Obama easily winning surrogate war

UPDATE: Joe Lieberman returns to Boca tomorrow to hold town hall meeting on behalf of McCain-Palin. 3:30 at Chabad of Boca Raton.

Need evidence that Barack Obama has been working harder than John McCain to stir up energy and excitement in the Sunshine State? Consider the emissaries that the campaigns have dispatched for Florida campaign events over the last couple of weeks.McCain-Palin surrogates in Florida: Lt. Col. Orson Swindle, former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer and retired Air Force Col. Tom Moe participated in a three day veterans bus tour for McCain two weeks ago.

Obama-Biden surrogates (partial list): Bill Clinton; Michelle Obama and Jill Biden; former New York Mayor Ed Koch; actor Forest Whitaker; actor Cynthia Nixon; retired Air Force Maj. Gen. Scott Gration; former White House antiterrorism adviser Richard Clarke; Miami Heat basketball player Alonzo Mourning; NBA Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing; actor Tyler Perry; Bronx borough president Adolfo Carrion; Grammy winner Olga Tanon.

Today and Monday Jay-Z and Wyclef Jean will hold "Last Chance for Change" concerts in Miami for Obama to push people to register to vote by Monday's deadline, while the McCain campaign sends its biggest gun — Sarah Palin — for a two-day campaign swing starting in Clearwater Monday. Joe Biden returns to FL Wed.

I will be attending the Jay-z concert to protest having a known batterer perform in the name of Obama along with some members of the Miami Women's Fund.

I wish obama would quit smoking. His lips looked purple yesterday.

celebrities endorsing a candidate make me NOT want to support a candidate. I think these are great entertainers but give me a break, they are just as out of touch on the economy as obama claims McCain is? Do Jay-z, Alanzo Mourning and Cynthia Nixon feel my pain at the pump?

I want to hear Alonzo Mourning stand up in front of that crowd and say Hi, I am Alonzo Mourning, I support Barack Obama and I want to pay $1 million more in taxes to help you peons out there in this crowd. Absent that this is smoke and mirrors stupidity that every CPA and tax attorney is salavating over.

Anyone who votes for a candidate because a celebrity endorses him is too irresponsible to vote. Great role models, BTW, in terms of conspicuous consumption, Gangster lyrics and lifestyles, family values, etc.

BTW and speaking of role models-- Obama, the penultimate role model for black youth-- is a pack-a-day closet smoker. Perhaps he'd rather they be killed by cancer instead of one another. He also used cocaine "as a wayward youth" but SAYS he quit (just like the cigs on several occasions...).

Role models abound if you're a Dem and if you want the country to go to Hell in a handbasket, huh?

Why doesn't the SPT just carry a banner on the front page every day that says "vote for Obama"? I have never seen such media pushing for one candidate in all my life. What a world.

Jackie Kennedy was also a smoker. I had no idea that a legal vice could preclude one from being a role model. I guess no one is a role model by those standards.

Claire McCaskill is a crazy old woman.

Sen. John McCain enjoys overwhelming support from the military’s professional core, though race appears to be a decisive factor for career-oriented black service members, a Military Times survey of nearly 4,300 readers indicates.

McCain, R-Ariz., handily defeated Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., 68 percent to 23 percent in a voluntary survey of 4,293 active-duty, National Guard and reserve subscribers and former subscribers to Army Times, Navy Times, Marine Corps Times and Air Force Times.

Obama friend, Ayers, and the article that started it all:

NY Times 09/11/01

No Regrets for a Love Of Explosives;

In a Memoir of Sorts, a War Protester Talks of Life With the Weathermen

By DINITIA SMITH

''I don't regret setting bombs,'' Bill Ayers said. ''I feel we didn't do enough.'' Mr. Ayers, who spent the 1970's as a fugitive in the Weather Underground, was sitting in the kitchen of his big turn-of-the-19th-century stone house in the Hyde Park district of Chicago.

The long curly locks in his Wanted poster are shorn, though he wears earrings. He still has tattooed on his neck the rainbow-and-lightning Weathermen logo that appeared on letters taking responsibility for bombings. And he still has the ebullient, ingratiating manner, the apparently intense interest in other people, that made him a charismatic figure in the radical student movement.

Rapper Jay-Z (real name: Shawn Carter) pleaded guilty yesterday in a New York court to stabbing producer Lance "Un" Rivera.

Looks like Obama (Post Turtle) has real problems. He's being targeted by the Chinese.

I think a lot of you folks are pissed that Mr. Obama is winning in most polls and will likely be your next president. I am an African American and tired of looking that the blogs about lies and distortion. Vote for who you are going to vote for and stop demonizing the person who you are not voting for. November 5, 2008 cannot come soon enough. Just like you, Celebrities have the right to support whom ever they please. If you do not like the content of the newspaper, start your own!

Obama supports open borders with Mexico!!!

DOES ANY OF THIS B.S. HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH ME PAYING MY BILLS OR GETTING GOOD HEALTH CARE??? Those are the reasons I am voting Obama. I dont really care about who he knew and what they did 39 YEARS AGO!

OK Team; this economic meltdown is really helping our cause. I mean, who could have asked for anything better? Basically we hit the trifecta:

Record Bank Failures
401k Meltdown
Massive Layoffs

All we need now is a couple major troop losses and we will sweep right into the White House for sure.

It's a great time to be a Democrat!

Hey getwiththetimes:

To help with "PAYING MY BILLS OR GETTING GOOD HEALTH CARE"

Try this:

Get a job. It works every time it is tried!

J Williams; yes you have a valid point.

However, in the past our choice for president was between a traditional democrat and republican.

This election is between a tried and true leftist and a RINO.

I do not want Obama to win because:

ZERO Executive Experience
Rev Wright
Bill Ayres
ACORN
CAC
Rezko
and more....

A look into his history with any one of these individuals and groups would be enough to sink any candidate. However, as Hillary learned, the cheerleading press is not going to investigate.

If Obama wins, and with Pelosi and Reid running Congress; we will have at least 2 years of the most leftist administration ever.

The last thing we need now is further expansion of the Federal Government.

Zappa-
The country is already IN hell in a handbasket. Where have you been? The Repubs have done a great job in sending us there.
