State plane makes emergency landing

The governor's plane had had to make an emergency landing in Sarasota, the press office announced, and won't make it to Miami for his announcement on a rejiggered Everglades deal this afternoon. They were taking off from Bushnell in Sumter County, where Gov. Charlie Crist had visited the Florida National Cemetery in honor of Veterans Day.

They're not sure what was wrong with the plane, but "the plane was serviced for a generator malfunction last week." The news conference was rescheduled at the Marjory Stoneman Douglass House for Wednesday morning in Miami.

Why can't his highness just get on a commercial flite? There's no connection between sarasota and miami?Dang, I didn't realize they were such podunks.

Emergency landing? Like the "legal emergency" that Charlie Crist claimed kept him from going to the McCain Party in St. Pete on election night? Yeah, I am going to go ahead and call bulls**t on this one too.

Maybe his portable tanning booth drained all the juice from the airplane batteries…

Chuck is One-N-Done, I pray!

I went to the Department of State's, Division of Elections website and looked at all the political parties registered. I still can't find a shoe that fits me. Guess I will have to create my own party, maybe call it the 80% party. 10% right wing nuts, 10% left wing nuts and the rest of us make up the 80% party.

Clarlie can run on our ticket if the wing nuts don't like him, cause we do.

Wake up people. Those emergency landings and broken planes crap have been going on for years. Have fun in Miami, Charlie, as planned. Quit taking the public for stupid. How many time has you plane had to make emergency landings in the last two years? Maybe the FAA should look into your maintenance people.

Here's a take. Charlie wanted to go party in Miami but no official function so plans the Everglades trip and lo and behold, he has to make another emergency landing. At taxpayers expense. Always at taxpayers expense.

Crist called into the Schnitt show this afternoon, and talked about the plane problem - he said he heard the sound, brought it to the pilots attention, and when the pilots went to the back of the plane where the noise was coming, they said they didn't know what it was. So.. Crist tells the pilots it would be prudent to land the plane "don't you think". He sounded rather indignant that only he noticed the problem... i'm with the above posters - Charlie has more emergency plane landings and more emergency meetings than any other elected official ever.

Then Schnitt did his usual suck-up to Charlie, by telling him that he is the face of the future for the RNC.. to which Charlie does his usual demur "my priority is to work for the citizens of the great state of Florida who elected me, and my only focus is Florida"... yeah, yeah, yeah. when will the press call him on this??? it's no secret his upcoming trip to Iowa is his first test of the presidential waters. Between the Repub Gov Meetings in Miami, his sham-wedding and flying around the country raising money for re-elect and presidential exploratory committee, when is Crist going to land in Tallahassee and work for the Floridians he claims he is indebted to???

And another thing... a 300+ invited wedding while so many Floridians are struggling right now - very very poor taste.

Why did Benedict Dockery raise the Democrats over $100k?

Maybe Charlie should have plane trouble over Tallahasee and accidentally land there and stop in the capital and maybe lower our property taxes and insurance rates he promised years ago? Too much too ask, Charlie? You lose my vote.

How can Carol pretend like she doesn't know about Charlies past? Does she want to be "chief wife" that bad. She can do better than this.

If Charlie questioned the pilot about ANYTHING and suggested the landing, the poor pilot has no choice. Shame on you Charlie. The pilot has your life in his hands, don't treat him like your pet poodle. Show some respect.

Hey Honorable Charlie Crist,

Why don't you let your plane set down in the Iron Triangle where you have hundreds of thousands of poor Floridians incarcerated in prison for petty crimes. Or is that not of interest to you? Pay a visit to your citizens languishing in Florida's prisons, the biggest discrace in the whole world.

Who knew there was a "state plane?" Is the toilet in the governor's office the "state toilet?"

Please!! Chalie didn't want to be upstaged by all the other REAL Republican Governors - especially Gov. Palin!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
