Sen. Jeb Bush?
"Gov. Bush has not given serious consideration to running for the U.S. Senate, or any other office at this point. He remains focused on the important policy issues facing our country in these challenging times, chiefly education reform. Gov. Bush hopes to play a constructive role in the future of the party, advocating ideas and polices to get the conservative cause back on track.
"He commends Sen. Martinez on his extraordinary legacy of public service."
Bush spokeswoman Kristy Campbell

He should run. He would be great in that job.

Why aren't any republican women being mentioned ? There are some very qualified candidates out there right now.

"Oh there's no place like home
for the holidays,
‘cause no matter
How far away you roam
If you want
To be happy in a million ways
For the holidays,
you can’t beat
Home, sweet home."
Run Jeb! Run!

I believe that Wasserman-Schultz would win in a landslide over Bush.
Posted by: | December 02, 2008 at 02:07 PM
GOP can only hope that Rep. Wasserman-Schultz would get the nomination as she is far too liberal to every get elected to a statewide office.

RUN JEB RUN THE PARTY DESPERATELY NEEDS YOU BACK !!!!!
Posted by: | December 02, 2008 at 02:29 PM
Kendrick Meek is said to be seriously considering the race. Wexler is not running for Senate. Klein is said to be considering the race. Boyd is 1/2 way into the race. Wasserman Schultz wont run.
Given Obama's success in FLA, I wouldn't count Meek out.

the bush-pierce crime family was NOT BRED to be legislators, only LYINGCORRUPT"LEADERS"
interesting, as soon as pedro decides he has NO CHANCE, the R's begin jostling for the "opportuinty" to appeal to the remaining twenty-seven angry, white florida rednecks who are not already soiling their depends!!

thought Jeb had to make "money" since his eight years in office as Gov left the poor guy too broke to live the high life he's accustomed to?
U.S. Senate doesn't pay nearly as much as fleecing the taxpayers of Florida like he did with the Lehman Bros. deal.
Although he would make a formidable candidate it would be Obama 2008 machine II redux.
The Unions/Dems will pour as much money as they need to in order to keep a Bush out of office.
Let the games begin!

Jeb Bush would be wonderful for Senator.
He was one of FL's best governors.

NEWS ALERT:
Georgia Republican Senator Saxby Chambliss wins run-off election over Jim Martin with around 60% of the votes with the help of superstar Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
Chambliss brought in Palin as his closer. She headlined four rallies for Chambliss across Georgia Monday that drew thousands.
Some have put the run-off as a preview of Obama versus Palin.
It looks like Barack Obama just got his first defeat even before getting into the White House.
Posted by: | December 02, 2008 at 11:15 PM
Palin as Chambliss' closer, i think not. Word is Charlie Crist was working some of the rural south GA counties and that's what put Chambliss over the top. He's a national player and Palin needs to go back to Alaska.
Posted by: | December 02, 2008 at 11:38 PM
The papers have BEEN CALLING THIS RACE "Palin versus Obama"
Obama would not campaign in Ga for Martin because he was afraid of a loss before even getting into office.
He & Michelle just recorded ads for Martin plus sent his campaign ground forces.

NEWS ALERT:
Republican Ted Steven has just lost his bid to retain the Alaska Senate seat which he has held for nearly 40 years.
Despite his similarity to Alaska VP candidate Sarah Palin, who also misused her political office for blatant personal gain, Alaska voters gave Stevens the big thumbs down in his effort to cling to his seat despite multiple felony convictions.
Some have put the election as a preview of Obama versus Palin.
It looks like Sarah Palin just got her first defeat in her own backyard even before getting back into the Governor's Mansion.

Please, haven't we had enough of the Bush dynasty?
Posted by: tom | December 03, 2008 at 06:53 AM
The brothers bush both claimed to be "education" governors.Did both intentionally make sure their respective states school systems finished in the bottom 5 or was that the best both could do? Jeb looked like a genius during record growth, this growth wasnt his doing, this growth was global. This country has had enough of the bushs and the scum they keep around them.Jeb is/was just like his brother advocating cheap illegal labor for his big business buddies, has he taken responsibility for that? Yeah right.
All the pubs blame the democrats like it was them and not bush stumping for illegals almost weekly.I have heard jeb give a press conference completely in spanish and then leave with out translating in english.Isnt this one of the issues beat to death in the rumor email mill only directed towards the dems?Did jebs wife ever say sorry for trying to smuggle the $10,000 ring into the US??? Nope, she is a bush!!!

FL luvs Jeb!
Posted by: | December 04, 2008 at 01:22 AM
Hey Bleat,
If you knew anything about Republican politics, you would know that Palin's relationship with Stevens is similar to the Crist relationship with Gallagher.
Not a loss for her, because she did not expend any political capital to help him.
