Huckabee's back
Mike Huckabee will bring his book-signing bus tour to Tampa on Nov. 28 at 9 a.m. at Hyde Park Village. Huckabee has just released Do the Right Thing, which offers an inside look at his presidential campaign. Apparently, the book also rehashes his sparring with Mitt Romney, with Huckabee saying his opponent in the primaries was "anything but conservative until he changed the light bulbs in his chandelier in time to run for president," according to Time magazine. But Huckabee's web site says the book "shows how the Republican Party can heal its divisions -- between social and fiscal conservatives, the wealthy and the middle class, the religious and the secular -- and become a true majority party again."
The Tampa book event is sponsored by independent bookseller Inkwood Books. Huckabee is also scheduled to sign books Dec. 7 at Bell Shoals Baptist Church in Brandon, and make stops in Panama City, Orlando, Sarasota, Pensacola, The Villages and Southwest Ranches.

ugh.

Huckabee is a good guy with a sound moral compass. I didn't vote for him in the primary, but enjoyed him in the debates immensely.
The one guy up on the stage that seemed real...

...real slick like the televangelist he is. He just needs to go away.

Why the heck is he coming to Hyde Park Village? Stick to the fundies out in Brandon, Lithia, and Plant City. We don't want your kind around here, thank you very much.

There are few public figures who offend me as much as Mike Huckabee. I'm a conservative both socially and economically. Huckabee makes me sick and I do not believe he is inspired or lead by the almighty. I feel sad for the intellectually void evangelicals who think this guy speaks for God.

Ditto 6:18
Mike Huckabee is a shamelss opportunist who eliminated a great candidate knowing he could not possibly win the nomination.
So much for the unborn and the values he professes to defend. He is hypocrisy at its worst.
Now look whowe are stuck with.
He cares more about his political career than our country. Go away Mike.. permanently.

Huckabee is a great guy... have you listened to any of his speeches? Do you read what he writes? Not only is he brilliant, he is also principled. 6:18, how could you call yourself a social conservative and not like Huckabee? This guy is the real deal.

6:46,
Not only do I disagree with you, I also wonder if you were paying attention. Sure Mike Huckabee loves this country but he loves God more. As do I and as all Christians do (or at least they should do). I doubt you can find an ordained minister in any Christian denomination who will tell you that your allegiances should be to your country first and your God second.
Mike Huckabee is doing and saying what he thinks is right. Agree with him, disagree with him, whatever but he is as far from a hypocrite as any politician I have ever seen. I'm not saying I would vote for the man but I have a tremendous amount of respect for him and what he has the courage to say.
Unfortunately, precious few people have the courage to hear this message that their responsibilities are to God and Country and not the other way around. If he caused a good man not to be elected then, so be it, he did and said what he thought was right. While it may not have benefitted your candidate or the Republican Party and will certainly not benefit the Country for the next 4 years, hindsight is always 20/20. He did what he thought was right and I respect that.

Mike Huckabee should join a comedy circuit and remain a Fox News contributor. I didn't his class warfare rheotic and the jealousy he showed towards Mitt Romney's intellect and business success.

I don't know about Huckabilly's back, but his neck's bright red.
Posted by: | November 18, 2008 at 11:15 PM
10:56 Being an evangelical, Huckster's hardly jealous of the Cultist Romney.

10:49 Then why don't both you and Huckabee abandon the Republican party and start supporting the efforts of the Democrats to help the poor and disadvantaged. It's what Jesus wants us to do.

Huckabee was on the right track with his support for the FAIRTAX! That is the kind of Big Idea Republicans need to embrace and build an agenda around.
Posted by: | November 19, 2008 at 01:14 AM
If the Fair Tax were enacted, what would politicians have to demogogue?

Funny to see libs have hissy fits over Huckabee.
The guy is and was authentic in his beliefs - religious, political, economic and otherwise - in a manner that puts his primary opponents and Obama to shame.
Libs' anger essentially results from their intolerance - they're all for "diversity," unless it means being fair to someone who holds a different belief system than they do. THAT's hypocrisy.

Mike Huckabee reminds me of that cartoon character Huckleberry Hound.

Good one 12:09!
As a Catholic evangelical, I find Mike Huckabee to be a disingenuous politician who deliberately derailed a far better pro-life and business candidate who would have ascended to the White House.
Shame on him.
Posted by: | November 19, 2008 at 01:45 PM
disingenuous? in what ways?
sorry, but Romney, although smart and in many ways well-qualified, was a conservative come lately compared to Huckabee.
At any rate, given the mood of the country (Bush hatred), the economic meltdown (unfairly blamed entirely on GOP), the widespread desire to see an African-American elected to the highest office in the land, and the sheer amount of $$ raised by the Dems, it's highly unlikely that any GOP candidate could have won.

When will the Romney supporters quit their crying and get over it. Romney would have never won because he could not win the South.
The fact is he only states he won were ones that were governed by him or his daddy or dominated by his cult. You can hang a presidential campaign on those 4 states.
Finally, if Romney is so conservative, then why did he make abortion easier to obtain when he was governor?
