Sansom's boss feared 'populist' Crist
The man who brought House Speaker Ray Sansom to Northwest Florida State College does not appear to be a big fan of Gov. Charlie Crist.
In several e-mails before Sansom took the $110,000 a year job, college president Bob Richburg is critical of the governor and worries he may veto some of the projects Sansom helped fund.
"He is such a populous (sic) that I could see him stepping in at the last minute and vetoing the work that you and others have done," Richburg to Sansom wrote last December. "I guess that goes for our projects as well." We previously reported a similar effort by Richburg and others to counter Crist's veto power.

My big concern is a college president that can't spell "advice" or "populist". Remind me not to send my kid to Richburg's school.

That is scary is it not. Add his use of a preposition at end of sentence to the list as well.

"Populous" is NW Florida speak for "would bear examination by the light of day."

Well I want to hate Richburg, but as much as it pains me, I have to agree with him on that point.

More leftie dribble, lets start looking over everyone's e-mail and "go tell it on the mountain".

Let's be clear, the only that money gets into the budget is by Ward and Hansen hiding it from Rubio. It doesn't pass the smell test that this small school would pull down those kind of dollars. The Gov. is Sansom's only hope, if he begins to call for an investigation Sansom and those who assisted in inserting this fraudulent appropriation in to the budget will be exposed.

7:15...
Why don't they start with yours. Could you stand up to the scrutiny?

These crooks should fear the US Attorney.
Posted by: | December 30, 2008 at 07:58 AM
I thought Sansom's "boss" was WE THE PEOPLE.

Don't blame it all on the folks up North.
All parts of the State does this as well as both parties.

7:15 is a minion apologist and a dope!
Posted by: | December 30, 2008 at 08:39 AM
I'm just impressed he could use the Internets so good.

I love all the Sansom bashing. Reminds me of how the press dealt with Jeb.
Posted by: | December 30, 2008 at 09:17 AM
Jeb Bush is lightyears above Sansom, don't bring him down to that redneck's level.
Yes, the press did go after Bush with a vengeance. The difference, other than the fact that Jeb Bush has integrity and character and Sansom is deficient in that department, is that Sansom dug his own grave. Say what you will of Governor Bush, he never abused his position as governor for personal gain.

9:22 The Bush Clan is far smarter than most. Arm's length at all times.

The whole state should be watching our Governor to see what he does about this self promoting jerk.
It may be hard for Charlie to do much since he too is pretty good at self promotion.

I heard a rumor that the Bush Clan made their money investing in Hitler and the Nazis. I'm sure it was all legal at the time, however.

If someone were to do a poll (explain what is known by media accounts since Sansom is not speaking)... and then ask if they support the removal of Sansom as speaker... and that poll was provided to Crist... then we would see some movement...

You people are missing the point. Why has NO ONE asked why Crist didn't veto this rather large $25 million turkey. The only reason Sansom successfully pulled this off is because Crist didn't veto the thing. HELLOOOOOOOO!
The "People's" governor, Mr. Government in the sunshine should explain why he did'nt veto this garbage.

Some people are a cancer on the body politic and some people get sucked into the cancer. "Men are more often bribed by their loyalties and ambitions than by money."
Robert Jackson
"He who blinded by ambition, raises himself to a position whence he cannot mount higher, must thereafter fall with the greatest loss."
Niccolo Machiavelli
"We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other."
John Adams (1735 - 1826)

This keeps getting better and better. Looks like Atwater will be dean of the Legislature this session.

It was incorrect to call Gov. Crist a Populist. He's a Democrat in the mold of former Gov. Bob Graham, but Charlie is more to the left of Bob Graham.
Gov. Crist prefers the financial backing of Republicans because it is easier for him to raise money.
Ray, do the party a favor and stand aside as Speaker and keep the college post. Your reputation and credibilty to lead in the House has been compromised. Start the New Year off right. Don't keep the fire stoking. Be selfless and protect the party.

NO. Give up the college post as well and get yourself an honest job somewhere. And a good criminal defense attorney.
