McCain doesn't mention Crist on Leno
In his first interview since the election, Sen. John McCain went on The Tonight Show and defended his choice of Sarah Palin, calling her one of the young Republican leaders of the future.
"I really believe that Sarah Palin is amongst some, like Tim Pawlenty and Bobby Jindal, the governor of Louisiana, there's a group of young Republican governors and, mainly governors, but also some in the Senate, that I think are the next generation of leadership of our party. ... Our party has a lot of work to do. We just got back from the woodshed."
No Charlie? What's up with that?

Take a long look around. The republicans have ruined the economy.
GM is all but bankrupt. And, Banks are teetering on the edge of failure.
American Express is now looking for a government loan to help them out too.
This is a depression not merely a recession.
So, thanks again Republicans...you and George Bush suck.

I agree we are in a Depression and I think Bush will not let anyone admit it, but...C’mon, you cannot blame Charlie for McCain's loss. The trickle down theory of giving a tax break to the rich did not trickle down enough money to pay for our increases in property taxes, insurances, gasoline and now food costs at Publix are sharply increasing.
Today gas prices are down, but my credit card says I am still paying for my gas purchases from June so it will be a while before trickle down catches up a little if possible!
Over half of the voting public voted for Obama, the majority did not know about Crist.
McCain lost because he told us our number one problem was the War on Terror (remember), how wrong was he? McCain did not give the regular person any HOPE for the immediate future. He only gave more tax credits to those who could use tax credits. Big deal. McCain should have known the voters he needed to sway did not understand tax credits. McCain and his handlers lost it on their own and Crist Romney Ridge etc. all knew it.

Now that he's not campaigning, why is he still talk showing it up: his salary doesn't depend on entertainment sales?
Is it the attention that is the buzz? I'm not sure that's any sicker than the power or the girls, but it ain't the most healthy reason to seek high office.

McCain forgetting Crist might have had something to do with Crist forgetting McCain.

Charlie hasn't called grandpa lately. He better get dialing or he won't get his $25 check for Christmas.

Nah, it was just a "momentary lapse of reason" by the top of the McGeezer - Pointless ticket

ooch....b**ch slap!
Posted by: terminator | November 12, 2008 at 07:54 AM
Charlie would be eaten alive by Bobby Jindal.

What McCain now says or fails to say matters little. Nobody cares. He is yesterday's news and, at age 72, unlikely to stage a comeback.
Posted by: zenator | November 12, 2008 at 08:22 AM
This was no accident. McCain knows that Crist and the RPOF really screwed him over.
Posted by: | November 12, 2008 at 08:32 AM
Well DUH. Charlie couldn't deliver Florida so good bye Charlie. Holding up Palin as the future of the party is a joke.
It will take more than a pretty smile and a folksy attitude to make a comeback.
Palin will probably be a US senator but that too would be a mistake. She should stay in Alaska and keep protecting the United States from Russia. I am sure that the tax payers would be willing to
chip in to keep her there.
Posted by: Paul | November 12, 2008 at 09:06 AM
Heck, Charlie couldn't deliver Tampa!
Posted by: | November 12, 2008 at 09:12 AM
Um, Eagleberger?
Posted by: | November 12, 2008 at 09:28 AM
Isn't it kind of dumb to think Charlie had more to do with losing than that loser McCain did pick?
The numbers show conservatives turned out (Amendment 2) but just could not make themselves vote for the McCain ticket. McCain is doing more and more to make himself look old, which does more and more to put the spotlight on his running mate.

Governor Bush, we miss your leadership sir.
Posted by: | November 12, 2008 at 09:54 AM
GM is bankrupt because the unions have killed that company. Busting up unions will save this economy.
Posted by: | November 12, 2008 at 10:27 AM
Now, now, now. Stop the tantrum, democrats. You won the election, now show us your magic. Fix it. And don't try to say it was republicans only that ruined the economy. Nancy Pelosi's crowd had a big hand in this debacle.
Speaking of Nancy Pelosi, now that she is even more all powerful with more dems in her corner and a dem president to give her the okey dokey, there's little doubt that a GM bailout is just around the corner.
How does everyone feel about that...knowing that your tax dollars will go for a GM bailout? Or more specifically, to prop up the pension funds of UAW workers that spend more on vacation houses than many of us earn in a year? PLUS that pension is ON TOP of their social security checks. How many f you young folks think you'll ever see a social security check?
C'mon, Barrack, Nancy. FIX IT!

There is no inherent disadvantage that GM had in the marketplace. It failed to adapt. It remained in pro-union states, cut bad deals with the unions, built vehicles that nobody wants to buy, and completely misread market trends. In sum, it was incompetent and deserves to die a corporate death. No bail-out can rescue it from its ongoing incompetence. The Soviet Union learned the hard way that if you artificially sustain incompetent, manufacturers, eventually the cancer spreads to government itself.

Safe to say Crist wasn't the reason McCain lost...Even if McCain had won Florida he lost Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Posted by: | November 12, 2008 at 11:23 AM
Sorry, I don't hate the union workers. We all deserve to have a decent pension and health care. GM and the other automakers just tried to screw their workers to maximize profits and salaries for the rich CEOs and ownership. So they got the unions as a result. I'll cry hard for the CEOs when they're not bringing in 400X what the line worker makes.
And 8 years of Bush and 6 years of GOP rule busted the economy. Put down the Kool-Aid, dope!

Now if Democrats do not FIX IT...
Posted by: | November 12, 2008 at 11:37 AM
Wondering why must you who make blogging and posting here a large part of your existance be incredibly vile & ridiculously mean to all dissenting from your views?
Didn't your guy win the highest Office in the land? Didn't Dems retain Congress?
Why not take a break from fire-spitting & why so hate-filled?
Shouldn't you be happy for 'Change' on the way... :)
Posted by: | November 12, 2008 at 11:45 AM
11:45 - Couldn't have said it better myself. Dems are just barely in power and already they're admitting they can't fix Pelosi's mistakes. Instead they get a case of adolescent potty mouth.
Posted by: | November 12, 2008 at 01:30 PM
Yep. Dems, you're the dog that caught the trash truck. Now you get to figure out what you want to do with it. You'd better deliver on all your promises.
Posted by: | November 12, 2008 at 02:29 PM
To Dems-
FIX IT!
Posted by: | November 12, 2008 at 02:56 PM
In spite of being one of the sack and burners of the USA, McCain can still get a laugh on Jay Leno.......
Posted by: | November 12, 2008 at 06:57 PM
Odd headline "McCain doesn't mention Crist on Leno".
McCain did not pick Charlie for VP.
Charlie & Jim Greer lost Florida for McCain.
Why would McCain mention Charlie Crist?
