Mr. and Mrs. Crist arrive at the Vinoy

At 8:22 p.m., the governor and his bride pulled up to the Vinoy in a Chevy Suburban.

He got out of the SUV, walked to the far side and opened the door for Mrs. Crist. By this time, the protesters had mostly dissipated after a long time lapse between the last of the guests trickling in and the governor's arrival.

As he approached the Vinoy, he commented to some people he knew, "What a protest, my word, what was that?" He also introduced Carole as "my wife."

They walked up the steps, with Crist taking Carole's arm and saying "Carole, stay with me." Onlookers applauded as he reached the top of the steps and congratulated him as he walked into the hotel. The couple went into a private room.

Glad Charlie is doing something. Although it is for himself again and not the people he promised to represent. Now how about his gay friends? good slap in their face, charlie, because now you have Carols money or did she make you sign a pre-nup?

"• Good thing Charlie Crist can't accept wedding gifts, otherwise we'd be obligated to joke about how he didn't register for a complete bedding ensemble, just the shams."

-National Journal - Last Call!

God bless them both and I wish them happiness for the Holidays.

Yeah... he's clearly gay.

Lucky guy! All the best and a life of happiness and joy!

Will they share a closet or will Charlie have his own?
I hope he has a big closet as I have a feeling he will be spending a lot of time in there, I mean picking out clothes to wear....
Following on from Jebb the Douchebag he has further bankrupted the State and our public education is the pits due to the lowest per student funding in the Nation but hey the Realtors and the guys with the big houses got the tax cuts they wanted.
Unlike Jebb the Douchebag, Crist is not a crook so we had a fair election in Florida this year. So I wish him well.

OMG was this written by a 12 year old girl?

Come ON now, SPT!

Congrats Governor! Most of us wish you well tonight and always.

I always heard this guy was gay. Sorry for my lack of originality. I live in California.

Hey CHARLIE! Your wonderfully WORTHLESS "public school system" happens to be run by STUPID DUMMASS LIBERAL COMMUNIST WACK NUTS who aren't interested in "EXCELLENCE", they're interested in "emotional equality"...

Which is WHY we're OVERSPENDING on a WORTHLESS system that isn't making our kids SMARTER, .. it's teaching our kids that "failure" is ACCEPTABLE if they FEEL GOOD ABOUT IT!

WAY TO GO CHUCK!!

Barry you're obviously a product of our school system. Any suggestions for fixing it or are you just content with ranting and raving?

Teachers provide the cirriculum, PARENTS are RESPONSIBLE for making sure thier children are properly educated. Repitition is the mother of education. If the children are parented properly then the parent can counsel the child and make sure they get extra practice at home.

Teachers are valuable, but PARENTS are they key to having educated children.

PS - Why do I get the feeling Crist got married for political reasons? No evidence of that, but he seems to be very scripted and calculating. His rise to power has been text book... I think he is doing a fine job, but I am leary of pols (Elliot Spitzer, NY) who seem to be so perfect... Food for thought...

Barry, 50th in spending delivers 50th in results. But to you this is "overspending". Children are worthless to you unless they are "unborn" in which case they are more important than everything else.
You happily spend $12 billon a month on the war in Iraq but a penny spent on Americans offends you.
You people always say that CEO's should get paid billions to attract the best people and then you pay peanuts to teachers.
You had no problem with $150 bil for AIG, 700 bil for the Banks or 2 trillion for Iraq but 14 billion to keep American workers at work offends you. Your first reaction is to blame American workers be they Auto Workers or Teachers. Your wonderful President put your idiot idiology to the full test over this last eight years and ran America into the ditch. However you haven't learned a damn thing have you?

Charlie should ask Mel Martinez why he voted to bankrupt the automakers.

Oh yeah, only care for those workers who shower before work, but "to heck with" those that shower after a hard-day's worth of manufacturing. Good riddance Mel.

I'd like to invite the Florida Governor and his wife to the Smart Marriages Conference held in his state next year. They will be newlyweds anf they should dig it!

Good stuff!

I'm planning to be there.

I think his wife is called a "beard" in some circles.

Hopefully they played some Liza and Cher at the reception.

Are we supposed to buy a 50 something southern gay gov in the bible belt marrying a Jewish socialite that already has 2 kids. Seriously??? Are we supposed to be that f'ing stupid?

Charlie, it's not the fact that you're gay that's bad. It's that you keep lying that makes it a problem.

Government schools are nothing more than liberal indoctrination centers. They obviously achieve their real goal to make the public stupid and apathetic and ignorant of history. Want proof? Half the country just elected a g-d-da--ed communist for president. Get rid of all 'public' schools. Starve the educrats. Let the free market deliver excellence.

Why are we expected to call homosexuals "gay"? They seem pretty darn angry based on all these posts.

His big fat gay wedding!

Crist, Jeb, Obama, it does not matter. George Wallace said it best, "there's not a dime's worth of difference between" Republicans and Democrats. The Democrats willingly went along with the War in Iraq, suspension of Habeas Corpus, Patriot Act, banning books like "America Deceived' from Amazon, Wikipedia and Facebook, warrant-less wiretapping and opening private mail. They are both guilty of treason.
Clean them all out and save this great nation.

Charlie is not homophobic. He really is a decent person. Everybody needs to lay off. He appointed a gay man to run one State agency. Actually 2. So go talk to those two men and see why is it that all gay men in office in Florida seem to think its better to stay in the closet. Charlie is going to now go back to doing the work of the people of Florida. Let him be happy for a few days.

Homosexuals called themselves gay not because they are happy. The word "gay" also means "lover of forbidden pleasures".

"Charlie is not homophobic. He really is a decent person. Everybody needs to lay off"

I don't know. He doesn't seem to be a bigot for the pleasure of being one. And sure, he is not homophobic --W isn't either, ask Cheney's daughter. The problem is, Sir (or Madam), that despite the fact that he is gay he supported the amendment to the constitution to do away with our right to marry and on top of that he goes and perform that sham marriage because he was in the VP short list.

I feel sorry for him -I too, had a sham marriage with a woman 20 years ago. But, when you are in public life and you do stuff to help you in your public life that have consequences for other people you need to take some political heat for that.

Eduardo

Gay marriage will happen soon. The Republican Party is already losing its national stature. Its obstinate refusal to recognize gay civil rights will further isolate it and marginalize it. It is already known as a regional party full of crackpots, cranks, loonies, racists and evangelicals. The Republicans have lost the young and the well-educated, probably for good. Who in their right mind would listen to a bigoted hick who uses the Bible as a weapon?

"Gay marriage will happen soon"

Well, thanks to the amendment that Charlie "the Straight" Christ supported it will take some more years in Florida than it otherwise would. Now the legislative can't approve gay marriage and only when we get 60% we will have it.

But it will come nonetheless.

Eduardo, It will happen on the national scene. Bigoted laws such as the one recently passed in Florida will be declared null and void.

Crist is queerer than a 3 dollar bill. Gay marriage IS legal in Florida--if you're a gay dude marrying a chick for cover.

Why is this on the Drudge Report? How i a governor's marriage national news?

"Why is this on the Drudge Report? How i a governor's marriage national news?"

Well, first Drudge like gossip. second, this is the story of one 51 bachelor governor that announces his engagement once he is the short list to be nominated as VP of the US

Congratulations Governor, the new bride is a stunner. My family hopes you have a long life with many blessings togethor.

Never mind the comments of the Sodomites and Libs, they obviously can't recognize moral behavior as a necessary virtue for leadership. Let them be judged!

Poor schools are as much the fault of the citizens as the politicos. Holding people to account and contributing your effort and time, rather than just complaining, is what solves problems.

Hear hear for the McGreeveys!

Hear hear for the McGreeveys!

LOL

Who will be Chuck's Golan Cipel? Any nominees?

She's wearing white..with two daughters? Cream color or maybe red would be a better choice...have a good life...

Insider, what do you mean by "I think his wife is called a "beard" in some circles."?

Curiosity is killing me!

When a gay man marries a woman, that woman is called a "beard."

Drudge has it on his site because-well let's just say- Matt won't be running for anything so he doesn't have to get a beard. I guess it's sort of an inside joke for gay Republican men like Matt to snicker at Charlie.....especially since Charlie didn't get the nod as VP.

thanks, insider

Hal Steinbrenner was here and there.

"Protesters"?! Good grief, the man was getting married! There's a time and a place for everything. Someone's wedding or funeral is NOT the place for a protest.

So may angry little liberals crying because a straight Republican won't become a Gay lefty just to make them happy. Nobody is as close minded asd a far left gay activist or as angry as a "tolerant" liberal...

Actually, Gay origionally ment light hearted and care free, a far cry for a discription of a homo.

So I guess now we do have gay marriage in Florida...a gay governor getting married!

Hey gays, California voted against prop A while voting for Obama. So do you know what that means? Your cries about the mean republican party mean nothing. Gay marriage is disliked by the majority of America across party lines.

If you want to get married, find a woman like the rest of America who have gotten married to the opposite sex.

Gays should not be allowed to raise children as well...they are perverts and sexual deviants, not good parents.

What is so puzzling is that the institution of marriage has been designed for thousands of years for the express purpose of procreating children. Yet Crist and his 'wife' will clearly not be consummating this purpose. Why are they being allowed to desecrate the sanctity of marriage?

That Bride is a BEARD, trust me, I know.

If the FL gov is gay, he has done a terrible thing, for the new wife and her children. No happiness will follow. Only misery for all who share his home.

Meanwhile, a bunch of Southern Republican Senators aided and abetted by their Republican Governors stuck it to American automakers on behalf of Japanese and German carmakers under the guise of putting American workers in their places.

How nice. The axis powers are looking to win 63 years after being defeated at the hands of Uncle Sam and the Allies and no one raises not even a whimper.

What next? Southern Republicans demanding that school children use their vouchers to attend schools where German and Japanese is taught as a first language.

Heaven forbid that the South Koreans start building cars in the old South.

And to think that the Marshall Plan actually got Japan and Germany off of their backs when they tried to take over the world.

I wonder who is goose stepping now? Where are the leather boots and the funny pants?

Remember Pearl Harbor folks!

This is an outrage!

A lot of anger and mean comments in this blog. Will your life be lived to spread anger and vitriol?

2:42pm. The only "outrage" is your belief that people are "entitled" to a high-wage if they unionize and blackmail their employers. The outrageous benefits the UAW receive are not par for the market and, as a result, the Big Three are going under. Those who want to prop up the UAW are the same people who would love for the UAW to become a welfare organization.

But, back to Crist: good job man!

(and I am young, highly educated, and a Republican so to all the close-minded elitist lefties out there, we young conservatives DO exist)

Going after real Americans like automakers??? You're kidding right? You're supporting the same union that always puts its interests in a political party before the interests of the country and you're ripping senators that voted against this sham? You people have a lot of f'n nerve. Your union has done more disservice to your workers and this country than anyone in this whole debacle. Those senators should have stopped voting for any bailouts a long time ago but as long as you have scummy politicians from both parties who pander to the lowest element for a vote we the people will always get screwed. Tell me one thing genius, if the sorry excuse for a govt gives the money to the undeserving car companies what makes you think they are going to change a thing about how they do business? They won't becuse this is just one great big sucker play to drain the treasury. Haven't any of you sheep even wondered why it is only the people that contribute to the political campaigns that are getting the so-called bailout while we the people are losing our jobs and homes with not one bit of help coming from either the Reps or the Dems? If you think things are going to changes with the Dems then you really are gullible and a product of the FL school system.
