Hernando voters furious with attack on Obama
An advertising circular appearing in 70,000 Hernando County mailboxes features a controversial advertisement simulating a conversation between Osama Bin Laden and three apparent terrorists saying to wait for Obama to take office before attacking next. A McCain-Palin logo appears underneath.
The half-page ad, which appeared in Spring Hill-based the Scene Magazine, is paid for by Concerned Citizens for America. The group does not appear to be registered as a Florida political committee.
A number of Hernando residents are peeved. "I'm from New York and I'm really offended," said Dawn LaDuca, an Obama supporter. "My nephew ran out of those towers. It really pisses me off."
Pat LaGrassa, an independent voter supporting Obama, called the magazine and the U.S. Postal Service to ask that it never get delivered to her mailbox again. Representatives at both said they couldn't do anything about it.
"I told him this is the most disgusting ad I've seen in my life," she said. This is going into homes where there are children seeing this. It's a bunch of garbage."

This crap is getting ridiculous. McCain/Palin please tell your stupid trolls to go back in their caves. It's too late. This election is over.

McCain gets the Racist voters and the vote of hate. Which is why McSame is going to lose.

Read the fine print.
It didn't come from the McCain campaign, the RNC, or the FL GOP.
Joe Biden himself referred to McCain and wearing a certain undergarment.
Joe Biden also has warned that we'll be attacked if Obama is elected within 6 months.
Joe Biden has also said that Obama isn't ready to lead.
McCain will win this election.

While, if you were going to appeal to raw naked racism anywhere...?
The city of Brooksville took its name to honor a South Carolina congressman who caned an abolitionist senator into 2 years of recovery and did his honor-worthy attack right in the Senate Chamber.
The KKK state headquarter used to be Brooksville--maybe still is? At least the KKK hasn't marched in Brooksville's streets for a decade or so.
Worse--if you are looking for a contemporary indicator, Ginny Brown-Waite is their congresswoman, spouting about how Puerto Rican soldiers in Iraq can't be real Americans.
That county's not necessarily the focal point of enlightened social thinking hereinabouts.

Coming from the Republicans, this does not suprise me. On top of that, they are losing, they know it and they will do and say anything to win. The american people are tired of this crap, why don't the Republicans get that?
Posted by: | October 31, 2008 at 12:38 PM
This ad is perfectly reasonable. Obama and Osama are almost the same person anyway.
Posted by: | October 31, 2008 at 12:39 PM
Wow, the desperation from the GOP is becoming pathetic.
Posted by: | October 31, 2008 at 12:51 PM
This ad is disgusting, and will only appeal to any remaining low-information voters who have been living under a rock since 2004. If all the McCain camp has left is to play the booga-booga card, even they know they're toast.
Remember, this kind of hateful crap never helped Rudy "Noun/Verb/9-11" Giuliani. Why would it help this pathetic ticket?

Mccain/Palin have NOTHING, this will be a LANDSLIDE.
Mccain/Palin and the RNC have incited HATE, FEAR, RACISM and Division in this country and it's disgusting.
McCain will now be known forever as a DISHONARABLE man
He will not have time to change his reputation, notice no one is talking about him being a war hero anymore, he will go down as a LOSER, a NASTY, DISGUSTING person who tried to do anything and say anything to win an election.

You Obamanites think that every add that is printed comes from the candidate but read again - Concerned Citizens for America. The add is right on the money though-Obama will not protect this country-He'll sit down and try to make nice with them while they plan to hit us next-I hope we can all run fast enough Dawn LaDuca. Funny Obama supporters try to point to this when his own Spiritual Advisor, Rev. Wright hates the USA:
calls it the US of KKKA and
"GD America",
"the chickens have come home to roost"
the very next Sunday after 9/11, and
said that "Hillary ain't never been called a N'er".
He talked about Bill "ridin' dirty" and animated it. All of this FROM the pulpit.
Obama's OWN Pastor is racist, Obama sat in the pews for 20 years, and baptized/married his family.

PURGE: SKEPTICAL REPORTERS TOSSED OFF OBAMA PLANE
Comrades! Is this not Glorious news for the correct manner of STATE news reporting! No longer will you have to think your way through differing unapproved points of view! Great Leader Obama has learned the example of Loyal Comrade and Friend of the Peoples Hugo Chavez! Great Leader Obama shall ease your mind by insuring that only the ‘correct’ news is reported! Great Leader will require that the precious commodity of Freedom of the Press is rationed justly! Rejoice! It is the New Day of the New Way of social justice and economic equitability! Be informed, the Party Media WILL only serve the Glorious Vision of Hope and Change of Great Leader or they will be Crushed like all independent thinking enemies of the STATE! See the Proper way to serve the Great Leader as exampled by the tingle in the pants of Loyal Comrade Operative Chris Matthews:
“I thought it was Hollywood. It was romance. It was realism. The technical quality of it, the production values were perfect, the way they timed going to live, the biographical material. But most important, the connection with the average person in the economic turmoil we face right now I thought was fabulous. Of course, there we see the setting, which is very much like an Oval Office setting, showing that he’s comfortable and we should be comfortable and will be with him in such a setting. I thought everything was just right.”
Comrades, this is the correct way to show affection and tingling in your pants for Great Leader Obama! Rejoice in the coming, impending, mandated One View Party Media!

I voted for McCain in the primaries in 2000. McCain was a statesman. A politician from a bygone era that put our institutions and traditions above just winning or loosing.
But that man, and the man currently running are completely different people.
Sensationalized attacks during an election are nothing new. One only has to remember the current Republican Senator of Georgia's commercial that horrendously morphed a photo of a Disabled Vietnam Vet into Bin Laden to know that this has been going on for a while now.
But for a Presidential ticket to go to the extremes that McCain/Palin have gone to is ground-breaking. We have Gov. Palin claiming a nominee for President "pals around with terrorists." And McCain approving of mail pieces saying that Obama just "thinks terrorist just need a good talking to." Is it any wonder why a few deranged and desperate Republican's feel empowered to run ads like this?
To deny that McCain/Palin have some part in these because they didn't pay for them is like screaming fire in a theater and then being surprised leave.
But the numbers of these attacks seem to be growing
Now this attack itself didn't come from

The Republican has branded itself to every American under 35 as:
• Ideologically rigid,
• Incompetent at governing, and now
• Incorrigibly racist.
And that is why they have made enemies of an entire generation of Americans, which Obama is winning by more than 40 points.

Youth are voting for Obama for many reasons. But one thing I remember from my youth and see in my children and their friends (most of who are voting Obama) is a tendency to believe what people tell you - you take them at face value.
Many of us that have been around a while recognize BS better. Obama makes nice sounding promises: save the middle class, create 'green' jobs, reduce taxes on everyone but the wealthy, free wonderful health care for all.
Listent to Jimmy Carter's speaches, he promised the same things - his big thing was to get rid of partisan bickering and bring change to Washington. Sound familiar. Didn't happen. Still hasn't happened.
Actually, Bush said similar things, so did Clinton. I really don't know what McCain is saying.
Politics has been ugly as long as I have been voting, and what I've read about presidential elections throughout history (admittedly limited) indicates that this is nothing compared to some of the nonsense done in the past.
Same crap different toilet.

I heard to be a member of the GOP a white hood is standard issue. To me they are just racist, intolerant, warmongering, sexist, hypocritical bigots.
In fact the last good president they had was Lincoln.
Someone said this is the US of KKKA. It's a very strong possibility he was referring to the GOP.
Have you seen the RNC convention?

To the Jewish community, I ask you to remember that which your elders asked you to remember and never forget! My mother took care of many in NE Ohio, near the Beechwood - University Circle. These elders still had the numbers from the Nazi death camps on their arms! They told me their stories and asked me to promise to remember their story and remind others of their story so that it might never happen again! The Nazi's spread their lies and hid their hate and contempt for the Jewish community from the rest of the world! Under Hitler they started out with nasty remarks about the Jews, they Finally ended up killing millions while still using their propaganda machine to deny and hide the truth from the rest of the world! My Uncle gave his life in that war to save the lives of your ancestors, for that I am very proud, what he did was for all the right reasons. Fast forward to today! This election cycle has shown the emergence of another propaganda machine! One that will not let up in their lies in order to get the prize they want most! They have accused Barack Obama of things that they know are lies and have done so while knowing how very dangerous it could be for anyone accused of such things within our country! This is a US Senator who was elected into the Senate well after 2001! Don't you think that every Senator is checked out completely before they are allowed near any government business! I would bet my last dollar they all have been checked out! Now think about the propaganda machine I talked about! The newest propaganda machine is in fact the McCain campaign and the far right wingnuts, they are not doing this because they believe what they accuse Obama of! They only do this for their own gain! I believe in Senator Obama, I trust him and I would do all I can to help him get elected! Senator Obama is a good man, he is here for us, not himself! He knows that Americans need him now and he wants to help all Americans, not just the Democrats but the republicans and all political preferences as well! I am here to keep my promise to your elders, many of whom you might not remember. I have had compassion for them as my elders did also. I can only ask you to trust me in what I tell you, the rest is up to you. You know your elders story, I only ask you to think about it! Compare the anger of the Nazi's with the anger you see.today. I hope you think about this and make the decision that is right for you and the rest of America. Americans need the Jewish community to stand together with us, the supporters of Barack Obama. Thank you.

This flyer is simply demonstrating how desperate McCain-Palin and their supporters are.
Posted by: | October 31, 2008 at 07:28 PM
Unlike a few GOP members, being tasteless and stating their views vice stating their outrage at the flyer, I'll stay on track with the article. This article and/or flyer is a perfect example of the crowds at the McCain/Palin rallies. You know they see the lines of people outside their rallies with these signs, yet they say nothing, and smile. If Sen. McCain were a real American he would denounce these Concerned Citizens for America, failure to do so means approval of their actions

This is why McCain lost the election, his supporters are monsters
Posted by: Bill the Baker | October 31, 2008 at 09:54 PM
This is bull. the Obamanites act like McCain is a racist he is not. He has a very friendly policy toward immigrants especially hispanics. A majority of the blacks in this country are simply pitiful, they have complained complained complained they don't get enough. How much more can we give them. Well the democrats seemed to of allowed them to get home loans from Fannie May and Freddie Mac that they couldn't afford in the first place, that led to the economies collapse not the war in Iraq. The Obama supporters have shown there ignorance George W. Bush is not McCain if you haven't noticed. Then you think Obama is more qualified, that's a load of bull, McCain has spent more time as a POW than Obama has spent working for the government. I despise how you people call him intelligent. ARE YOU DEAF. does this sound familiar "I am running for the black race and my white grandmother" or "I don't care about those people in Pennsylvania who hang on to there religion and guns" any intelligent humans would not say that when running for a political office. Or what about Reverend Wright, he went to a church for twenty years, gave his money to this man, and what does he preach the "U.S. introduced AIDS to kill the blacks" McCain and Palin are not the racists Obama is. And Joe Biden is the scummiest politician period. He goes where the money is. Just so you know I am a white male, the true minority in this country, I can't get into a good college A) because i am not a women and B) I am not black or ethnically diverse. Is that right I already have worked I have put in to social security and Medicare but I can't get government support cause I'm white. It's BS so is Obama Biden.
Just Vote for anyone else!!
Posted by: | October 31, 2008 at 10:30 PM
McCain Palin win, You'll See: "Joe Biden himself referred to McCain and wearing a certain undergarment."
Which, of course, is the moral equivalent of saying that Obama is plotting with Al Qaeda to launch another terrorist attack on America.
Beyond warped, truly into psychotic territory.
And it was Kerry, not Biden, who made the lame "Depends" joke, dumbass.
Posted by: Peter Principle | October 31, 2008 at 10:34 PM
Bill the Baker: "This is why McCain lost the election, his supporters are monsters."
They're not really HIS supporters, they're David Duke's supporters. He's just renting them.
Posted by: Peter Principle | October 31, 2008 at 10:37 PM
I have to admit I can't think of any reason to vote for John McCain either. I never have before. But I can think of plenty not to vote for Obama. Kiss gun rights goodbye, redistribution of wealth, Hillary in charge of health care plan, kiss Israel goodbye, kiss your Bush tax cuts goodbye - impact me and I make significantly less than $250,000, cut the military. He is full of hot air, we don't know what we are getting.
All of this aside, you have Pelosi and Reid, two of the most liberal weenies in the Congress. With Obama you will have three of the most liberal weenies in charge - No thank you! There will be no checks.
I haven't a clue about McCain either. He is a liberal to me as well, but may offset Pelosi and Reid a bit.
If I am wrong great, but I don't believe so.
