceful, nonviolent resolution to coexisting with its Palestinian neighbors," Jackson said. The statement added that he "has never had a conversation with Sen. Obama about Israel or the Middle East."
---
Let me repeat the closing line of the AP story: Jackson admitted he "has NEVER had a conversation with Sen. Obama about Israel or the Middle East."
