Palin power in Tampa
TAMPA - More than 5,000 people are at the Tampa Convention Center this morning awaiting Sarah Palin's entrance. That's nearly twice as many as John McCain attracted to the same venue. Mingle among the crowd dotted with "They will know we are Christian by our vote" signs and "Joe to Plumber" and pink "Palin Power" T-shirts, and you don't find folks putting much stock in the polls showing grim numbers for McCain-Palin. Many of those polls show Palin has been a drag on the McCain ticket, especially with independent voters, but here Palin Power reigns.
"She's brought back the old feeling of of the Republican party that we've lost over the last four to six years,'' said Bill Fritz, a 69-year-old flag salesman from Plant City.
"If you want to believe the polls, that's fine but we've got a long way to...This is the first election I've ever gotten excited about. This is the first rally I've ever attended, and this is the first election where I've sent in a contribution," said Clay Mueller, a 67-year-old sales representative from Bradenton. "Palin brought more life to the campaign, and really kicked it in the butt."
But his wife, Betty Lou Mueller, remains undecided. She finds Palin appealing, but opposes making abortion illegal and prefers Barack Obama's emphasis on expanding health care. "I'm surrounded by all these Republicans who convinced me to vote for Bush, and I've regretted it ever since,'' said Mrs. Mueller, 66. "I'm definitely not going to be an early voting. I'm waiting until the last minute, hoping for a lightning strike to help me decide."

What about this:

Thats because there was a call out from the R party to have people at Palins arrival. They came from all over because perception means everything. Think of the thousands that did not come. She may be folksie, but she is clearly not capable of leading this country. Bad bad pick and they now wnat to convince us she is something she is not. Can't happen. This so-called conservative went out and spent $150,000 of the RNC's contributions at a time when most people are losing their homes. That is just bad judgement. Not the kind of judgement that we need in a leader. There has been continued bad judgement and they don't seem to learn from their mistakes. McCain just said Palins family is not wealthy. Well she makes a Governors salary and what has she been wearing all along as Governor? Why the sudden re-make? I could understand a few thousand but $150,000? Not accepatble. Then they say the clothes will be donated to charities. So the lady who has no home and lives in her car or in a shelter will benefit from wearing some Gucci? Ridiclous. Just a real stupid thing to do. Shows they have poor judgement. Edwards got bashed for his $400.00 haircut, rightfully so. But he spent his own money on it. They took poor Joe the plumbers donation and went shopping at the most expensive stores. Yea, thats what Joe the plumber needs, for them to spend his money so unwisely. Palin is a drag on McCain, he is not doing so well on his own, sure did not need her. The R party can keep repeating theat Palin has energized their base, but they fail to tell you how many of their base are not happy.

DO they have to leave their hoods at the door?
As a Christian I am embarrassed for Sara.
The bible does not preach hate and divide us under the name of God.
I am concerned that her young daughters have to listen to her speeches and are not in school.

a Sunday morning gathering of the sad little people
Posted by: | October 26, 2008 at 12:07 PM
This is just another gathering of the selfish and self-absorbed "values" voters who wouldn't know true decency and Christian values if they tripped on them. How many racists and haters will show up today?
Posted by: | October 26, 2008 at 12:09 PM
The commies sure do FEAR Sarah Palin!!
Go Sarah!
Posted by: | October 26, 2008 at 12:25 PM
Sarah Palin is a lot more qualified than Barack HUSSEIN Obama to be President: She has executive experience. He doesn't. She is Commender on Chief of her State National Guard - the closest he's ever been to the military was that silly tour of Iraq where he couldn't be bothered to go see the wounded. And legislative? There is NOT ONE puiece of important legislation to Obama's name.

How do all those Christians feel about voting for an admitted adulterer (McCain) and an alleged adulteress (Palin)?
Posted by: | October 26, 2008 at 12:48 PM
This hate-filled loser is not welcome in FL. She is the complete opposite of everything I stand for.
We're in a financial crisis but she spends $150K for her wardrobe? She charges trips for her kids against the state of Alaska's budget? She's an incompetant phony.
The fools that voted for Bush haven't learned that after watching this country crumble under the WORST ADMINISTRATION EVER still support her because she's pro-life (and pro-death when it comes to killing civilians and animals). We need change now before this country collapses.
GO OBAMA!!!

The same old boring talking points from the fascist right. Yawn. Hey, why aren't all these "good" Christians in church. Why are they breaking the Sabbath? Just wondering. Oh and that baby looked really happy with all that noise. How much can one little body jerk around as it is disturbed by its less then peaceful surroundings.

Who paid for Todd and the kids to fly into Tampa? The citizens of Alaska?
Posted by: Mme. de Guerre | October 26, 2008 at 12:53 PM
These "Christians" don't even know what Jesus Christ is all about. They focus maniacally on abortion and gay male sexual behavior, neither of which were EVER discussed by Jesus. They just want to impose a "biblical" dictatorship on this nation, to be led by a bunch of tacky, ignorant evangelical mullahs operating out of Colorado Springs.
In case you Republicans wonder why the nation's voters are buying your crap this time around, just take a look at the sort of Neanderthals showing up at Palin rallies.
Posted by: | October 26, 2008 at 12:58 PM
John McCain had 5000 in Tampa at this venue what a COMPLETE farce this post is.

Palin is a winner - and she will be one for many, many years to come. Sorry, Democrats, that is your Halloween scare.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

But really, what is up with that lawsuit challenging Obama's citizenship?
Posted by: | October 26, 2008 at 01:22 PM
12:25 Ha Ha Ha Ha its so funny how you right wing whackos call anyone who differs of opinion "commies", when you are actually speaking against freedom, you know, the giuts of this country. The thing called liberty. The thing called freedom. You show your hatred for our great Constitution and your narrowmindedness. You only want those to survive who think like you do, you do not tolerate any difference. Just like Al Quaeda. There is no difference in your extremeism.
Posted by: | October 26, 2008 at 01:25 PM
Meant "guts" not giuts
Posted by: | October 26, 2008 at 01:26 PM
12:58 Not all Republicans. There are many Republicans who are not with the McCain Palin ticket and that is why Obama may win. Many Republicans have been warning of the impending crash of our party because of what the current leadership has done. Not all of us are Kool Aid drinking fools. So be careful not to throw a large net, you need us and the independents to win. Don't get cocky. The R's will probably lose because they have alienated many other R's who have worked hard to keep the party on the real Republican track. Not an authoritarian regime. Not a more government, not more taxes, not more religious extremeism.

12:26 Executive experience, which she has very little of in a very small state, does not take the place of natural smarts. She does not have that. Several terms in the US Senate or Legislature is far more experience then she has. Her 1 1/2 yrs as Governor have not been that great. Stop this nonsence about Executive experience. It is not enough for the American people and it is much more then that that makes a candidate right for the Presidency. She claerly has not won over many people simply because she is Governor of Alaska. They have been many morons who have executive experience, even far more then Palin, that no one wants as our President. She has very little expereince in judgement and smarts that come naturally. She truly is a lioght weight and no matter what you may want her to be, she is what she is. To many of us out here who wanted to vote for McCain, picking her was horrible judgement. For McCain to keep trying to shove her so-called great leadership as "having Executive experience" only makes things worse.

Tell the person who left the first comment to check his facts first before posting comments. Obama was born in Hawaii to an American mother!!
Everyone should checks the facts before voting go to FACTCHECK.ORG

2:06 Some of these extremeist don't care about the facts. To them, the end justifies the means. No matter what. Just keep posting the facts for those who might need read them That ticks these nuts off more then anything else.

The court case alluded to was rejected ONLY on the basis of standing in the court, not its merit. The case is being appealed. If this isn't an issue, why won't Obama release the information requested: certified birth record, school records or just about anything during his college years. Just how does a drug abusing kid in Occidental College wind up in those Ivy League institutions? Who paid for it? If scholarships, who was the source? He won't release his contributor's list and lied about taking public funds. Just too many questions to overlook. I don't want someone devoid of executive experience who will be learning on the job. His own running mate said he was unqualified.

Can these people not read?
Sarah Palin should learn to BLINK and THINK before making decisions. Shame on John McCain for using her. Shame on Sarah Palin for letting him. This duo has set republicans and women back years---not to mention making us the laughing stocks of the free world.

That birth announcement in the Honolulu newspaper is pretty good proof, too.

You had to have tickets to get in, it was standing room only, and the Times can say "more than" 5,000, but if they weren't so biased they'd report that the crowd numbered 10,000. Palin is in Kissimmee right now, speaking to another crowd of 10,000...so they didn't come from too far away (as was suggested), since Tampa's only a little over an hour from Kissimmee. Then she'll be at a rally in Asheville tonight with McCain, who's been campaigning in Ohio all day.

Poor John and Sarah! They must feel like hunted animals, trudging through the snow, being chased by a helicopter.... wait...I think I've seen this somewhere!
Her lipstick shade, Palin Pink, will cover-up everything.
Pipeline, bridge, ebay, pay cut, troopergate, understanding a VP's job,$150,000 in clothing, speaking without a script, medical records released...What a Maverick. Dick Cheney in a skirt?

3:55 Its the same crowd. They were summoned. Anyone can bring out a few thousand. Whats the current population of Florida right now? 15 million? Dont take a large crowd to mean that McCain or Obama wins. That means nothing.

Please do your research on what happens when raising taxes on businesses. Loss of jobs, cost of goods and services increase. The $500-$1000 you will pay less in taxes, will be more than made up in the increase you pay for everyday things. And maybe even the loss of your job!!!

Lincoln is surly spinning in his grave. The wife of a member of a secessionist party (AIP) who herself address their convention this summer, running as a Republican. Lincoln, you may recall, had some difficulty with the secessionist party in South Carolina and I believe some sort of conflict ensued. Turn out the lights; the Party's over.
They are lighting the funeral pyre for the rotting corpse of what was once the Party of Lincoln.

Obama drew more than 100,000 at a rally in Denver today.
That certainly is an awful lot of "communists" for an event.
You little repiggies call anyone a "communist" that actually thinks and uses their brains, rather than accept talking points from the Bush/Cheney cabal of crooks.

Palin - "I was against the bridge to nowhere" (after you voted for it and then kept the Feds money after it was shot down)
Palin - "I was never in favor of Alaska seceeding from the USA" (But your husband was a key player in that nonsense)
Palin - "I don't see why my medical records are relevant" (Because they'll prove you've only had 4 kids and you're lying to the world about the 5th "special needs baby because she's actually your teenage daughter's baby)
Why did your daughter take a 5 month break from school with "mono" and at the same EXACT time period you were on fake "maternity leave"??
