Yes on 2 group reports vandalism, assault
The groups campaigning for the constitutional ban on gay marriage report in a letter to supporters today that their signs are being stolen in front of private homes and offices. And they say a campaign volunteer handing out fliers urging people to vote for Amendment 2 was "spit on" and "assaulted" last night at the Obama rally in Kissimmee, reported attorney John Stemberger, who runs the Yes2Marriage.org campaign.
"A Fort Lauderdale pastor reported that he and his son where placing yard signs and opponents were coming right behind him and stealing them while he was watching them. When the pastor went to approach the man, he openly mocked him and gave him the finger. The signs outside our own office headquarters have been replaced 3 times now," Stemberger wrote.

Amazing how these groups that are supposedly accepting of all viewpoints and just want us all to "get along" are the ones who get violent and hateful when people disagree with them.

yeah, sounds an awful lot like the girl who carved a "B" in her face...

Lies, all lies. I had a NO on 2 sign stolen from my front yard. Big deal.

Good, racist, discriminating redneck bigots don't deserve a sign anyway.

Political signs on both sides of every issue and candidate are being stolen and vandalized. St. Pete Times...why do you call this news? Oh I know.. same reason so many other lame stories are printed by you.

Here we go again with the name calling. "RACIST"? I guess it's perfectly acceptable to intimidate and steal from people who don't share your opinions. Nice.

Polls showing Amendment 2 will easily pass.
Last poll has it at 59% + 4% (our estimate of undecided voting YES) =63%

All the signs I've seen are still there.
This is basically a misguided effort to attempt to acquire sympathy for hate.

Yep, more hate from the Far Left.

Those who claim to be "tolerant" of all views (liberals, homosexuals, the NAACP) are usually the most intolerant. Amendment 2 passes!
Posted by: | October 30, 2008 at 08:35 PM
And you are wrong on all counts.
And hopefully wrong that the amendment will pass with 60% of the required vote.

Those who "seek tolerance" are usually quite belligerent, volatile and aggressive. So much for tolerance.
Stealing a sign isn't going to change the fact that citizens will go to the polls and READ their ballot and DECIDE how they want to vote. With or without the signs.
Amendment 2 will pass with a wide margin...my prediction.

A constitutional amendment of discrimination does not represent the entire population the constitution governs. It is however the testimony of ingorant people that have a taste for hate and fear. In a country that declares freedom and justice for all, our founding fathers would be ashamed.

I heard that two Obama supporters yesterday in Miami were almost attacked by a mob exiting the McCain rally there, too. But, I am not sure what you expect when you go to the rally of the other side just to get them upset. There aren't any converts or votes to be found there. The best you can hope for is that when someone spits on you that the press reports it. I guess these two "support amendment 2" supporters were really "lucky."

I love the comments. "Liberals" (opponents of @) are intolerant.
Exactly who has the amendment on the ballot to deny rights to people that are afforded to others? Based upon orientation?
WHO is intolerant?

Those supporting the amendment are showing more gross intolerance by voting for it.

Marriage is a covenant designed by God given to a man and a woman by God. So it is not for whoever decides they want to be married. If you want to have civil unions, contracts, etc. then go ahead and do so. But there is no validity in saying that same sex couples have the same rights as a man and a woman in marriage.
