Bush is the greatest President that has ever stepped into the Oval Office.

1.)Our economy is stronger than ever in the past eight years.
2.) Our budget is balanced
3.) The world has our respect
4.) Only 5000 of our troops are dead. Only 20,000 severely wounded. Only 100,000 Iraqi civilians dead. Pretty good numbers in my book.
5.) Gas is cheap.
6.) Home ownership is great

What more do you want? Change? I say four more years!!

McCain/Palin!!

Palin will give inspiration to millions when she becomes VP. Millions of average hockey moms and Joe Six Packs will be inspired to run for office. If an average person with minimal intelligence like Sarah Palin can make it this far, guys like my plumber will have aspirations of the Oval Office.

We love you Sarah

No Hooters girls should be allowed to be one heartbeat away from running this whole country.

Down with McSame/Phailin'

What the hell was Palin winking at last night? Is it just me or was that weird? Why is the media praising her for going 90 minutes without giving a substantive and/or coherent answer to any of the questions that were asked? Is it just me or should the people who want to run the country have to answer questions about the most important issues of the day? Why are there so many positive news stories about her when she has the highest negatives of any of the candidates?

This thing is about to turn in a major way. Sarah did just fine last night and set the stage for a strong closing run by McCain.

No October surprise needed, we already know enough about Barack. McCain just needs to use it now and not give Obama time to recover.

Pretty deep thinkers on this blog. I am still looking for those positive news stories 8:48.

I think some people realize Obama hasn't answered andy substantive questions either - just a wish list that few could argue with.

People support Obama for no less ridiculous notions than people support McCain. Criticize her if you want - all four are prizes, but look at your own candidate for president.

Actually, I like Biden, I would have voted for him years ago, but he got a little carried away with some comments and was pressured to withdraw. Granted I am won't for a Democrat now, but back then I would have.

Gator,

Obama hasn't answered substantive questions??? Are you kidding me??! He's been running for president for a year, does interviews with press every day and has done like twenty something debates. If you don't know his positions by now, you're not listening.

I'd love to see who is running to see this woman, other than religious wingnuts. My neighbor says alot of the audience is church organized and driven there. How else to explain the "enthusiam" for Sarah. Her "debate" performance was scripted and wooden. Did you hear her today in that Fox interview. Back to total clueless. No thought whatsoever.

She was winking at her mother and father who were sitting in the front row...she winked when she made a reference to education and teachers...her mother was a teacher for many years.

Dear Palin/McCain: If you have to continually remind everyone you're a maverick ... you ain't one.

Palin gave plenty of substantive answers and they were TRUTHFUL! Biden is a complete moron...he speaks with authority about things who has no clue about. After 35 years in the US Senate and he still doesn't know the Constitution...no wonder he had to cheat in law school.

Bob...how can you know Obama's "position" when he has changed his position on almost every major issue. He perpetrated the greatest fraud in political history by promising to immediately end the war in Iraq and bring the troops home. That position was the driving force behind his victory over Hillary Clinton who was intelligent enough to understand that his position was dangerous. Now, he has decided immediate taking troups out is not the right thing to do...the fact is...when it comes to foreign policy he has no appreciation for the history of this country or of this country's position as the sole super power...and his positions on the economy are rooted in Socialism and will crush our economy for the next two generations. For those who aren't thrilled with McCain you have to recognized that there is NO CHOICE...we cannot turn over our country to a man who would undo all that is great about America.

Palin is the effect of this country being held to lower standards. She is the worst VP pick in history. So enjoy your Wink fest rally. "The Big move of the event" is going to be clearly a stage show. Mcbush is probably filling buses from every corner of the state to make it appear that she can draw a crowd. I’m sure just like they did in 2000, McBush will cry foul and cause a huge election mess. And sure enough Mac Stipanovich will crawl out of his hole and Disavow more votes.

Barack's positions are rooted in socialism?! Do you have any idea of what you're talking about? Do you even realize that the REPUBLICAN president of the United States just signed into law a 700 billion dollar bailout of the financial industry today? Yay!!! Free markets totally work!

Delusions on display anyone? Sarah Palin's performance last night showed that she can meet very low expectations if (a) she gets the rules changed in her favor, (b) she gets to have notes on the podium to refer to and (c) the moderator can't ask follow-up questions. But you can tell she depends too much on her charisma (such as it is) and a fake folksy persona that looks like it was bolted together in a garage.

Others have had the same reaction:

"Now, I should note that I'm not sure what the ground rules were, and have no idea whether Palin was permitted to have pre-written notes at her podium. For that matter, I can't say with any certainty whether Palin was looking down at notes she personally made during the debate, or notes that were written in advance for her by campaign aides.

But this does help explain a few things. As Kevin noted last night, "She pretty overtly didn't even pretend to address a lot of Ifill's questions -- probably because she couldn't -- and a lot of her filibustering ended up sounding like random strings of phrases from the Hockey-Mom-o-Bot 3000." It was, at times, as if Palin were just repeating lines written on a notecard, whether the responses made sense or not. If she were simply reading from a cheat-sheet, this would explain why her responses sounded detached and off-topic.

Faiz also noted this gem from Newsweek's Andrew Romano: "The problem for Mrs Palin, however, is that she often seemed to run out of talking points -- at which point her answers would devolve into the confusing 'blizzards of words.'"

A lot of newspapers had good editorials about last night's debate, and I particularly liked the New York Times:

In the end, the debate did not change the essential truth of Ms. Palin's candidacy: Mr. McCain made a wildly irresponsible choice that shattered the image he created for himself as the honest, seasoned, experienced man of principle and judgment. It was either an act of incredible cynicism or appallingly bad judgment.

And the San Francisco Chronicle:

As striking as the contrast was, it was telling that Biden - unlike McCain, in his debate with Barack Obama - never felt compelled to deride his debate opponent as inexperienced or naive or reckless.

It wasn't necessary. Americans could see the difference for themselves.

But the Los Angeles Times, in an editorial that didn't like anything about the debate, had the best single line:

Palin has every right to be considered an everywoman; no one can deny how average she is.

Second: my candidate for "post the writer is most likely to regret in the morning" is this, by Rich Lowry:

"I'm sure I'm not the only male in America who, when Palin dropped her first wink, sat up a little straighter on the couch and said, "Hey, I think she just winked at me." And her smile. By the end, when she clearly knew she was doing well, it was so sparkling it was almost mesmerizing. It sent little starbursts through the screen and ricocheting around the living rooms of America."

I'm sure I'm not the only female in America who, when Palin dropped her first wink, rolled her eyes and thought: oh, dear God. We have all seen just that wink deployed at guys like Rich Lowry. We have all watched in amazement as it actually works, despite its transparent manipulativeness. What, we all wonder, could those guys possibly be thinking? (What the winking women are thinking is usually altogether too clear.) I'm betting that for every male vote that wink picked up, it lost at least one woman.

And the US economy is likely crushed for the foreseeable future anyway due to the disasterous economic policies of the Bush administration.

There is like this strange protective mood for Palin in the media. They have to strain to say out loud what is painfully obvious, that she has no depth of knowledge, has no idea what is in our constitution, how our government works and is not qualified to be President. Biden outclassed and outsmarted her last night with ease. There was no truth in what Palin said because every fact out of her mouth was inaccurate, as fact checked today. She would have no idea as to the veracity of the talking points they fed her though. Lets face it, we deserve better than this in our leaders, and Mccain will lose big for this pick.

By Bob: "And the US economy is likely crushed for the foreseeable future anyway due to the disasterous economic policies of the Bush administration."

RIGHT... well, not really. Try the economy is in the shape it is in because of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MGT_cSi7Rs

People better wake up to the truth and realize "the change we REALLY need" is with Congress, not the presidency, or we'll all be sorry if Obama gets elected and it only gets worse.

www.sparrowgirls.com
"Liberty can not be preserved without a general knowledge among the people." John Adams

I won't be sorry when Obama is elected. I might cry with joy though. I am scared. For the first time in my life I am really scared for my future. I am scared my business might fail, I won't have a house and I'll have no insurance. I'm voting on the first day of early voting, just in case I get hit by a truck before Nov. 4th. Mccain offers no positive vision for America. If you can think of his positive vision, or plans to change things, please let me know. I haven't heard One.

It has been rumored that Tod Palins ex-business partner that Sarah Palin had an affair with, has a sex tape of one of their sex acts.

BEWARE:THE OLD MAN(AND HIS SIDEKICK SARA FAILIN)COMMETH TO TAKE YOUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN AWAY TO DIE IN A WAR!!!

Anne,

Give me a break. Republicans controlled all three branches of government for most of the last eight years. No more excuses.

Wasn't Estero founded by a bunch of religious cultist wingnuts who think the world is hollow or something like that? Not that there's any connection with Palin, of course.

You're all SO ignorant! You think Sarah Palin is just blathering but ALL THE WHILE SHE'S BEEN SPEAKING IN TONGUES!

Duh!

Look at the address! Corkscrew Road! Is the rally at the cult grounds, or right next door? No wonder she relocated. First the Scientologists, and now this! Downright scary!

http://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/13409

Its fun not answering questions, not knowing the facts, and talking like a retard. Enjoy Bush two another person that can't put sentences together. Wink Wink.

Palin admits she is not ready for being Vice President and has no idea what the VP does.

Bob: We DO know Obama's positions:

1) He wants to be President;
2) He wants to be President; and
3) He wants to be President.

When he gets there he wants to
1) "Redistribute the wealth" - that is tax people who work to support people wh don't.
2) Dump Israel so Iran and others can push them into the sea.
3) Have every America-hater over to the White House for cocktails. Without preconditions.

Gee, Mike, you sound like you're describing Barack HUSSEIN Obama.

Obama is a marxist fool. socialixm doesn't work---look at history.

bush as brought us into a socialist era -- and only his mismanagement of EVERYTHING can be blamed.

republicans want to tax, take over your mortgages, invade your bedrooms, and seal up your boarders completely.....Lincoln would be so pissed at yall.

If you look at these headlines, you would probably come to the conclusion that Barry is running for Pres. of another country. Totally unAmerican, yet people still want to vote for this guy?

5:19 IF YOU SAY THAT SOCIALISM DOESN’T WORK AND THAT’S WHAT OBAMA WANTS. THEN WHAT JUST HAPPENED YESTERDAY, AND WITH THE PATIROT ACT AND CHENEY OVER STEPPING HIS BOUNDS. I THINK IT WOULD BE BEST IF YOU REP. WOULD TRY AND STAY AWAY FROM THAT ARGUMENT FROM NOW ON

9:43 I HAVE TO AGREE WITH BILL O`RIELY WHO HAD TO SAY THIS ABOUT PALIN “ SO LET ME ASK THIS, DO YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THAT PEOPLE WOULD RATHER HAVE STYLE OVER SUBSTANACE?” SEE EVEN YOUR OWN FOX NEWS IS HAVING A HELL OF A TIME TRYING TO MUSTER UP SUPPORT FOR HER.

ALL FOX NEWS IS DOING IS A POLITICAL MOVE. THEY ARE SAYING THEY SUPPORT HER, BUT EVERY ONCE AND A WHILE THEY ALL MAKE DEROGITORY STATEMENTS ABOUT HER. SO WHEN THE CRAP HITS THE FAN THEY CAN HAVE THERE PRECIOUS SOUND BITE TO SAY….” SEE WE DIDN’T LIKE HER FROM THE BEGINNING”. PLEASE… REAL AMERICANS ARE OVER THIS TRICKERY, WHY DO YOU THINK WE DIDN’T WANT THIS BILL PAST. WE SEE THROUGH ALL THE B.S. NOW.

NOW YOU PALIN SUPPORTERS AND PALIN PUSHERS WANT TO SAY SHE IS THE AVERAGE SOCCER MOM. WELL I AM A SOCCER DAD WITH A SOCCER WIFE, WITH SOCCER FRIENDS, AND KNOW SOCCER FAMILIES. MOST OF ALL I AM THE SOCCER COACH FOR THE LAST FIVE YEARS, AND I CAN PROMISE YOU THAT WE DON’T FEEL FOR PALIN THE WAY FOX AND OTHER MEDIA OUTLETS ARE LEADING ON. NOW THE STAY AT HOME MOM, LIVING IN A MODEST 300,000 HOME WITH A MODEST NEW SUBURBAN, THAT THINKS SHE IS IN TOUCH WITH THE REAL WORLD…YA SHE MIGHT AGREE WITH PALIN. WHO ELSE IS SHE GOING TO LOOK UP TO???? PARIS HILTON????

O NO!! KING S#@T REPUBLICAN DONALD IS ON TODAY. WE MIGHT AS WELL STOP TALKING CAUSE NO ONE WILL BE RIGHT..JUST DONALD...

I don't understand what your argument is Donald? I understand you are trying to spin, but what exactly. ya, ok he was helping a fund raiser for people that where in a refugee camp?? let me say that a again A REFUGEE CAMP...what your saying is that because someone is Palestinian they don’t have the right to aid or compassion. You must be one of those types that say as long as I am doing good then the hell with everyone else. Now if I get your point your spin is kind of like saying there is homeless in down town st Pete. We should ignore them, expel them and let them die…just because they are not of your liking???? Hum….typical republican…….

palin is a joke, she can't even get the facts straight, made so many blunders in the debate thurs. night, she is not ready to lead, if something happen to mccain heaven forbid. she skirted around all of the issues. got the commanding officers names wrong, all she wanted to talk about was her state, who cares is what she is going to do about the issues of this country.joe biden could have racked her over the coals, but he didn't he did show some respect for her. biden won the debate and palin was 36% approval rate biden was 84% approval rate to be come president if any thing happened to the president. she is a good talker, i'll give her that, but she is no hillary clinton. like to see an debate between hillary and the brige to know where palin, clinton would mop the floors with her and i'm a repubican and this ticket is going no where voting the other ticket.

Yep. Florida is McCain/Palin country.

why do you hate muslims so much donald?

mccain may win florida but thanks god it doesn't matter.

president obama will restore america's greatness despite the efforts of the facist religious right and good ole boy club of the republicans

bob, please stop talking. Your breath still smells like Obama's corn hole. It offends.

SARAH PALIN ROCKED AT THE DEBATE THURSDAY. SHE CRUSHED JOE BIDEN.

"SAY IT AIN'T SO JOE"

As a Jewish American, I cannot vote for obama. Would black people vote for a president who said he would set down with the head of the KKK instead of flatly saying no, I won't meet with a terrorist?

My son in law was in Iraq. He said obama is only using the term timetable because it sounds good to the American people, but there is no way we can pull troops from the region within the next 10 years or so. He said that they were star struck by obama but they don't want him to be the president. I am not speaking for all troops, just him.

your son is a doucehbag

McCain/Palin
Obama/Biden

no matter which way we look at we all win
1. none are bush
2. none are spics

12:58 -- u do realize palin said she would put the US embassy in Jerusalem.

as a jewish american, do you hate isreal?

12:58 why wouldn’t you want him to? You must ask your self Is he doing it for the right reasons. All through history there have been many peace treaties that were done by sitting with the enemy. Eventually in all wars it must happen as well. Getting peace from fear is one thing but getting peace out of respect is another and goes a lot deeper. As a parent, and I’m sure you can agree that a spunky teen is more than a hand full and a constant battle with getting into trouble and fighting with one another. As we now know through more understanding and not just chalking this behavior to just pure adolescence, we now understand that it is more for a cry of help. Do we deny this person to speak or to convey what and why the path he has chosen is so wreak less, and also help us understand what we might do to help and achieve peace, help fix the problem or come to some sort of resolution. I would think that any rational person would consider that diplomacy is a sure fire way of mending bad feeling and bad blood. I do think that the black community would vote for a person that would talk to the KKK If they thought the person had their best intentions in mind and was trying to enrich their lives in the pursuit of a Peaceful life. I firmly believe that the black community is intelligent enough to be able to make that determination on their own. I don’t think that just because you’re not sure doesn’t mean that the black community isn’t sure. To be honest I would hope that Obama would talk to these groups (nwacp) included and try to create an understand that these people are doing nothing but maintaining a negative outlook on whites, blacks, Latino and Jews. I would hope he would tell them that from this day forward we are ONE NATION UNDER GOD INDIVISABLE WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL……well that’s the way I see it.

12:42 -- very interested in what debate you watched or if you were on your meds while watching.

she said 'puddin'' instead of 'putting' and made a clicking sound when she winked.

she'd be a great stripper if she wasn't so old

Palin is a bird brain. Is this the best we can America?

Obama `wants to talk with terrorist nations w/o pre-conditions.

Is that why terrorist-group HAMAS endorses Obama's campaign?

Barack Obama is just not ready to be a leader. Heck, he's not fit to be a U.S. Senator.

If you say Sarah is not ready to lead, then that means Obama is a lot more not ready to lead because Sarah has much more executive experience than him.

And don't give me the garbage about hope and change becuse talk is cheap.

6:43 great clip thanks. Joe was right on the money, and yes your right the saying is stupid. I mean anyone who thinks that comment was in any way, shape, fashion or form a Professional statement has really been locked in the closet to long.

i'm going there to fight these doucehbags, and i'm bringing a caravan of hooligans.

palin wants to ignite the culture war with her slanderous statements about obama being a terrorist?

so if anyone wants a piece of me, i'll be with the group of people out front. yelling profanities at you and your fellow fascists.

i don't vote -- i just fight.

gee thanks 9:00 you are not making a good point. Have you ever seen "The Longest Yard" when he said " a broken bone will heal, but a victory will last a life time". This is one battle that has to be fought with a pen or a pencil in this case.

I am truly afraid of our Nation's enemies and I don't know if obama has the fortitude to protect us. His judgement and inexperience are very dangerous. I am a democrat but I don't want to roll over like many liberals would have us do if we get attacked again.

Well, as a Fort Myers resident, I can tell you that the rally originally was set for an arena that seats 4,000 +/-.

It was moved to an arena that seats 7,000 +/- because of ticket demand.

I'll be there. I'm also not a religious wingnut. I am a concerned American who has studied Obama's ideas and comments since he began running.

I simply am not comfortable with the prospect of a President who isn't smart enough to learn when he is hanging with terrorists, letting an America-hating pastor mentor him, accepting favors from a convicted grafter and willing to take contributions from the crooks who have driven our economy to the point of desperation.

Oh, by the way, did you noticed the positions he espouses and proposes for the country are Marxist?

That's not the America I want for my children and grandchildren.
Obama is a clear and present threat to our freedom, our economic system and our way of life. Listen to his statements - "Maybe we should be more like China." for example.

If you think otherwise, you are drinking the media Kool-Aid.

Vote for this man at your and the nation's peril.
